Join the ServerMeng Ling had hidden things well, but Gu Donghang never missed a chance to humiliate He Ting.
That night, Gu Qiuhang wasn’t home, and Gu Donghang rarely returned for dinner.
He Ting kept his head down, eating quietly, while Gu Donghang idly scrolled through his phone.
Suddenly, he let out a scoff and looked at He Ting with undisguised mockery.
He Ting calmly ladled himself a bowl of soup, not even bothering to lift his eyes.
After years of dealing with each other, he knew Gu Donghang would only insult him verbally, he didn’t dare actually do anything.
He was still afraid of Gu Qiuhang.
He Ting planned to finish eating and go upstairs. A few barbed remarks didn’t matter, if he ignored him, there was nothing else Gu Donghang could do.
But Gu Donghang clearly didn’t intend to let him eat in peace.
He shoved his phone in front of He Ting. On the screen was a photo of a drunk boy.
The boy’s cheeks were flushed, his eyes hazy, his body slumped against a sofa as if boneless, exuding a faintly suggestive air.
He Ting’s eyelids twitched. It was Meng Ling.
He narrowed his eyes, lips pressed tight, but still said nothing.
He knew the more he showed he cared, the worse Gu Donghang would get.
Gently blowing on his soup, he said indifferently,
“Drink your soup. Aunt Zhou had someone bring mountain chicken down specially. Don’t waste it.”
“Heh.” Gu Donghang chuckled, stretching out his leg and stepping directly on He Ting’s foot. Leaning forward, he sneered,
“You couldn’t climb onto my brother, so now your little brother is trying to climb onto me? You brothers really are the same, both shameless, targeting us brothers, huh?”
He Ting didn’t move, feeling the pressure on his foot increase.
Gu Donghang smiled maliciously.
“My brother doesn’t want you. But I’m not as heartless as him. I could give Meng Ling a chance.”
He pretended to think for a moment, then laughed like a devil.
“How about I try him out first and see how he is in bed, then decide whether to keep him around for a few years? Tang Xi, don’t you think I’m kind?”
He Ting wanted nothing more than to throw the hot soup straight into that disgusting face.
Gu Donghang wasn’t bad-looking, he took after Tong Yuemei, with delicate features, but the pettiness in his bones made him look slightly sleazy.
Without a word, He Ting pulled his foot back, calmly finished his bowl of soup, and went upstairs.
Gu Donghang had expected him to beg or even break down crying. Instead, he didn’t even bother to respond.
Left standing there like a fool, Gu Donghang took a long moment to recover, then angrily swept his arm across the table. Plates and bowls crashed to the floor, shattering everywhere, turning the neat dining room into a mess.
Even worse, Gu Qiuhang walked in right at that moment, leaning against the doorframe and watching him coldly.
Gu Donghang panicked. He didn’t know how long his brother had been there, or how much he had seen or heard.
Aunt Zhou rushed out when she heard the noise.
Gu Qiuhang said calmly,
“Let Second Young Master clean it up himself. Might cool his temper.”
Aunt Zhou quickly tried to mediate.
“How can he manage this? Go on, all of you leave, don’t get in the way of this old woman’s work.”
But Gu Qiuhang insisted,
“Aunt Zhou, go downstairs. Gu Donghang, clean up the mess you made.”
Sensing the tension, Aunt Zhou quietly withdrew.
For the first time in years, Gu Donghang couldn’t keep up his act in front of his brother. His eyes reddened.
Gu Qiuhang sat down leisurely, legs crossed, posture straight. He tilted his chin slightly, signaling Gu Donghang to begin.
Grinding his teeth, Gu Donghang grabbed a cloth and broom and crouched down to clean.
He had never done this before. Soon, his clothes were stained with soup, his shoes were a mess, and his fingers got cut by broken porcelain…
“Brother!” he whined, suppressing his anger.
Gu Qiuhang clicked his tongue, unmoved.
“Weren’t you impressive when you were throwing a tantrum? If you have the guts to make a mess, have the guts to clean it up.”
Gu Donghang had nothing to say. He stayed crouched on the floor, silently fuming as he cleaned.
After most of it was done, Gu Qiuhang didn’t make things harder for him anymore and brought him to the living room.
Once seated, Gu Qiuhang simply looked at him quietly until he grew uneasy. Then he said calmly,
“Explain. What’s going on with Tang Xi’s younger brother?”
Gu Donghang thought to himself, so his brother had heard after all.
He smiled meaningfully.
“Brother, you didn’t know? Tang Xi’s little brother came to find him. He got someone to pull strings and transfer him into our school, he’s right next to my class.”
Gu Qiuhang raised an eyebrow. X High’s affiliated school wasn’t easy to get into, he knew that better than anyone.
“Pulled strings? Who?”
“Su Bei.” Gu Donghang sneered.
“He’s pretty impressive now. Got himself attached to Su Bei. What does he have to be afraid of?”
Gu Qiuhang’s lips pressed into a tight line, his expression growing darker.
