It was about a week after Yu Sieun and I had a celebration party that the schedule and participation application notice for the platform tournament, LoL-TCup, was released to the general public.
Yu Sieun, who had been contemplating for several days, made the decision to apply for the tournament.
She was already in a few communities where broadcasters gather, and she was also in a big company party where she was mainly called to collab, though not active, so she must have made a good judgment on her own.
Yu Sieun, not me, is the one with the talent for broadcasting.
Any broadcast-related decision made from Yu Sieun’s point of view was something I didn’t intend to interfere with, regardless of my judgment on it.
It was special that Yu Sieun had listened to my words about this, and in the first place, it was something far outside of my authority as a video editor.
While rendering, I recalled the recent random thoughts, and when I recalled the word that came out of my own thoughts, “the relationship between me and Yu Sieun”, I felt my face turn a little red.
Since returning Yu Sieun home after waking up in the morning a week ago, we had not talked about the celebration party.
Since I hadn’t taken it out like that, the feelings from that time still remained in me and occasionally came to mind.
That was the extent of the change that the memory of the last moment had brought to me.
Yu Sieun and I, who have recently had similar sleep cycles, often talked on Discord after the broadcast was over.
It’s not like a meeting to set an agenda, but the topic of the conversation was mostly about the broadcast of the day or future plans.
With the participation application for LoL-TCup over and one day left until the score assigned to each broadcaster was announced, the topic of conversation between me and Yu Sieun was naturally heading in that direction.
You might think that if you said you would participate in the tournament, you just have to play the game well, but that’s a complete miscalculation in LoL-TCup.
The reason is simple.
The formation process of the team and the subsequent tournament in LoL-TCup are reminiscent of a group project in university.
Moreover, it is a group project where you have to form a team autonomously and receive an F if you can’t find a team, and it is not an absolute evaluation but a relative evaluation, so you have to compete with other groups.
It already has a lot of terrible conditions just by listening to it, but there is one part that is the most important point.
The point is that the people who have to carry out this task are not ordinary students, but streamers.
Tournament results are also important, but in fact, what is more important to streamers is how much fun they can get out of the tournament practice process and the tournament that will last for several weeks, and how much they can attract new viewers.
To attract viewers and get the effects of a large-scale project with many broadcasters gathered, the best way is to enter a large company’s team.
But to win the scrims and the tournament and to take care of the broadcast and the tournament, you have to join a team that distributes the points as efficiently as possible.
It’s like a seesaw.
If you put weight on one side, the other side will naturally become lighter.
If you take care of entertainment and relationships, the tournament results are likely to be ruined, and if you form a team entirely based on efficiency and skill, the broadcasts related to the tournament that will last for three weeks are unlikely to attract much attention.
This was the point that Yu Sieun was worried about.
“Hmm… Actually, I don’t know what to do.”
“Didn’t anyone propose to you to form a team first?”
“It might be just me, but… Looking at the atmosphere, it seems like there are almost no cases where they form a team together before the score comes out.”
“So, it means I have to wait and see tomorrow. Sieun unnie is a Master AD Carry and has a lot of games in the current season, so probably… Hmm, but I don’t know because my score has changed since last time.”
“Right. No matter how I think about it, finding a team is really chaotic.”
“If there is a team that is formed by a large company broadcaster and a team that is formed with the maximum efficiency of the score, which one would you go to?”
“I really don’t know about that either. But will I get an offer? Actually, the thing I’m most worried about is not finding a team… Probably from tomorrow’s broadcast, there will be fierce competition to recruit each other.”
“That’s right. If it doesn’t work out, you can just gather people as the team leader, so don’t worry about the team side. And aren’t you a good prospect?”
“……When did you start teasing me that I’m only ambiguous in score because I’m Master.”
“Well, you’re an AD Carry. Other people can take care of the management… You’re good at dealing damage.
When I see you in skirmishes, you’re similar to Grandmaster AD Carries 90 out of 100 times.
The problem is before and after the skirmish. And you’re a good person.”
“Eunsol, I always feel this, but you’re very strict with me in LoL. What you just said means I’m just good at dealing damage without a brain……! I feel bad. And you, you’re Diamond!”
“I don’t broadcast.”
“…Don’t scratch me and cheer me on tomorrow. If you keep doing that, I’ll find the smurf account you’re chatting with.”
“…………Are you planning to find a team and run scrims right away tomorrow?”
“I think I should. They say you have 7 days to form a team, but actually, the direction is all quickly set, right? Even if the probability of going with a team on the first day is low, you need to have a foundation.”
“That’s true. And well, I’m always cheering you on. I’m Sieun unnie’s editor.”
“Okay. Ugh… I have to wash up and sleep now. You sleep well too. Eunsol.”
“Have a good dream.”
Yu Sieun soon left the call, and I also moved the mouse to end the call.
I joked lightly to Yu Sieun as if I wasn’t worried, but the team-related issue is quite important.
There must be quite a bit of a mix of maneuvering and condition fighting.
In fact, there was nothing I could do to help with this. Just like when I decided whether to participate in the tournament or not.
Just like from the viewer’s point of view, most of what I could do was to pray that the broadcaster I was watching would join a well-balanced team and finish the tournament well.
There are parts that I am working on to help indirectly.
The more viewers Yu Sieun has and the more YouTube viewership rises, the more streamer EunSiyu becomes a person with good conditions.
In addition to that, I was thinking of presenting Yu Sieun with one option that she could choose if needed.
I organized the other tabs that were floating on the computer and then connected to Legacy of Legend.
The account I connected to was not the main account with the nickname EunSiyuYouTubeSub, but the smurf account that I had been steadily ranking up whenever I had time these days.
It was at a similar ranking to Yu Sieun’s average number of viewers a week ago, and now, a week later, my smurf account, which had added more points, was settled in the 900s in the ranking.
Since it was past midnight, the promotion must have taken place.
I saw the crimson helmet after a long time.
Looking at the crimson helmet in the center of the screen, I only thought of one thing.
I had restored the ruined family.
I no longer had the gaming skills of a beggar.
Now I have the latest patch version of Legacy of Legend software installed, and I have regained the movements in my memory.
‘Hoo….’
I had the last condition for the establishment of the content I would suggest to Yu Sieun.
Talent. Limit.
These two words are related to the development of human ability.
I don’t connect the fact that a person who doesn’t play games much is in the Bronze tier to the thought that the person has no talent.
I believe that it doesn’t matter to be good at anything at first.
It’s not a talent to reach Platinum in 100 games, it’s a talent to hit Grandmaster in 10,000 games.
In my view, talent is about the limit you can go up to.
Most of the 300 Challengers can’t even become a 2nd team pro, and the perennial Master player who ranks up thousands of games every season can’t reach Grandmaster.
The moment when this person can no longer move forward no matter how much they twist and correct their body with what they have is when they reach the limit of their talent and when their efforts become useless.
But in my view, Yu Sieun, EunSiyu, was not in a state of having reached the limit of her talent in the game Legacy of Legend.
In my view, the biggest reason why Yu Sieun can’t get out of the early Master tier is that most of the time she plays the game, she’s broadcasting.
There is a mental burden that comes from having to broadcast, but the biggest factor was that it was impossible to look back on her own decisions and correct herself after the game was over because the broadcast shouldn’t be boring.
If Yu Sieun participates in the tournament with the passionate appearance she usually shows, if she works hard to achieve that result, I was thinking of telling Yu Sieun my account as she wished.
There is a saying that Yu Sieun often says.
The very rational argument that only people with a higher tier than me should be certified and give advice.
If I tell Yu Sieun my smurf account nickname that she was curious about, I now have the legally authorized authority to give advice.
In addition, in my case, it is almost the only one in the world that can give real-time close-up tutoring while broadcasting.
In this case, I also have the calculation that I can extract several YouTube video materials.
Broadcasting in parallel has a high possibility of becoming overdoing it, so I have to plan it well, but I was confident that it would be enough and effective to go to Yu Sieun’s house directly or to tutor through Discord.
I left those thoughts in my head and fell asleep.
That was the next day.
The preliminary round of the LoL-TCup, the team formation, began.
