Chapter 26: No One Could Believe It

Before they even reached the Hall of Zhenwu, four men hurried toward them from the front.

The man leading the group had a broad build and an honest, simple appearance, giving off the impression of someone wise beneath an unassuming exterior.

Behind him followed three others.

One had a short beard and a cold, stern face.

Another was refined and scholarly in appearance.

The last was handsome, with a bold and heroic bearing.

The leading man quickly stepped up to Yu Daiyan.

“Third Brother, what happened that made you come here in person?

If you needed anything, you could have simply sent one of your disciples to inform me.

I would have come to see you myself.”

He took Yu Daiyan’s hand and asked with genuine concern.

Yu Daiyan glanced at the man before looking at the other three behind him.

“Eldest Brother, Second Brother, Sixth Brother, Seventh Brother…

Why have all of you come?”

“Third Brother, we were discussing important matters of the sect when we heard that you’d left your courtyard and were heading toward the Hall of Zhenwu.

So we rushed over immediately.

Did something happen?”

Yin Liting, the Sixth Brother, looked at Yu Daiyan with concern.

Yu Daiyan smiled.

“Something did happen.

But it’s a very good thing.

This isn’t the place to discuss it.

Let’s talk inside the Hall of Zhenwu.”

He glanced at the Wudang disciples gathered nearby and had no intention of revealing such an important matter out in the open.

“As long as it’s good news.

You really gave us quite a scare.”

The leading man, Song Yuanqiao, laughed as he took the reclining chair from Qingyuan.

Beside him, the stern-faced Yu Lianzhou said nothing.

He simply stepped forward naturally and took the other side of the chair.

The two of them carried Yu Daiyan toward the Hall of Zhenwu.

After entering the hall, they carefully set the reclining chair down.

Only then did the four brothers take their seats.

Inside the great hall, aside from five of the Wudang Seven Heroes, only Yu Daiyan’s three disciples remained.

“Third Brother, what exactly is this great news?

You can tell us now, can’t you?”

Mo Shenggu was the most impatient among them.

The moment everyone had sat down, he immediately asked.

Yu Daiyan looked up at Lin Yang beside him.

Then he smiled at the curious faces before him.

“Since you’re all so curious, I won’t keep you guessing.

I have here a foundational internal cultivation method.

Try cultivating it first.

After you’ve experienced it yourselves, I’ll explain everything.”

As he finished speaking, he gestured toward Lin Yang, signaling him to explain the technique.

Lin Yang did not refuse.

He cupped his fists respectfully and bowed to the four elders.

“Martial Uncles, I am Qingyang, Master’s third disciple.

Allow me to explain this internal cultivation method.”

Without waiting for their response, he calmly began explaining the same cultivation technique he had previously taught Yu Daiyan.

The four men exchanged puzzled glances.

None of them understood what Yu Daiyan was trying to accomplish.

Even so, they listened attentively, concentrating on every word while carefully analyzing the method in their minds.

When Lin Yang finished his explanation, all four men’s expressions became serious.

None of them were young anymore.

Even the youngest, Mo Shenggu, had practiced internal cultivation for more than twenty years.

Their understanding of internal arts was naturally profound.

Moreover, the supreme cultivation methods they currently practiced were far more complicated than the one Lin Yang had just explained.

To them, understanding this technique posed no real difficulty.

Precisely because it was so easy to comprehend, they immediately recognized that this cultivation method was indeed considerably more sophisticated than Wudang’s Basic Internal Art.

If this truly was a foundational cultivation method…

The four exchanged another look.

Each seemed to have arrived at the same unbelievable conclusion.

Suppressing the excitement rising in their hearts, they closed their eyes and began attempting to cultivate it.

Once.

Twice.

Three times… Among them, Song Yuanqiao possessed the highest level of internal cultivation.

On his third attempt, he successfully performed the technique.

As his breathing steadily rose and fell, he felt his vast internal energy begin to vibrate.

Not long afterward, it actually began increasing—slowly, but unmistakably.

The growth was minute.

Yet compared to the countless years he had cultivated without seeing even the slightest improvement…

This rate of progress was astonishing.

His eyes snapped open.

A terrifying flash of brilliance burst from them.

Song Yuanqiao stared at Yu Daiyan in utter disbelief.

Yu Daiyan simply smiled and nodded.

The gesture confirmed everything Song Yuanqiao had just experienced.

The Wudang Sect Leader trembled violently.

As the leader of Wudang Mountain, he understood the sect’s current situation even better than Yu Daiyan.

He also understood the state of the martial world better than anyone present.

If this cultivation method truly carried no hidden dangers…

If it could consistently maintain such a speed of refining internal energy…

Then Wudang’s strength would increase dramatically within a very short period of time.

Once one’s basic internal energy increased…

The advanced cultivation methods that transformed it would naturally become even more powerful as well.

That meant every one of the Wudang Seven Heroes could raise their strength by several levels because of this single cultivation method.

In these troubled times under Yuan rule…

Greater strength meant Wudang would be able to preserve its legacy far more securely.

At the thought of this, Song Yuanqiao felt his spirits soar.

However, seeing that his fellow brothers were still cultivating, he forcibly restrained himself from speaking.

After some time, Yu Lianzhou, Yin Liting, and Mo Shenggu all opened their eyes one after another.

“Third Brother, what’s going on?

Why is this cultivation method so much faster at refining internal energy?

It’s much faster than the Basic Internal Art Master created.

It’s practically as fast as taking a medicinal pill!”

Mo Shenggu asked one question after another.

“Seventh Brother, it’s not practically as fast.

Although it can’t compare with certain higher-grade pills, it’s already on par with a Qi Gathering Pill.

Third Brother, you hardly ever leave your courtyard.

Where did you obtain such an advanced foundational cultivation method?

Did Master create it?

That doesn’t make sense.

Even if Master had truly developed a new foundational technique, Eldest Brother should have been the first to know.”

Yin Liting was equally bewildered.

Looking at the puzzled expressions of his brothers, Yu Daiyan finally stopped keeping the secret.

“This technique wasn’t given to me by Master.

Nor did I obtain it through some fortunate encounter.

To be honest, I only learned of it today myself.

And if I told you who created it…

None of you would believe me.”

“Third Brother, who exactly created this cultivation method?

Just tell us already!”

Even Song Yuanqiao could no longer contain himself.

“It was created by my newly accepted disciple…

Qingyang.”

As he spoke, Yu Daiyan turned his gaze toward Lin Yang standing quietly beside him.

The four brothers followed his line of sight.

Their eyes landed on the young Daoist novice standing silently at Yu Daiyan’s side.

For a moment… They were completely stunned.

They looked at one another.

Every face was filled with utter disbelief.
