Join the ServerLin Yang slowly stretched his body.
Through his newfound awareness of his qi and blood, he could clearly sense that as he performed each movement, the flow of energy within his body changed.
Its speed increased.
Its circulation path shifted.
As the current accelerated, the circular cycle formed by his five internal organs began spinning faster as well.
The liver, lungs, heart, kidneys, spleen, and stomach worked together like the gears of a machine.
As they sped up, they drove his blood through his body like a waterwheel turning the current of a river.
The rapid circulation gradually warmed his body.
Tiny beads of sweat appeared across his skin.
His face flushed with vitality.
To Daoist Lin, who had long since cultivated internal energy, these changes were impossible to miss.
His eyes lit up.
Taking several quick steps forward, he stopped in front of Lin Yang and carefully observed his condition.
Then he nodded with quiet admiration.
His little clansman-uncle might be mischievous and difficult to discipline…
But his talent truly was extraordinary.
While the other novices were still struggling to master the movements of the Eight Brocades, Lin Yang had already awakened and tempered his qi and blood.
He had surpassed the others by a considerable margin.
That single step ahead meant he would begin learning internal cultivation methods sooner.
He would cultivate inner energy earlier than everyone else.
One step ahead today…
Would become a hundred steps ahead tomorrow.
From this moment onward, Lin Yang had already begun walking a different path from the other young novices.
Even so, Daoist Lin said nothing.
He feared that praising the boy too early would only nurture arrogance.
So he merely nodded calmly before turning away to continue instructing the other children.
Lin Yang paid no attention to what was happening around him.
His focus remained entirely on the faint current of energy flowing through his body.
Carefully observing its movements, he subtly adjusted every posture.
Each correction made his motions feel smoother.
More natural.
More efficient.
He experimented over and over, trying to make the flow of qi circulate as quickly as possible.
After several days of continuous adjustments…
He gradually developed a version of the Daoist Eight Brocades perfectly suited to his own body.
Performing the routine this way allowed the qi within him to circulate faster than ever before while maintaining that speed for much longer.
As Lin Yang continued refining the exercise to better suit himself…
His appetite also began growing larger.
He vaguely sensed that once food entered his stomach, the rotating cycle formed by his internal organs continuously ground and refined it.
The sensation was still indistinct.
He could only perceive it vaguely.
…
One afternoon, Lin Yang was once again studying new characters from the Dao De Jing.
Daoist Lin walked over and beckoned to him.
“Lin San. Come with me.”
Lin Yang looked up.
His eyes shifted thoughtfully.
He wondered why Daoist Lin wanted him all of a sudden.
Setting down his scripture, he followed him into a quiet corner.
“Lin San…”
Daoist Lin had barely begun speaking when Lin Yang slowly looked up.
“What did you just call me?”
“Lin San.”
Daoist Lin repeated himself, looking puzzled.
“What about it?”
The corners of Lin Yang’s lips curled upward.
“There were lots of people around earlier.”
“I didn’t argue when you called me Lin San then.”
“But now that we’re alone…”
“What should you be calling me instead?”
“Enough already, Lin San! Don’t push it too far!”
Daoist Lin nearly exploded.
“I’ve become a Daoist of Wudang Mountain!”
“Don’t start talking about family seniority with me!”
“Oh?”
Lin Yang nodded thoughtfully.
“So you’re saying that because you’ve become a Daoist…”
“You no longer acknowledge your parents back home?”
“When did I ever say I don’t acknowledge my parents?”
Daoist Lin retorted angrily.
“I’m saying that I’ve entered the Dao!”
“So stop bringing up clan seniority!”
Lin Yang raised his head innocently.
“If you still acknowledge your parents…”
“Then that makes me your uncle.”
“That’s correct, isn’t it?”
He crooked a finger toward Daoist Lin.
“Come on.”
“Call me ‘Uncle.'”
The smug grin on the little boy’s face made Daoist Lin want nothing more than to grab him and give him a good beating.
Daoist Lin took a deep breath, suppressing the anger rising in his chest.
Then a faint smile appeared on his face.
“Oh?”
“So you really insist that I call you Uncle?”
Lin Yang blinked.
Something suddenly felt…
Wrong.
“Well…”
“I suppose… it’s not absolutely necessary…”
He answered cautiously.
“I originally heard that someone awakened his qi and blood.”
“His appetite has grown so much that ordinary meals can no longer keep up with his body’s needs.”
“So, out of kindness, I applied for a bottle of Qi and Blood Pills to replenish his vitality.”
Daoist Lin sighed dramatically.
“But judging from today’s conversation…”
“It seems he won’t be needing them after all.”
With that, he turned to leave.
Lin Yang’s expression changed instantly.
“Wait! Wait!”
He hurriedly grabbed Daoist Lin’s sleeve.
“Daoist Lin! Master Lin!”
“You’re my uncle!”
“No—I’m the nephew!”
“I was wrong!”
“I spoke carelessly!”
“A child’s words don’t count!”
“Please don’t hold it against a little kid!”
His face was practically overflowing with flattery.
Daoist Lin turned back and looked at him.
Helplessly, he shook his head before poking Lin Yang lightly on the forehead.
“You…”
“Your father is an honest farmer.”
“Your two older brothers are well-behaved too.”
“So how on earth did you end up like this?”
Still shaking his head, he reached into his robes and produced a small porcelain bottle.
“Here.”
“This contains Qi and Blood Pills.”
“They’re made from precious medicinal herbs, and their potency is quite strong.”
“Take one pill every three days.”
“Absolutely do not take more than that.”
Lin Yang immediately snatched the bottle.
The moment he removed the stopper, a sharp, spicy medicinal scent rushed straight into his nose.
It was so intense that his eyes nearly rolled back.
Yet at that exact instant…
He clearly felt the transparent stream of qi inside his body accelerate.
His face immediately lit up with delight.
“I understand!”
“Thank you, Master Lin!”
He bowed deeply.
Although he often joked around and rarely treated Daoist Lin with much respect…
Daoist Lin had always cared deeply for him.
Whether it had been helping him enter Wudang Mountain…
Quietly tutoring him…
Or obtaining these precious Qi and Blood Pills…
He had fulfilled every responsibility expected of both a teacher and a fellow clansman.
Behind all his teasing…
Lin Yang genuinely appreciated him.
“Enough.”
“Cultivate diligently.”
“And stop putting on such an act.”
Daoist Lin waved dismissively before turning to leave.
Time passed quickly.
Every three days, Lin Yang consumed one Qi and Blood Pill.
Combined with his daily meals, the transparent stream of qi inside him steadily grew stronger.
Meanwhile…
His primary task remained studying the characters within the Dao De Jing.
Three months later…
He finished studying the entire Dao De Jing.
After excluding repeated characters, his vocabulary had reached 780 characters.
Only 320 remained before completing the system’s second mission.
By the fifth month…
He completed the Marvelous Scripture of the Northern Black Tortoise Spoken by the Primordial Heavenly Worthy.
His recognized vocabulary reached 1,020 characters.
Only eighty more remained.
During the sixth month…
After finishing the Scripture of the Dark Heavenly Emperor of Wudang Mountain…
His vocabulary finally surpassed 1,100 characters.
“Congratulations, Host.
You have completed the 1,100-character literacy mission.
Rewards have now been distributed.”
“Congratulations!
You completed the entire kindergarten curriculum in only six months.
Special Reward: Qi and Blood +100!”
The instant the system’s voice echoed through his mind…
Lin Yang’s hand froze around the scripture.
Deep within his body…
The once-faint stream of transparent qi was suddenly reinforced by two mysterious currents appearing from nowhere.
His originally tiny flow of energy expanded several times over in an instant.
From the thickness of a soybean…
It exploded to the size of a thumb.
The surging current roared through every corner of his body.
Driven by this tremendous increase…
His five internal organs accelerated wildly.
Like an engine suddenly filled with fresh fuel.
Their rapid activity caused his blood to surge violently through his veins.
Ordinarily…
His body should have begun overheating.
Sweat should have poured from every pore.
Yet that didn’t happen.
Instead…
The transparent current spread outward from deep within his body.
It wrapped itself around his internal organs.
Then enveloped his blood.
Finally, it seeped into his skin, forming a thin protective layer over his entire body.
It shielded his organs from being damaged by their frantic activity.
As every part of his body continued operating at astonishing speed…
The transparent energy began sinking even deeper.
Into every inch of his flesh.
Into every single cell.
Like rain falling upon a long-parched desert…
His cells greedily absorbed the nourishment.
Old, damaged cells were steadily replaced.
Healthy new ones emerged in their place.
Even the congenital weakness he had carried since birth…
The deficiency left behind from his premature birth…
Was gradually being repaired by this mysterious power.
