Chapter 48: Mo Shenggu

“Have you thought this through?

Once you decide to open the leg meridians first, you won’t have any means to fight enemies apart from lightness skills for a long time to come.”

“I have understood it clearly, Master. Please fulfill my request.” Lin Yang bowed deeply to Yu Daiyan.

Yu Daiyan nodded softly: “Since you have this intention, you must have thought about it for a long time.

As your Master, I know that with your temperament, you won’t easily change your mind even if I disagree.

In that case, go ahead with cultivating lightness skills first.

Even without the lethality of sword techniques, as long as your lightness skills are well-practiced, at least you won’t have trouble preserving your life when walking the martial world in the future.”

Lin Yang chuckled: “Master makes total sense. That’s exactly what I was thinking earlier.”

Yu Daiyan laughed and shook his head: “You brat.”

Pondering slightly, he continued: “Speaking of lightness skill cultivation, among the second-generation disciples of Wudang Mountain, the seventh brother, Mo Shenggu, is the most adept at it.

Lin Yang, since you plan to cultivate lightness skills, it’s best to seek guidance from a expert teacher.

In my current state, I am truly unable to guide you.

Since that’s the case, head over to Seventh Brother’s place.

Given your natural talent and how much Wudang Mountain values you now, Seventh Brother shouldn’t refuse your request for guidance.”

Lin Yang nodded slowly.

He hadn’t expected Seventh Hero Mo to be the most skilled in lightness skills among the Seven Heroes of Wudang.

However, Lin Yang felt no resistance toward seeking guidance from Mo Shenggu on lightness skills.

“Yes, Master. I will go ask Seventh Sect Uncle for guidance tomorrow.”

“Mm.” Yu Daiyan nodded, “Once you arrive at your Seventh Sect Uncle’s place, study diligently.

Don’t go changing your mind again this time.”

Lin Yang smiled softly: “Rest assured, Master.

Since I have decided to focus on lightness skills this time, I will naturally study hard and live up to your expectations.”

“Alright, since you have this mind, cultivate well from now on.

Go back to your room and rest.” After speaking, Yu Daiyan gently closed his eyes and said no more.

Lin Yang nodded to Senior Brothers Qingyuan and Qingliang not far away, then returned to his room.

Early the next morning, Lin Yang left the courtyard and went to Mo Shenggu’s residence.

Ringing the doorbell softly outside the courtyard, a set of footsteps sounded from within after a moment, and a little Taoist gently poked his head out.

“You are?”

“Junior Brother, I am Qingyang, disciple of Yu the Third Hero.

I have a matter to request an audience with Seventh Uncle Mo, please report my arrival.” Lin Yang cupped his hands slightly to explain his intention to the little Taoist.

“Oh, so it’s Senior Brother Qingyang!” The little Taoist hurriedly returned the gesture, “However, your visit is quite unfortunate this time.

Seventh Hero Mo is not at home right now.

He took on a mission from the Sect Leader and went down the mountain.

It’s estimated to take several days before he can return.”

“Is that so?”

Lin Yang felt a bit disappointed, but thinking about it, he could understand.

With Wudang Mountain so busy nowadays, as a second-generation disciple and a pillar of Wudang, Mo Shenggu naturally couldn’t stay on Wudang Mountain all the time like Yu Daiyan.

“Alright, then when Seventh Uncle returns, please mention it to him.

I will take my leave first.”

“Rest assured, Senior Brother Qingyang.

When Seventh Hero Mo returns, I will naturally mention it to him.”

Lin Yang nodded, turning around to leave.

However, he immediately recalled something and looked at the little Taoist with a slightly curious gaze: “Just now you said Seventh Hero Mo.

Are you not Seventh Uncle’s disciple?”

The little Taoist wore a helpless smile: “I don’t have that kind of fortune.

Seventh Hero Mo rarely lingers on Wudang Mountain during ordinary days, so among the Seven Heroes of Wudang, he is the only one who hasn’t taken any disciples.

My presence here is merely to help clean Seventh Hero Mo’s room.

I lack the fortune to bow under his tutelage.”

“Oh, so that’s how it is.” Lin Yang glanced at him, then turned around to leave without saying more.

He did not return to Yu Daiyan’s courtyard, but went straight to the Library instead.

Since Mo Shenggu was not on Wudang Mountain right now and there was no way to learn movement techniques, he might as well go to the Library to read through the medical books left behind previously.

Arriving at the Library, Lin Yang did not go to the third floor to disturb Zhang Songxi.

Instead, he found some medical books in a corner on the second floor, sat down at his familiar desk, and began reading softly through them.

Seven days later, Lin Yang had read through roughly all the leftover medical books.

Even if he hadn’t fully comprehended everything, he had memorized them all.

On this day, having received word from the little Taoist, Lin Yang arrived outside Mo Shenggu’s residence once more and knocked gently on the door.

The door opened, and the little Taoist poked his head out: “Senior Brother Qingyang, you’re here.

Seventh Hero Mo is already waiting inside.

Please come in.”

Lin Yang nodded and cupped his hands slightly: “Thank you.”

The little Taoist nodded with a smile in response, then led Lin Yang into the courtyard while stepping out himself and gently closing the door behind him.

Entering the courtyard, Mo Shenggu was sitting by a stone table with a set of tea set placed on top.

He was holding a cup of tea, savoring it carefully.

The clothes on his body looked newly changed, and a hint of fatigue lingered between his brows.

It seemed that running errands at the foot of Wudang Mountain was no easy task for Mo Shenggu either.

Then again, although this era possessed slightly extraordinary things like internal energy, the technological level of the era was ultimately not very developed.

When these martial artists traveled, most relied on riding horses as a means of transportation.

Under such circumstances, fatigue from long-distance travel was unavoidable.

“Qingyang pays respects to Seventh Uncle.” Lin Yang stepped forward and bowed to Mo Shenggu.

Mo Shenggu put down his teacup, looked at Lin Yang, and smiled: “Kid Qingyang, it’s rare for you to visit my place!

Is there something on your mind?

Just say it out loud.

As long as your Seventh Uncle can manage it, I definitely won’t refuse.”

“Seventh Uncle, I wish to practice some lightness movement techniques.

According to Master, among the Seven Heroes of Wudang, you are the strongest in lightness skills, so Master wished for me to learn from you.”

“Hehehe…” Hearing Lin Yang’s words, a trace of pride inevitably surfaced on Mo Shenggu’s face.

He stood up, nodding with a face full of smiles: “Third Brother truly has good judgment!

Knowing that in terms of lightness skills, I am indeed the strongest among the Seven Heroes of Wudang.

Coming to ask me for advice means you’ve truly found the right person!”

“Please guide me, Seventh Uncle!” Lin Yang bowed once more.

Mo Shenggu waved his hand: “No need to be so formal with me, nor do you need so many courtesies.

Our seven brothers are like limbs of the same body.

Since you are Third Brother’s disciple, you are my nephew generation.

Whatever I should teach you, I will naturally teach you.

However…”

Speaking up to this point, Mo Shenggu knitted his brows slightly: “You also know that Wudang Mountain is extremely busy with affairs nowadays, especially after you kid created those things, making our Wudang Mountain even busier.

Case in point, I just went out this trip to resolve a dispute over snatching medicinal herbs in the martial world.

I estimate that I won’t be able to stay on Wudang Mountain for many days this time either.

If you want to learn lightness skills from me, it’s best to wait until near the New Year when everyone is a bit freer, and I will give you guidance then.”
