Join the ServerHilvyn continued to knead her to her heart’s content. They only ceased when the water grew slightly cool.
Elara brought a stool and sat on the balcony to enjoy the breeze.
A light rain had just ceased outside, and the clouds obligingly parted, allowing a sliver of moonlight to stream into the city.
Hilvyn directly straddled Elara’s lap.
“Is sitting on a stool really that good?”
Hilvyn’s body pressed tightly against hers, face to face, completely distracting Elara from enjoying the breeze.
“I want to hug my sister.”
Elara no longer tried to push her away. She silently wrapped her arms around Hilvyn’s back, holding her steadily to prevent her from slipping.
“How are you even more clingy than when you first arrived?”
Elara recalled how Hilvyn, upon her arrival, had been a tearful shadow, a perfectly obedient younger sister.
Now, however, she was frequently dominating Elara.
Hilvyn did not reply. The evening breeze, carrying the scent of bellflowers, swept through, bringing with it the coolness of the night and the recent rain.
They instinctively pressed closer together.
“Sister,” Hilvyn began, taking a deep breath of the fresh, moist air, “why doesn’t the wind from Whispering Forest blow into the city?”
She meant that the Whispering Forest was currently filled with a foul stench, yet even when the wind blew from its direction, no unpleasant smell ever reached the city.
“It’s probably the city’s encirclement array.”
Cities typically featured many peculiar arrays, such as smoke-clearing arrays, anti-flight arrays, and noise-reduction arrays. It made perfect sense for Windchime City to have arrays that blocked foul winds or filtered the air, especially during such a time.
“So that’s how it is,” Hilvyn mused for a moment, finding it quite logical before changing the subject. “Sister, do you really like Aivyn?”
“Why ask that all of a sudden?”
“Because I feel like you, just like Guild Leader Sevia, get bright eyes whenever Aivyn is mentioned. It’s the same way my eyes light up when I see you.”
Elara understood. Hilvyn was feeling jealous.
“The admiration that I, and Guild Leader Sevia, show is a kind of worship, not the kind of affection we share, you see.”
“So my sister’s affection for me is unique?”
“Yes, it’s unique.”
Hilvyn smiled at her words, the moonlight illuminating her face, making her look beautiful.
“Then why does sister worship Aivyn?”
“Because she’s a powerful individual who slayed the Demon King. She’s already beloved by many people.”
‘The weak admire the strong,’ Elara thought, gazing into the distance. “I am merely one person among the countless who worship her.”
“Sister, you won’t need to worship Aivyn anymore.”
Hilvyn slid off Elara’s lap and stood upright, striking a pose as if raising a magic staff to cast a spell, though her posture was much more exaggerated.
“Come, worship the even more formidable Adult Hilvyn!”
“Pfft—As you command, Adult Hilvyn!”
Her antics were too amusing for Elara, both comical and endearing.
“Ooh la la!” Hilvyn pressed her advantage, leaning in to lightly pinch Elara’s chin. “My dear human lady, if you’re all alone, would the magnificent Hilvyn be so kind as to share a bed with you?”
“Hahaha…” Elara nearly fell off the stool, having lost her balance. “Where did you learn that line? It’s too funny, hahaha…”
Hilvyn pointed at the sky, raising an eyebrow.
“That blond guy said it today.”
“The blond guy?”
Elara pondered for a long time before realizing Hilvyn was referring to the S-rank adventurer. She then laughed, her eyes crinkling.
It took her a while to recover from her laughter. She then glanced up at the moon’s position.
“It’s getting late. Time for bed.”
“Okay~”
Hilvyn waited for Elara to lie down, then slipped into her embrace, wrapping her arms around her waist.
“Let me hold you while we sleep, Sister.”
“Your breath is too hot…”
Elara’s chest felt uncomfortable, soaked by waves of heat.
“Alright, then I’ll hold my breath.”
****
“Hah—no, I can’t,” Hilvyn said, pulling her head away from Elara’s chest. “I’ll suffocate.”
“Who forced you to hold your breath?”
“Then let’s just hug and sleep.”
“Alright.”
The two faced each other, embracing.
It wasn’t long before—
“Can you please stop touching me randomly?”
“Hehe, Sister’s skin is so smooth, I couldn’t resist.”
“Heh—ah~” Elara suppressed a yawn. “I’m really sleepy.”
“I want a kiss.”
“Mm.”
Hilvyn wrapped her arms around Elara’s nape, offering her face closer to Elara’s.
The next moment, however, Elara pulled away from her arms.
“Eh?”
“This time…” Elara cupped Hilvyn’s cheeks, gently squeezing the soft flesh. “Let me.”
It was always Hilvyn who initiated, and Elara couldn’t accept being at a disadvantage.
She slowly brought her face closer, took a deep breath, and held it.
This time, it wasn’t as stiff or clumsy as their first kiss.
‘Her lips are so soft…’
With a clearer mind compared to last night, Elara’s sensations were much more vivid. Her arms wrapped around Hilvyn’s waist, their bodies pressing tightly together, growing hotter as the kiss deepened.
‘Her waist is so slender…’
They slowly separated only when Elara could no longer hold her breath.
“The kiss is done. Let’s sleep.”
“Goodnight, Sister.”
Hilvyn smacked her lips, seemingly still savoring the taste.
Elara quietly savored it too… ‘Hmm, it seems to have a hint of bellflower jam…’
“Did you forget to brush your teeth?”
“Missing one day is fine, hehe…”
****
The next day, Elara woke early and gently unwrapped the arms coiled around her.
Hilvyn was still asleep.
She gazed at the serene sleeping face, then leaned down to lightly kiss Hilvyn’s cheek.
“Sister secretly kissed me.”
The person who had been sound asleep beneath her suddenly spoke.
“Eh!” Elara immediately straightened up. “You’re awake?”
“I should have kept pretending to be asleep. Will Sister continue?”
Hilvyn playfully pointed to her own face, her side-lying pose inexplicably alluring.
“…Never mind. Let’s go eat.”
“Okay—”

At the Adventurers’ Guild.
Elara didn’t plan to take any quests today. Instead, she intended to take Hilvyn to see the assessment grounds.
The assessment grounds were located in an open space northwest of Windchime City.
The area was enclosed by walls, built into a structure resembling an arena.
Many people gathered around to watch, not only adventurers but also ordinary citizens who came to observe and pass the time.
“Sister, there are so many people here.”
“It’s alright, we can go to the front.”
After showing their insignias to the guild staff maintaining order at the front, Elara and Hilvyn were allowed to pass.
This front section was reserved for B-rank adventurers and above.
It was intended to allow B-rank adventurers to better observe and learn.
“Number 26, Lizard Tail, please proceed to the arena for the comprehensive assessment.”
It was still morning, yet 26 people had already been assessed. However, it was unclear how many had passed.
This adventurer, code-named Lizard Tail, possessed water-attribute magic. Their mid-tier spells were well-coordinated, and their offensive magic displayed considerable power.
“Please collect your results below. Next, Number 27…”
“Sister, do you think he passed?”
“He probably did.”
“Sister, look at the assessor over there.”
“I see them.”
Following Hilvyn’s pointing finger, Elara saw a conspicuous head of blue hair.
It was none other than the S-rank adventurer, Lorraine.
It was perfectly reasonable for an S-rank adventurer to serve as an assessor.
The subsequent adventurers undergoing the comprehensive assessment were clearly not as skilled as “Lizard Tail.”
“They’re so weak.”
Hilvyn was starting to feel bored.
“You shouldn’t say that.”
Someone as naturally gifted as Hilvyn would naturally find it difficult to understand the struggles of ordinary people who find it hard to improve their strength.
“Those who strive should not be mocked.”
“Okay—”
