Join the ServerJingzhou University, male dormitory.
Gao Cheng sat on the lounge chair in front of his desk, reopening the photo Yao had sent.
He enlarged it, scrutinizing it bit by bit.
Suddenly, his pupils contracted sharply, and he shot up from his chair as if he had been electrocuted.
Jiang Zhexi and Jiang Chengshuo, who were in the same dorm, were startled by his reaction.
– F*ck! What happened? What happened?
Jiang Chengshuo looked at him curiously.
Jiang Zhexi also hurriedly asked:
– What’s the situation?
Gao Cheng ignored them, grabbing his phone and striding out of the dormitory.
Jiang Zhexi and Jiang Chengshuo glanced at each other.
Driven by curiosity, they immediately followed him.
Gao Cheng had always been the most steady among the three of them; if something made him react this way, it was definitely no small matter.
The two chased after Gao Cheng, walking quickly into the school cafeteria.
At this hour, the lunch period had long since passed.
The vast cafeteria was empty, with only a few staff members mopping the floors and wiping tables.
Jiang Chengshuo looked around in bewilderment.
– Gao Cheng, what are you doing here in the cafeteria?
Gao Cheng did not answer.
He walked directly to the rack holding empty meal trays, picked up a stainless steel tray, raised it to his eyes, and looked at it closely.
Jiang Chengshuo and Jiang Zhexi leaned in to look as well, even though they had no idea what Gao Cheng was looking for.
Gao Cheng turned on his phone screen and brought up the photo he had just saved to compare them carefully.
The edge of the tray in the photo and the edge of the tray in his hand both had a laser-engraved stamp of the letters JZDX.
The font, size, and position matched perfectly.
JZDX—Jingzhou University?
Was Yao a student at Jingda, just like him?
This discovery made Gao Cheng’s heart race with excitement.
– What are you looking at? Is there something special about this tray?
Jiang Chengshuo was completely lost.
Jiang Zhexi, however, had seen the image on Gao Cheng’s phone and correctly guessed a part of it.
– Is this photo from that online girl of yours?
– Mm.
Gao Cheng’s response was short.
Jiang Zhexi’s eyes lit up, his tone becoming excited.
– Oh, the tray in this photo looks exactly like ours. Could your girl actually be from Jingda?
Upon hearing this, Jiang Chengshuo also hurriedly leaned over to look at Gao Cheng’s phone, and his eyes lit up as well.
– It’s not just “looks like,” it was definitely taken in our cafeteria! Even the initials on the tray are exactly the same!
– Holy sh*t, it looks like you’re not far from meeting her in real life. Does she know you’re a Jingda student?
Gao Cheng ignored them and walked over to a nearby cafeteria staff member, holding up his phone.
– Hello, did the cafeteria serve these specific dishes during lunch today?
The staff member glanced at his phone screen and shook his head.
– I’m only responsible for the cleaning. The cafeteria makes dozens of dishes every day, so I’m not sure if these were on the menu today.
– …Thank you.
Gao Cheng was somewhat disappointed. He put the tray back and turned to leave the cafeteria.
Jiang Chengshuo and Jiang Zhexi hurriedly followed, pestering him from both sides for gossip about his online date.
– What’s her name?
– Have you seen a photo of her yet? What does she look like?
– Say something!
– Hey, don’t walk so fast…
As childhood friends who had grown up with Gao Cheng, they were incredibly curious about this mysterious online partner.
Gao Cheng had always been both a “god” of academics and a school idol—handsome and brilliant.
His only flaw was his arrogance; he was cool and aloof, seemingly looking down on everyone else.
Aside from the two of them being able to get a word in, he ignored most people, and no girl had ever managed to get close to him.
When they first found out Gao Cheng had a “wife” online, they hadn’t wanted to believe it was true.
But because it came from Gao Cheng’s own mouth, they were forced to believe.
Unfortunately, Gao Cheng was very protective of his online “wifey.”
Even with his closest friends, he was unwilling to reveal too much.
Knowing now that she might be at the same school, the two seemed even more excited than Gao Cheng.
After being pestered all the way back to the dorm, Gao Cheng reluctantly revealed a few details.
– This is a photo she took during lunch. I wasn’t sure if it was taken in the Jingda cafeteria.
– Isn’t it obvious? JZDX—Jingzhou University!
Jiang Chengshuo slapped the desk, feeling quite certain.
Gao Cheng knit his handsome, sword-like brows.
– She told me before that she was studying at a university in Guangcheng.
– She was definitely lying to you then!
Jiang Chengshuo spoke without a second thought, shrugging his shoulders.
– You’re on the internet; it’s perfectly normal not to tell the truth. Ask anyone here—who hasn’t told a lie online?
Jiang Zhexi was more composed, analyzing other possibilities.
– JZDX is just an abbreviation. It doesn’t necessarily have to be Jingzhou University. There are plenty of other names that could use those initials.
– We’ll know once we look it up.
Jiang Chengshuo suggested, swiveling his chair toward his computer.
– I’ll see which universities nationwide have the same initials. That way, we can narrow down the search range considerably.
Jiang Zhexi pulled his chair over to sit next to him and help with the search.
Gao Cheng glanced at them.
They were more enthusiastic than the person actually involved.
Anyone seeing them would think they were the ones investigating their own online dates.
