Chapter 60: Amnesia Side Story 14: The Body Remembers What the Mind Forgot

“Ahk! Your Majesty, stop… my stomach… ah! Ha-ah…!”

Hwaun let out a high-pitched cry that was almost a sob. As Ihan pressed down on his abdomen, the already narrow passage constricted further, making it feel as though his internal organs were being hammered by the thick pillar. Hwaun was genuinely terrified that the Emperor’s member might pierce right through him.

“…….”

Ihan’s eyes deepened as he savored the delirious cries that sounded as if Hwaun were being devoured by a beast. But in that moment, his gaze caught something on Hwaun’s back.

A large, jagged scar.

“Huu… Your Majesty…”

Hwaun moaned as the Emperor suddenly stopped his violent thrusting and began to rotate his hips slowly, stimulating the inner walls. But Ihan’s attention was entirely captured by the scar. Amidst the flawless, pale skin and the scattered strands of dark hair, that mark remained—harsh and unsightly.

It wasn’t a wound he was entirely unaware of. Although this was the first time he was seeing it with his own eyes, he could guess its origin from the stories he had heard. This was undoubtedly the wound Hwaun had received while saving Bi-young from great danger.

When he had first heard of that incident, he couldn’t believe the “Yeon Hwaun” he remembered would ever do such a thing. But seeing the scar now, the first thing he felt wasn’t suspicion, but a wave of profound pity.

How painful must it have been? How weary and anxious must he have felt, having such a deep scar left on his body?

Ihan pushed himself even deeper, burying his member to the hilt, and leaned down. He slowly lowered his head and pressed a cautious, tender kiss directly onto the scar.

“Your Majesty…?”

Hwaun, who had been panting from the intense pleasure, blinked rapidly as he felt the warmth on his back. He looked utterly bewildered. Though he couldn’t see behind him, he knew exactly what the Emperor was doing. The sensation of lips tracing the scar with such tenderness was hauntingly familiar.

Hwaun bit his lip. The dam he had built around his heart felt as though it were about to collapse under the weight of this unexpected gentleness.

Unaware of Hwaun’s internal struggle, Ihan became completely absorbed in caressing the scar. The rough texture against his lips made his heart ache as if it were being torn apart.

He knew instinctively: this scar was Seong Ihan’s own long-standing guilt. Even if his mind didn’t remember the details, he must have looked at this mark with sorrow every single time. He moved his tongue to trace the ridges of the scar, an act that felt less like foreplay and more like an offering of comfort.

I want to tell him that this scar doesn’t bother me at all—that it isn’t ugly. He wanted to convey the same thing the “old” Seong Ihan always had.

“Heuk…!”

Finally, Hwaun could no longer hold back. He burst into tears. No matter how hard he bit his lip or buried his face in the pillow, the surge of overwhelming emotion could not be stopped.

“Yeon Hwaun…?”

Ihan realized instantly that this wasn’t a cry of pleasure. Startled, he immediately stopped his movements, withdrew himself from the tight heat, and gently rolled Hwaun onto his back.

“Heu-euk…”

Hwaun’s face was soaked with tears. He was trying desperately to swallow his sobs, but his chest continued to heave. Seeing him try to hide his face with his hands made Ihan’s heart sink with a heavy thud.

Ihan pulled his discarded outer robe over Hwaun’s trembling body and pulled him into his arms. He didn’t know when he had started treating Yeon Hwaun with such precious care, but seeing those shaking shoulders broke his heart.

“I… I am sorry…”

Ihan was surprised by his own words. For an Emperor to apologize to a mere consort was unheard of. What was more surprising was that he had no desire to take the apology back.

“This situation must be just as confusing and terrifying for you… I pushed you too hard.”

The hands that had been treating Hwaun roughly only moments ago now patted his back with infinite softness. Ihan had been angry because he thought Hwaun saw him as a stranger, but he realized that Hwaun needed time just as much as he did. To be held by a man who didn’t remember you—even if he was the man you loved—was a different thing entirely. He felt a deep sense of self-loathing, wondering if he had effectively forced himself on Hwaun just because the consort couldn’t say no.

“No… no, Your Majesty. That isn’t it… it isn’t like that… heuk…”

But Hwaun’s heart was entirely different from Ihan’s guess. He wasn’t crying out of fear or sorrow. It was the opposite. He was simply overwhelmed by the magnitude of the Emperor’s love, which seemed to transcend even amnesia.

Kissing the scar was Ihan’s oldest habit. Since the day their hearts had first met, Ihan had always viewed that scar as his own failure and looked upon it with pity.

Even without your memories… even without knowing why this scar exists… you still treat it with the same love. Hwaun couldn’t contain the gratitude. “Even without your memories, you already… heuk…!”

You are already cherishing me more than the vow you gave me.

Unable to speak through his sobs, Hwaun pulled Ihan down and kissed him first. He nipped at the Emperor’s lower lip as if begging for entrance, whispering through his tears, “Please… do not stop, Your Majesty…”

Ihan responded by deepening the kiss, pulling Hwaun back into his embrace and tossing aside the robe. As their bodies met again, Hwaun naturally wrapped his legs around Ihan’s waist, inviting him back.

Ihan wiped the tears from Hwaun’s eyes and slowly pushed himself back into the tight, welcoming heat.

“Ha-ahk…!”

Hwaun moaned again. Ihan stared at him, mesmerized. Seeing Hwaun’s face while inside him—a view he hadn’t had from behind—completely swallowed him whole. The slightly furrowed brow, the wet eyes, the reddened lips he bit himself, and the way his body strained to accept the invasion… every bit of it was devastatingly lovely.

Ihan moved slowly, reaching the deepest point and savoring every reaction, every breath. Hwaun, too, refused to close his eyes, desperate not to miss a single second of his lover’s face.

“Your Majesty… more, deeper… ha-ahk!”

“You really…!”

Ihan’s composure crumbled at the unexpected plea. He could see how much Hwaun was struggling, yet instead of asking for mercy, he was asking for more. He didn’t know if Hwaun was incredibly brave or incredibly innocent for provoking him like this.

“Ah! Ha-ah…!”

Ihan saw no reason to refuse. His slow, rhythmic movements suddenly turned violent and frantic.

“Heu-euk! Ah! Ha-ahk!”

As Ihan hammered against the inner wall, Hwaun’s cries grew higher. His legs, wrapped around Ihan’s waist, lost their strength and fell open, trembling as they shook with every impact. Ihan slid his arms under Hwaun’s back, pulling him closer and thrusting with such force that he felt he was reaching into Hwaun’s very core.

It was a primal, territorial instinct. He wanted to conquer the places that were hard to reach and melt Yeon Hwaun into a puddle of pure ecstasy.

“No, wait…! Ah! Your Majesty, not there… ahk…!”

Hwaun’s protests went unheeded. Or rather, Ihan heard them and chose to ignore them, certain that Hwaun didn’t actually want him to stop. The way Hwaun’s weak hands gripped Ihan’s waist, trying to pull him even closer, was proof enough.

“Your body is begging for more… so why do you say you dislike it?”

“Ha-ahk…! Ah! Huu…!”

Ihan’s movements became a frenzy. As he bottomed out against the deepest wall, violating a place where nothing else should ever reach, Hwaun felt his mind fracturing. He could no longer form words, only shaking his head as he gasped for air.

Ihan leaned down, licking the saliva from the corner of Hwaun’s mouth before sealing his lips with a kiss so deep it felt as if he were trying to bury his tongue in Hwaun’s throat as well.

Caught between the heat above and below, Hwaun’s reason finally snapped.
