Join the ServerThe sprawling teaching building was shrouded in darkness, the moonlight obscured by heavy clouds.
Xiao Moyuan walked with a steady gait down the empty corridor, his footsteps echoing distinctly in the profound silence.
He had no need for light. Spiritual energy gathered in his eyes allowed him to perceive the deepest shadows as clearly as daylight.
A searing pain and restless agitation gnawed at his sanity without reprieve, emanating from the depths of his bloodline.
He knew the ominous black lines and bulging veins beneath the skin of his face were slowly writhing, bringing a faint itch and prickling sensation.
The curse was on the verge of eruption.
He moved with precise intent toward the agreed-upon classroom.
The door stood ajar. He pushed it open and entered.
Shen Zhixia stood by the window, her back to him, her figure a mere blurred silhouette in the dense darkness.
“Moyuan, you’ve arrived,” her voice was feigned calm.
Xiao Moyuan walked to her side and stopped, maintaining a perfect distance—within striking range, yet allowing ample room.
He could smell the demonic energy gradually leaking from her.
It seemed she had also become a target for the other party.
His throat felt parched and tight, his voice unnaturally hoarse from his strenuous effort to suppress his instincts.
“You don’t seem to have anything to say to me.”
Shen Zhixia still did not turn.
“There’s too much to say, I’m momentarily at a loss for words.”
She paused, then asked a question that, to Xiao Moyuan, held no meaning.
“What I truly want to ask you is, did you ever like me?”
Xiao Moyuan nearly let out a cold laugh, a low, hoarse syllable rumbling in his throat.
“Heh… Didn’t you say you trusted me?”
He was referring to the messages she had sent him earlier in the day, feigning magnanimity.
“I just wanted to be sure.”
“But haven’t you already found the answer in your heart?”
Xiao Moyuan no longer wished to engage in this pointless charade with her. He directly tore away her pretense.
“From the moment you ‘accidentally’ encountered her at the restaurant, didn’t you already know?”
Shen Zhixia spun around abruptly. Even in the darkness, Xiao Moyuan could clearly discern the shock and panic that flashed across her face.
“You knew everything?”
Her voice rose, laced with incredulity. “Are you testing me, or are you playing with me?”
‘Fool.’
Xiao Moyuan scoffed inwardly.
He felt the fluctuation of demonic energy from her. Her crimson, bloodline eyes glowed in the darkness, and her sharp nails subtly elongated.
The prey was finally baring its fangs, just as he wished.
“Do you know why I was willing to approach you?”
Xiao Moyuan suppressed the rampant curse within him, his voice growing increasingly hoarse.
Shen Zhixia was indeed led astray, her fangs slightly exposed as she followed up, “Why?”
“Then think, what changes occurred in you before I began to ‘approach’ you?”
Xiao Moyuan guided her, simultaneously gathering spiritual energy at his fingertips.
Shen Zhixia seemed to ponder for a moment.
She couldn’t conjure an answer. However, whatever the answer might be, it no longer mattered to her.
Suddenly, the demonic energy around her surged dramatically!
‘Now!’
Yet, just as Xiao Moyuan prepared to strike and subdue her, he preempted her, his voice as cold as iron.
“It was after you became a blood kin!”
Boom!
It was as if an invisible thunderclap had exploded in Shen Zhixia’s mind.
She froze in place, her mind utterly blank, even the demonic energy she had just gathered momentarily dissipated.
‘How could he know? He was clearly just an ordinary human… No!’
“Who exactly are you?!” Shen Zhixia shrieked, her voice distorted by extreme terror.
At that very moment, the curse marks on Xiao Moyuan’s face, which he had been forcefully suppressing, could no longer be contained.
They began to writhe violently, emitting an ominous aura in the darkness.
He no longer concealed himself. He lifted his head, allowing his eyes, which glowed with a chilling light in the darkness, and his terrifying visage to be fully revealed before Shen Zhixia.
Shen Zhixia’s pupils constricted. The Xiao Moyuan before her was more monstrous than any being she had ever encountered!
The pure, higher-level pressure instantly overwhelmed her, triggering an instinctive fear rooted deep within her blood kin nature.
‘Now!’
Xiao Moyuan moved!
His hand, imbued with spiritual energy, seized Shen Zhixia’s arm!
“Ugh!”
Shen Zhixia felt a pure yet domineering spiritual energy instantly surge into her body, annihilating and suppressing all her demonic power.
All the joints in her body seemed to freeze, rendering her unable to move even a single finger.
Despair spread through her mind.
She even felt that Xiao Moyuan, in this moment, was more terrifying than Xia, who possessed a bloodline suppression over her.
“Spare me… please…” She instinctively begged for mercy, her voice trembling with supplication, no longer caring for any pretense.
Alas, it was too late.
The curse’s savagery within Xiao Moyuan had almost shattered his last vestiges of sanity.
He urgently needed fresh blood, demonic energy, to suppress the curse!
Shen Zhixia’s pleas were nothing more than a mosquito’s buzz in his ears.
“I hear you blood kin are quite fond of biting necks?”
His low, hoarse voice held a hint of mockery. With his other hand, he roughly grabbed Shen Zhixia’s collar and yanked it down violently!
*Rip!* The sound of fabric tearing was exceptionally clear in the silent classroom.
Just then, the dark clouds enveloping the moon outside the window quietly dispersed. The cold moonlight poured in like mercury, instantly illuminating the classroom, as well as Shen Zhixia, who was huddled on the floor, her neck pale and vulnerable, her face etched with extreme terror.
*Clang!* A sudden, crisp sound came from the classroom doorway, like something had fallen to the ground.
Xiao Moyuan’s impending bite abruptly froze, his rationality instantly returning a few degrees.
He suddenly turned his head, looking toward the source of the sound.
In the moonlight, Su Mian stood there, utterly dumbfounded, her face deathly pale, a fallen phone lying at her feet. ‘He… why is he here?’
‘This disobedient little fox!’
In the split second that Xiao Moyuan was distracted by this unexpected intruder, Shen Zhixia, whom he had been desperately suppressing, seized the fleeting opportunity and abruptly broke free!
“Ah Mian! Help!”
Shen Zhixia let out a desperate cry, frantically running toward Su Mian at the door. She quickly hid behind her, clutching Su Mian’s clothes tightly, her entire body trembling.
“Xiao Moyuan secretly invited me out for a midnight moon viewing, but then he suddenly went crazy and lunged at me…”
“Wuwuwu, Ah Mian, I should have listened to you. Xiao Moyuan truly isn’t a good person…”
She wept piteously, her fear and trembling tone so authentic that she played the role of a victim to perfection.
Xiao Moyuan watched her performance with cold eyes, scoffing inwardly, but he did not immediately expose her.
His attention was more focused on Su Mian, who stood in front.
Indeed, overwhelmed by her ‘beloved’s’ tears and accusations, Su Mian’s delicate little face instantly filled with fury. Like an enraged small beast, she charged forward, swinging her fists haphazardly.
“Xiao Moyuan, you bastard!”
Xiao Moyuan merely raised a hand casually, precisely catching the fist. With a slight exertion of force, he twisted the arm of the little fox who had delivered herself to him, pinning her firmly against a nearby desk.
“Ugh!”
Su Mian cried out in pain, her entire upper body forced against the cold tabletop, her struggles proving futile.
At this moment, Shen Zhixia, seeing Xiao Moyuan restrained by Su Mian, subtly transformed into several small bat-like creatures. They flickered like shadows, silently and swiftly merging into the darkness of the corridor, vanishing from sight.
“You bastard! Let me go!” Su Mian continued to twist defiantly.
Xiao Moyuan intensified the pressure on her. He felt the fragility of her slender wrist beneath his palm, and the subtle tremors that ran through her struggling body.
The curse within him intensified again due to the emotional fluctuations, making him incredibly irritable.
“Heh, let you go?”
He leaned down, drawing close to Su Mian’s ear, his hot breath caressing her sensitive earlobe. His voice carried a cold, malevolent edge, born from suppressed pain.
“Do you think that’s possible?”
The duck blood he had in hand had escaped. All of this was thanks to this little fox who had suddenly intruded, thinking she was ‘rescuing a beauty.’
“Xia Xia! Hurry and go! I’ll cover your retreat here!”
Su Mian was still anxiously shouting toward the empty doorway.
Xiao Moyuan almost laughed in exasperation. He coldly interrupted her futile efforts.
“Stop shouting. She’s already gone.”
Upon hearing this, Su Mian twisted her head with difficulty to look at the doorway. Indeed, Shen Zhixia’s figure was nowhere to be seen.
“Also,”
Xiao Moyuan’s fingertip lightly traced Su Mian’s slightly arched back, a result of being pressed down, his tone playful.
“Your current ‘covering the retreat’—are you planning to use your own body to do it?”
At this, Su Mian finally lifted her head completely. In the bright moonlight, she clearly saw Xiao Moyuan’s face, now terrifyingly close—a visage covered in bizarre black marks and gnarled veins.
In an instant, the flush of anger on her face receded, replaced by extreme terror. Her pupils sharply constricted, and even her voice changed pitch.
“You… what’s wrong with you?”
Seeing the undisguised fright in the little fox’s eyes, an inexplicable flicker of irritation crossed Xiao Moyuan’s heart.
He reached out and pinched Su Mian’s chin, forcing her to meet his gaze. With his other hand, he deftly removed her bothersome black-rimmed glasses and casually pushed aside her thick bangs that obscured her forehead.
Moonlight fell unimpeded upon her fully exposed face—a delicate, pale face, etched with fear, yet in the moonlight, it presented a breathtaking, fragile beauty.
Whether as ‘Su Mian’ or ‘Sweetheart Marshmallow,’ this face was enough to incite desire.
“Xiao Moyuan… what… what do you want?”
Su Mian’s voice was tearful, yet she still tried to maintain her composure.
Xiao Moyuan gazed into those misty eyes, like those of a startled deer. The agitation of the curse within him seemed to calm slightly due to this ultimate ‘prey.’
He curved his lips, revealing a meaningful smile.
“Didn’t you say you’d use your body to cover the retreat?”
His thumb rubbed against the smooth skin of Su Mian’s jaw, feeling her slight shivers.
“Then you should have… prepared to sacrifice your body, shouldn’t you?”
Su Mian’s eyes widened abruptly, a mix of shame and terror intertwining.
“You… you’re not serious! We’re both guys! At worst… at worst, just beat me to death…”
“Both guys?”
Xiao Moyuan let out a low laugh, the sound exceptionally clear in the silent classroom.
He leaned in closer, almost touching Su Mian’s lips, enunciating each word clearly into her ear.
“Do you really think… I don’t know that the ‘Sweetheart Marshmallow’ online, who keeps trying to flirt with me and claims to have a husband, is actually you?”
