Chapter 7: My sister’s cell phone

Su Mu Zhe had never used Evran’s Bloodkin power.

For the past year in Tian Tan City, no Bloodkin or Otherworld Beasts had appeared.

Everything here was so calm and peaceful, and he had consequently lived a full year of normal daily life. Perhaps from this perspective alone, if Evran sustained his life, he should indeed express gratitude.

However, he subconsciously resisted the power of the Bloodkin.

He had always resisted Evran, and his hostile attitude towards the Bloodkin would not change.

Furthermore, once he used Evran’s power, no one knew what would happen. A human genome implanted with Bloodkin ancestry was equivalent to completing a [First Embrace Ritual].

At that time, whether he could still exist as a human would probably be an unknown fate.

“What kind of look is that, human?”

Auston noticed Su Mu Zhe’s complete lack of fear, which surprised and displeased him. He tossed the pink phone in his hand, scrutinizing the human before him who had no special abilities.

Baro merely stood still, without moving. He didn’t seem to regard Su Mu Zhe as a threat.

Because both Bloodkin could sense that Su Mu Zhe possessed none of an Exterminator’s power; he was no different from any other ordinary human.

He was someone who could be easily crushed.

But why did this face and figure feel somewhat familiar?

As if they had met somewhere before, but why this feeling, it was something never felt from any other human.

This was also the reason for Auston’s hesitation.

“What? Is that…”

Su Mu Zhe recognized the pink phone being tossed up and down in Auston’s hand almost immediately.

That brand-new pink phone case…

Just a few days ago, he remembered his sister happily running into his room, telling him she had changed her phone case, asking him if it looked good, appearing very happy and fond of it.

But now, how could it be in the hands of a Bloodkin…?

“Hey, Bloodkin, how did you get that thing in your hand?”

Su Mu Zhe’s tone deepened, and his face instantly fell. A restless emotion surged beneath the surface, and his fingers trembled slightly.

Auston let out an “oh,” and immediately curved his lips upwards.

“I took this from a human female. What’s wrong, do you know the owner of this object?”

Is that so? Auston was already secretly pleased.

This human boy before him, capable of staying in the teaching building alone while all other humans fled, must be looking for something important.

And he could recognize the object in his hand at a glance, so the important person he was looking for became obvious.

He had just been displeased by the familiar feeling he got from this human, but wasn’t this good show now being delivered right to his doorstep? A human, a mere livestock, should be kneeling before him begging for mercy.

He loved to see humans in despair.

He especially loved to see humans pitifully helpless in their despair, unable to resist, and loved to hear the impotent rage they expressed.

Su Mu Zhe’s Adam’s apple bobbed; he exhaled a long, trembling breath.

His sister’s phone being in the hands of a Bloodkin already signified certain things, but Su Mu Zhe didn’t want to accept that situation, and he couldn’t accept that fact.

“Where is she now?” he asked again, his face grim.

“Hahahahahahaha!”

Auston suddenly covered his face with his white-gloved hand and burst into wild laughter!

Although the human girl had escaped midway, it didn’t matter. Compared to those insignificant matters, he would make this human before him feel what despair truly was.

Auston leaned his upper body forward provocatively, asking word by word with playful amusement:

“That girl, she’s your closest relative, isn’t she?”

Auston’s tone carried a sharp mockery. Su Mu Zhe didn’t answer, but his face was as gloomy as a storm cloud; he had already clenched his fists tightly, his shoulders trembling with anger, his knuckles cracking audibly.

Almost roaring with fury, Su Mu Zhe bellowed:

“Tell me! Where is she?!!!”

Auston scoffed contemptuously, throwing the pink phone in his hand downstairs, as if he could easily discard a human life, and said dismissively:

“Dead.”

—In an instant.

Su Mu Zhe’s pupils lost their focus, and his ears buzzed for a moment.

“What did you say…”

Everything around him seemed to instantly turn desolate gray, and sounds could no longer be transmitted through the air.

After Auston uttered that conclusive sentence, he immediately plunged into an endless abyss, an abyss with no bottom, silent and dark, as if he had fallen into such a terrifying dark world.

Su Mu Zhe’s world became still.

“Xiao Zi… have you already killed her?”

After a long time, he lowered his head, his black bangs obscuring his eyes.

Auston, seeing Su Mu Zhe’s sudden change, revealed a triumphant smile.

That’s right! This was the sight he wanted to see.

He had witnessed humans displaying this pathetic expression countless times, but he still hadn’t had enough; this sight was endlessly entertaining to him, and each time, his heart felt immense pleasure.

Baro, lacking Auston’s peculiar, glanced at him with a puzzled expression.

“Vice Staff Officer, we should leave quickly, otherwise if human Exterminators arrive…”

They were currently on a mission, but Auston at this moment seemed to be immersed in the enjoyment of tormenting humans, as if engrossed in his own personal art, which somewhat bewildered Baro.

But Auston knew Baro wouldn’t understand his kind of pleasure. He laughed loudly, spread his arms wide, displaying the posture of a powerful and bullying superior.

“After all, trampling on these livestock who dare bare their fangs at us is an infinitely pleasurable thing!”

Saying this, Auston raised his hand, and with a mere flick of his fingers, compressed the air in front of him into a powerful wind cannon. Su Mu Zhe’s body was instantly sent flying with an explosive speed!

His back slammed against the wall, and cracks instantly climbed upwards, the entire wall collapsing with a crash in an instant.

“Hahaha! What a ridiculous ant… Oh? Still alive?” Auston laughed.

“…” Su Mu Zhe lowered his face, his bangs covering his forehead, sitting silently in the rubble. A scorching pain emanated from all his joints, an agonizing pain as if he were dying.

Evran was also stunned; hiding in the shadows, she quickly looked at Su Mu Zhe with worry.

Had Su Xiao Zi… truly died at the hands of the Bloodkin?

For the past year, she had been with Su Mu Zhe at all times, and had seen the deep familial bond between him and Su Xiao Zi. She deeply understood how important his sister’s place was in Su Mu Zhe’s heart.

If something happened to Su Xiao Zi…

It would be equivalent to Su Mu Zhe losing a large part of the meaning of his life.

If Su Xiao Zi truly had her life taken by the Bloodkin as Auston said, then what would Su Mu Zhe become? Would this brother and sister die here together today?

But gradually, slowly.

Evran felt her body burn as if on fire; hiding in the shadows, she felt a slight panic. She had never before felt such an unusual disturbance from Su Mu Zhe.

“…Don’t get too carried away, Bloodkin.”

Su Mu Zhe supported himself on the shattered wall, pushed away the rubble, spat out a mouthful of blood, wiped the corner of his mouth with the back of his hand, and shakily stood up from where he was.

Evran was stunned. This was… power surging out?

If the former Su Mu Zhe had sealed off his conduits, preventing Evran’s power from entering his body, then at this moment, Su Mu Zhe had directly crushed those conduits.

Utterly unblocked.

W-wait!

Evran felt her power being powerfully drained!

And she actually felt a slight fear towards Su Mu Zhe. She had never encountered a situation where Su Mu Zhe was so willing to accept her, constantly demanding and unleashing power.

It was almost… like a desperate attempt to perish together with the enemy.

The surrounding air began to warp, and an endless stream of sanguineous auras gathered around him. Su Mu Zhe slowly raised his head, his eyes bloodshot, then overflowing with blood, his pupils turning blood-red.

“Yes, you’re right.”

Bloodkin… eternal enemies, objects that must be exterminated.

His low voice suddenly made Auston’s expression cool down involuntarily, stopping his laughter.

He faintly sensed a Bloodkin power different from theirs emerging from an unknown place, and that bloodline aura, he feared, might also belong to a high-ranking noble.

Su Mu Zhe’s pupils turned an abnormal color, and began to emit an incredibly demonic light.

“But the one who will be trampled, is you.”
