Chapter 123: The Maid Training Begins (And the Bloodlust Awakens)

“This again? Did Xiaoxiao buy this on a whim?”

Not only was there the set in her hand, but another matching one lay on the bed.
Neither was large enough to be Su Xiaoxiao’s size.

“Where did you even get these? I don’t remember you buying maid outfits before.”

“Yup! I just ordered them online recently. Cute, right? Hurry up and try them on—let me see if they fit!”

Su Xiao Zi excitedly waved the black-and-white dress with frills and a matching cat-ear headband.

Su Xiaoxiao knew escape was impossible. She began bargaining.

“If you really like it, I’ll wear the maid outfit… but can we skip the cat ears? It’s way too embarrassing.”

“Eh? That’s exactly why it’s good! Maid outfits are *supposed* to be embarrassing.
Who even wears them outside? They’re for home, for you and others to admire.
Plus, I wanna hear you meow a few times~”

“Meowing is impossible. Never in this lifetime.”

Su Xiaoxiao folded her arms, speaking with haughty defiance.
She felt perfectly comfortable in her blue-and-white casual clothes. Why did she have to wear a maid outfit, cat ears, and meow like a cat?

“Don’t be so unwilling! I already bought it, you know.
This is part of the ‘gentle lady training plan’ for my brother.
Since you’ve become a girl, you need to become more ladylike—your temperament should match your appearance.
A big beauty that everyone adores, flowers bloom at your sight, cars stop to give you rides~”

Su Xiaoxiao’s ears perked up at the weird phrasing.

“Speaking of big beauties… wouldn’t you qualify just by dressing up nicely? Maybe tie your hair in an Asuna style or something.”

Her skin was smooth and dewy, arms slender, waist curved beautifully, legs long and graceful, chest well-developed.
Su Xiao Zi looked far more like a teenage goddess.

Su Xiaoxiao, on the other hand, was pure cuteness—nothing sexy about her.
Flat front, flat back. Who’d want to pinch her?

“But the one I want to train is my brother.
The maid outfit is a way to help you accept your new self.
I’ve noticed… since you became a Bloodkin, you’ve looked a little weak.”

Ever since relying on her original stamina and that small amount of blood yesterday, her body had been steadily weakening.
It felt like she was constantly on the verge of anemia.

If Su Xiaoxiao didn’t eat enough, Evran went hungry too.
Afraid Su Xiaoxiao might collapse, Evran hadn’t taken any blood from her these past few days.

“So what? I’ll find a way to sustain myself without hurting anyone.”

“Eh? You’re okay hurting *me* but not others!?”

Evran grumbled indignantly, but then thought for a moment and explained.

“Well… you were originally human—an Exterminator.
Even though your power was taken, the foundation remains.
After becoming my kin, you still retain half your humanity.
More precisely, the Exterminator part resisted, so I couldn’t fully turn you into a Bloodkin.
You exist between human and Bloodkin now—not fully belonging to either side.”

“So I can just drink the human half of your blood!
But I’m 100% Bloodkin. If you drank from me, it wouldn’t help—it might even cause rejection if the bloodlines don’t match.”

Evran explained patiently.
But somewhere in the middle, Su Xiaoxiao stopped listening carefully.
Instead, she stared at her own hands, murmuring emotionally,

“So… I’m still human, after all.
Becoming an Exterminator back then… was really worth it.”

“Hey! I just gave you a whole explanation and your takeaway is *that*?!”

But this situation couldn’t continue.
Without a blood source, Su Xiaoxiao’s body would eventually collapse.
And above her fallen body might lie an equally collapsed Evran.

Bloodkin were called Bloodkin for a reason—blood was essential.

Su Xiaoxiao had never actively sought blood.
She resisted it in her heart—perhaps from her old hatred of Bloodkin, or because her human heart still lingered.

One side took, the other gave.

Su Xiaoxiao refused to attack anyone.
She’d rather collapse from weakness than harm innocent humans.

Fangs piercing skin hurt.
And she had seen Bloodkin drain people dry—brutal, merciless scenes that filled her with revulsion.

The air grew still.
No one spoke for a moment.

Then Su Xiao Zi gently smiled and placed her hand on Su Xiaoxiao’s head.

“Alright. If you’re willing to follow my plan and become a cute girl…
I’ll let you bite my neck.”

Su Xiao Zi’s words were intensely provocative.
In an instant, Su Xiaoxiao felt something stir inside her—a Bloodkin instinct awakening.

After drinking that small amount of blood yesterday for the first time, she’d occasionally felt this restlessness.
Now it surged stronger than ever.

The craving for blood.

Her pupils turned crimson.
Her canines extended into sharp fangs.
Her vision blurred; her mind buzzed.

Evran sensed the change.
She glanced at the atmosphere, then reached out, took Su Xiaoxiao’s hand, and held it tightly.
She whispered softly in her ear,

“Not now, okay?
Big Sis Xiao Zi is your family. Little Tina is your cute subordinate.
Everyone here is your friend. You can’t do anything rough, alright?”

Like a sedative, Evran’s words cooled Su Xiaoxiao instantly.
Her crimson eyes faded back to normal.
Her fangs retracted.

Regaining control, Su Xiaoxiao clutched her forehead.
In those few seconds, her body and mind had slipped from her grasp—overtaken by a powerful, alien urge.

She had to admit it: her body had truly changed.
She now carried a Bloodkin’s bloodline… and desires.

“Sorry. Thank you, Evran.”

“Ehe~ No need.
It’s normal at first—especially when you’re starving, you can lose control and turn into a beast.
You just need to get used to it and learn to rein it in.
I just didn’t want you to hurt someone important against your will.
That’s all~”

Evran clasped her hands behind her back, tilted her head, and smiled sweetly.
Her ahoge perked up and playfully hooked onto Su Xiaoxiao’s ahoge.
The two antennae twined together like affectionate friends.

“Because you’re my kin.
It’s my duty to take responsibility for you.”
