Chapter 2 :You’d better be!

The Divine Armory Pavilion was a secret realm constructed by the Ting Tian Sword’s previous Sword Master using her own spiritual power, specifically to hide various divine weapons and sharp armaments.
It now seemed that, after so many years, this Divine Armory Pavilion had become the exclusive secret realm of a major sect.

Actually, Xiù Qīngchéng didn’t know much about his previous Sword Master.
Most of the time, he was in a daze, faithfully fulfilling his duty as a sword.
He only knew that his Sword Master was a plain-looking woman.
Xiù Qīngchéng still remembered that his previous Sword Master had loved collecting all sorts of weapons since childhood.
Her life was one of constant wandering, and she collected countless weapons.
Finally, with the inclusion of the Ting Tian Sword into the Divine Armory Pavilion, she made her last mark in life.
He never expected that this ‘last mark’ would be the beginning of his own tragic existence.

He truly was just an ordinary sword; he couldn’t speak, nor could he fly around indiscriminately.
At most, he could only tremble a bit when excited, like a splash of water.
Therefore, ever since the Ting Tian Sword first appeared in the world, no one had ever known that an existence like Xiù Qīngchéng resided within it.
The Ting Tian Sword’s previous Sword Master also never imagined that by placing the Ting Tian Sword into the Divine Armory Pavilion, she would be “imprisoning” the will of a living person in the long expanse of time.
If it weren’t for his naturally optimistic nature and his having learned to talk to himself, he, Xiù Qīngchéng, would probably have had all his personality annihilated by loneliness in that sea of time, becoming a true sword.
A true sword, whose power over life and death lay in its silent execution.
Fortunately, Xiù Qīngchéng had finally endured it.
Now, he had been brought out of the Divine Armory Pavilion and could re-embrace this beautiful world!

Flowers, trees, sky, breeze, clouds, sun…
Ah!
The world is so wonderful!
“Hey, hey, hey, buddy, can you move me forward a bit?
I want to get a few more glances at your Senior Sister Liǔ…” Xiù Qīngchéng stared intently ahead, truly wishing he could pat Mèng Yìngxīng and ask him to move him to a better position so he could get a better look at Miss Liǔ Chénxīn, who was leading the way.
He hadn’t seen a beautiful girl in hundreds of years; what was wrong with letting him look a few more times!
Unfortunately, Mèng Yìngxīng couldn’t hear Xiù Qīngchéng’s voice, and Xiù Qīngchéng could only twitch a little like a Water Splash move, so the two had no way to communicate normally.

Mèng Yìngxīng followed Liǔ Chénxīn, when the latter suddenly stopped.
“Junior Brother Yìngxīng, although Senior Sister considers herself beautiful enough to make fish sink and geese fall, you don’t need to stare so eagerly at Senior Sister, it’s rather embarrassing~”
Liǔ Chénxīn turned around, shyly twisting her body, and reached out to flick Mèng Yìngxīng’s forehead.
Mèng Yìngxīng: “?”
He was about to explain something, but Liǔ Chénxīn didn’t give him the chance.
Amidst the sudden ringing of bells, she jogged a few steps forward.
“Junior Brother, hurry up, the bells have already rung!”

By the time Mèng Yìngxīng and Liǔ Chénxīn arrived at the Central Plaza, the enormous square was already packed with people.
Xiù Qīngchéng looked around and saw only people wearing the same sect uniform as Mèng Yìngxīng and Liǔ Chénxīn.
These people were gathered in a circle, centered around a few old men in the very middle of the Central Plaza.
Xiù Qīngchéng could guess with his hilt that these old men were likely the elders and sect master of Mèng Yìngxīng’s sect, though he didn’t know which sect it was.
“Cough, cough—”
As the leading old man cleared his throat, the previously noisy Central Plaza immediately became so quiet that a pin drop could be heard.
Everyone waited for the old man to deliver his speech.
“This year’s Tianfeng Sect Divine Weapon Trial will be presided over by me, Elder Chén Sānyǎng of Lianxiu Peak.
Now, disciples participating in the Divine Weapon Trial, step forward.
Everyone else, step back 10 paces.”
At Chén Sānyǎng’s command, almost everyone retreated ten paces, leaving only a few dozen people standing at the front, including Mèng Yìngxīng.
“Senior Sister Liǔ isn’t participating?” Xiù Qīngchéng looked around at the people, a bit surprised.
“The participating disciples don’t look very old.
Is this so-called Divine Weapon Trial some kind of beginner activity?”
“Most of you have probably heard of the Divine Weapon Trial, but I still need to explain it in detail.”
Chén Sānyǎng’s calm gaze swept over each disciple participating in the Divine Weapon Trial.
“The Divine Armory Pavilion is our Tianfeng Sect’s renowned secret realm, discovered and utilized by our first Sect Master, Hán Bùyuè.
It was also the initial capital for the founding of Tianfeng Sect.”
“The Divine Armory Pavilion secret realm is infinitely profound; it has not been fully explored in 324 years, and the weapons within, strong or weak, are inexhaustible.”
Xiù Qīngchéng truly wondered if his previous Sword Master, hearing that the weapons she had painstakingly collected were now being freely used by a sect, would rise from her coffin and then cough up blood and die again in a sit-up.
“Our Tianfeng Sect recruits new disciples once every three years.
Six months after new disciples enter the sect, the Divine Weapon Trial will be held, and all new disciples can enter the Divine Armory Pavilion.”
“Those with destiny can obtain their own weapons in the Divine Armory Pavilion.”
At this point, Chén Sānyǎng’s tone became heavy and solemn.
“However, those without destiny will gain nothing in the Divine Armory Pavilion and will be directly expelled from the sect!
Therefore, the Divine Armory Pavilion is the first test!”
“Now, those who failed to obtain a weapon in the Divine Armory Pavilion, step forward!”
Under Chén Sānyǎng’s stern tone, several people in the ranks of those participating in the Divine Weapon Trial trembled and hesitantly stepped out.
“The sect will give you a sum of compensation, and you must leave Tianfeng Sect within seven days.
So you still have time to say goodbye to your masters and friends.”
Amidst Chén Sānyǎng’s humane, but not overly so, words, some of those judged to be without destiny to the sect immediately knelt down.
“Please, Elder, grant us mercy!”
“My parents are still hoping I’ll achieve great things!”
“Elder, I will become a rare talent in the future.
You cannot abandon me just because I didn’t get a weapon in the Divine Armory Pavilion; you will regret it!”
“I object!
Sect Master, Sect Master, say something!”
Amidst a chorus of wails, they were met only with the sect’s forced expulsion.
After this scene, the crowd on the field immediately thinned out by a small portion.
“This system is really tyrannical.
Are they really not afraid of the sect losing some cultivation geniuses?”
Watching those pitiful people being dragged away, Xiù Qīngchéng felt a bit emotional.
But emotion aside, it had nothing to do with him, and he was quite amused by it.
However, Xiù Qīngchéng felt Mèng Yìngxīng’s grip on him visibly tighten.
Was this kid… glad he got to stay?
“Heh, Mèng Yìngxīng, I can’t believe a waste like you actually got lucky and stayed?”
Xiù Qīngchéng suddenly heard a contemptuous male voice from beside him.
Because the person previously next to Mèng Yìngxīng had also been dragged away, standing beside Mèng Yìngxīng now was a boy with an arrogant expression.
Xiù Qīngchéng saw his eyes, saw the deep contempt in them for Mèng Yìngxīng.
How to put it?
It just made Xiù Qīngchéng very annoyed, reminding him of those overly aggressive noble brats from when he was human, making him want to stab them in the ass with his sword.
Facing the provocation, Mèng Yìngxīng merely lowered his gaze to the foot-and-three-inch patch of ground before him, remaining silent.

After one round of trials, Chén Sānyǎng continued the rules explanation that had been interrupted:
“You do not need to be complacent about being allowed to stay, for there are more trials awaiting you.”
“Seven days from now, you will use the weapons obtained in the Divine Armory Pavilion to engage in successive duels in the Martial Arts Hall, determining a winner and loser.
Those ranked lower will also be dismissed!
The weapons obtained in the Divine Armory Pavilion will also be reclaimed simultaneously!”
After comparing luck, what was to be compared next was, as expected, strength.
But after Chén Sānyǎng finished speaking, Xiù Qīngchéng once again assessed his current Sword Master’s Upper Stage Stargazer cultivation, and a wave of despair suddenly washed over him.
Among this group of people participating in the Divine Weapon Trial, Mèng Yìngxīng had the lowest cultivation level.
Wasn’t this a guaranteed loss!?
Was he destined to be immediately locked back into a dark room after barely getting a glimpse of this wondrous world!?
How much Xiù Qīngchéng wished Mèng Yìngxīng could say to him:
‘Don’t be afraid, even though his name is Mèng Yìngxīng, his true identity is actually the Third Young Master of a certain Wutan City!’
