“Xiaoxiao, why are you still walking toward the bikes?”
“Hm? What—oh…”
The moment they stepped out of the elevator, Su Xiaoxiao had instinctively headed for the bicycle parking area. Su Xiao Zi’s reminder made her realize: her current body couldn’t possibly ride that big bike anymore.
They usually biked to nearby places, but today they’d have to switch transportation.
“You’ll have to get used to it fast. This change has definitely shaken up your daily life.”
“Yeah… so how are we getting to the mall today?”
“Taxi!”
Cars streamed endlessly along the city streets.
Su Xiao Zi stood at the complex entrance and waved. The driver she’d already booked through an app was waiting nearby. The car slowly turned and pulled up in front of them.
The window rolled down, revealing a refined-looking auntie behind the wheel. She gave the two girls a warm smile.
“To the downtown mall?”
“Yep!”
Su Xiao Zi let Su Xiaoxiao climb in first, then slid in right after, both settling in the back seat.
It would take about twenty minutes.
Su Xiaoxiao sat silently by the window, watching tall buildings flash by. Suddenly, someone poked her arm. She turned, puzzled.
“What is it?”
“Want to sit in big sister’s lap?”
Su Xiao Zi sat up straight, legs pressed neatly together, and patted her soft, pale thighs invitingly.
Su Xiaoxiao glanced down for half a second, then turned back to the window, totally uninterested.
“There’s plenty of space. Stop treating me like a little kid.”
The auntie in the driver’s seat chuckled at that. She glanced at them through the rear-view mirror and spoke in a crisp, mature voice:
“You two girls are sisters, right?”
“Yes! Xiaoxiao’s my little sister. She’s in sixth grade—just about to graduate elementary school.”
Before Su Xiaoxiao could react, Su Xiao Zi answered for her. The auntie looked in the mirror again.
“Then she is still a kid.”
“See? Even Auntie says you’re a kid. Kids should listen to their big sisters and sit on my lap.”
Su Xiaoxiao had no idea what her face looked like right now, but she could feel a dark, chaotic storm churning inside her.
In the end, Su Xiao Zi simply wrapped her arms around Su Xiaoxiao’s waist and pulled her straight into her lap, locking her hands in front and hugging her close.
“You two have such a good relationship. No school today?”
“The school’s under construction, so we got the day off. I’m taking my little sister out to play,” Su Xiao Zi answered with a beaming smile.
“Oh, I see.”
“I’m kinda annoyed for some reason… being treated like an elementary schooler…”
Su Xiaoxiao grumbled softly in Su Xiao Zi’s arms.
“Elementary schoolers are the cutest, though.”
“Hey, got your phone? Lend it to me.”
“Who are you calling?”
“The police. There’s a dangerous person here who likes little kids. Gotta report her before it’s too late!” This time she was the one calling 110.
Su Xiao Zi froze, puffed up her cheeks in mock anger, and hugged her even tighter.
“You wouldn’t do that.”
“I totally would.”
“You wouldn’t!”
Su Xiaoxiao stopped arguing. After a brief silence, they both smiled at the same time, perfectly in sync.
Still… this felt awkward. Su Xiao Zi’s thighs were soft and springy—super comfy to sit on. But being pressed together like this stirred a strange sense of embarrassment.
If she leaned back, her head would rest right on Su Xiao Zi’s chest. That sensation alone made her panic.
Before becoming a girl, she’d never even had a girlfriend—just female classmates she chatted with sometimes. She was a homebody who mostly played games or hung out with guy friends.
Having almost zero experience touching a girl’s body made her desperately want to escape.
Sadly, aside from her time in the Exterminator Corps, her personal life had been pretty lonely.
So in the end, Su Xiaoxiao sat up perfectly straight and proper, back rigid, tiny fists clenched neatly in front of her, cheeks faintly pink.
Su Xiao Zi tilted her head, noticing the tension.
“Embarrassed?”
“N-No! Who’d be embarrassed by their own sister? Not me.”
“Hehe, then why are you blushing?”
“I’m not. You’re seeing things. It’s the sun.”
Su Xiao Zi glanced outside. They were currently in the shade of tall buildings—no sunlight at all.
“You’re that unused to being close to a girl? We’re both girls now, and we’re sisters. This is totally normal.”
“O-Okay… I’ll… try to get used to it…”
Su Xiaoxiao let out a small breath of relief.
Remembering Su Xiaoxiao’s earlier worry about her outfit, Su Xiao Zi blinked and added,
“Auntie said you look cute, so today’s look is definitely fine.”
“She didn’t say the stockings looked good.”
“They do look good—you just can’t see it yourself. Secret: I picked out Tina’s black-and-white striped stockings too. See? They look great, right?”
“But hers are stripes. Mine are one solid white and one solid black.”
“Same thing~ If you round it off, it’s basically the same.”
Su Xiao Zi hugged Su Xiaoxiao’s head and gently pulled her backward. Su Xiaoxiao’s head sank into two soft, fluffy marshmallows. Face burning, she clutched her skirt hem tightly.
This is torture… being treated like a little kid who needs to be taken care of.
