“Here’s your Maple Snow Fairy Vanilla Parfait — Autumn Limited Edition.”
“Thank you!”
The parfait arrived first, even before the mains. The ridiculously long name almost made Su Xiaoxiao want to roast it, but she held back in the end.
Maybe girls just liked that kind of thing.
The parfait was bigger than expected: a towering inverted cone in a huge glass goblet. Red and green fruit garnished the top, beneath it a pure-white snow-white layers mixed with streaks of red and orange. A single golden maple leaf leaned jauntily against the rim, topped with a cluster of cherries.
“Here, first bite for you. Say ‘ahh~’”
Su Xiao Zi scooped a small piece of ice cream, cupped her other hand carefully under the spoon, and held it out.
Su Xiaoxiao obediently opened her mouth like it was the most natural thing in the world. The spoon slid in, she closed her lips, and the ice cream was gone with a gentle pull.
The instant it melted on her tongue, a sweet coolness spread everywhere—like a clear spring flowing straight into her body.
Only downside: it was a little too cold for the current season. She couldn’t help shivering.
“Good?”
“…It’s okay, I guess…”
“Hey! ‘Okay’ is such a half-hearted answer! Also, when I said I’d feed you, you didn’t even blush! At least pretend to be shy so your big sister can enjoy it~”
“Like a super-cute ‘kyaa~’ little sister, come on, show me!”
Su Xiao Zi pouted. The scene she’d fantasized about clearly wasn’t happening.
Su Xiaoxiao had already seen through her sister’s schemes, so she deliberately acted extra casual. She spread her hands and said lightly, “I’m not playing your feeding kink with you. It’s just one bite of ice cream.”
“But a ‘kyaa~’ little sister would be adorable!”
“I’ve never seen you go ‘kyaa~’ either.”
“Cough, that’s different.”
“Sure, sure. Stop forcing weird character settings on me!”
“How mean…”
“Even if you want that expression, I can’t do it. I’m not some innocent maiden—and we’ve known each other forever.”
Su Xiaoxiao propped her cheek on one hand, sounding suddenly mature.
Su Xiao Zi protested, “Wrong! You are an innocent maiden. Anyway, now it’s your turn to feed me.”
“Huh? Fine, fine.”
Su Xiaoxiao put on her helpless-big-brother face, picked up her own spoon, and reached for the parfait— and was immediately stopped.
“Nooo, you have to use this one—the one you just had in your mouth.”
“…Huh?”
Su Xiaoxiao froze, then hesitantly accepted the spoon her sister was holding out. She swallowed hard.
Pervert? Is this what this is?
But… it was the spoon she’d just used—practically the whole thing had been in her mouth.
She was about to set it down when she looked up and saw Su Xiao Zi staring at her with sparkling, expectant eyes, hands clasped tightly together, cheeks pink.
“F-feed me…”
…Kind of cute, actually.
For a moment Su Xiaoxiao blanked out. She hadn’t thought much of it at first, but Su Xiao Zi’s reaction suddenly made her hyper-aware: They were sharing a single spoon in public and feeding each other.
To any onlooker, this was straight-up yuri anime levels of fluff!
“I can’t believe you…” Her hand trembled slightly as she scooped a bite. She stealthily glanced around, terrified someone was watching. That would be mortifying.
Luckily, their table was tucked in a corner—no one seemed to be paying attention.
Fine. She’d indulge Xiao Zi just this once.
Su Xiao Zi stayed quiet, head lowered, face flushed, waiting sweetly.
Su Xiaoxiao rubbed her forehead, carefully scooped some ice cream, and held the wobbly spoon out.
“Xiao Zi… ahh~”
“Ahh~”
Su Xiao Zi parted her cherry lips, gracefully, tucked a strand of hair behind her ear, and gently took the whole spoon into her mouth with a blissful smile.
Su Xiaoxiao tried to pull the spoon back— only to find it lightly clamped between Su Xiao Zi’s teeth.
She blinked in confusion.
Su Xiao Zi’s eyes curved into happy crescents. Su Xiaoxiao’s arm just hung there awkwardly in midair, unable to retract, her face a mix of bewilderment and embarrassment.
The moment froze like a perfect still frame.
Click.
A flash winked from the table, accompanied by the shutter sound.
Su Xiao Zi’s phone—which she’d secretly angled outward on the menu stand—had captured everything.
In the photo: outside the window, crowds and autumn colors; inside, two beautiful girls feeding each other with the same spoon, looking incredibly sweet and intimate.
Hearing the camera sound, Su Xiaoxiao panicked for a second.
She’d always hated having her picture taken; the noise alone made her flinch. Then she realized it was just her sister.
“Hehe, keepsake~”
“Lemme see…”
Su Xiaoxiao leaned over to peek at the freshly taken photo and unconsciously muttered,
“…I really am cute, huh. Me.”
She felt like she’d accidentally gone way past cute into full-on moe territory.
