Join the ServerAt this stage, Bai YuYang’s strategy towards other girls was to avoid them. However, when it came to Mo Sishi, he still hoped to follow the trajectory of their previous life.
After all, Bai YuYang had already chosen her before his rebirth. Even in this life, he had no intention of deliberately avoiding her.
Regardless of the circumstances, Bai YuYang would not, and did not wish to, let this encounter slip away.
Still, these were matters for the future. According to the current timeline, he and Mo Sishi should have had no interaction yet.
Speaking of which, Mo Sishi truly possessed remarkable composure. It was already their second year of high school, and throughout her first year, she had been a complete loner, without a single friend in class.
Bai YuYang clearly remembered their first formal face-to-face conversation had been in the school library.
But the exact time and catalyst for that meeting? Who could possibly recall such details now?
However.
Coincidentally, Bai YuYang was never one to stick to convention.
Did their first meeting absolutely have to be in the library?
Who decreed such a rule?
Bai YuYang let out a wry chuckle. Mo Sishi might not remember anything, but he already knew everything about her.
*Ahem*… that was to say, a mental understanding!
Therefore, Bai YuYang naturally knew how, at this stage, to utter a single sentence that would strike a chord with her innermost feelings.
Amidst the classroom’s din, Bai YuYang leaned forward from his seat, cupping his hands around his mouth like a megaphone.
He then whispered to Mo Sishi, “Classmate Mo Sishi, Classmate Mo Sishi?”
The sound was just loud enough for her to hear.
“Eh?”
Mo Sishi initially showed no reaction. She seemed to be repeatedly confirming something, glancing left and right. Only after ensuring there was no one else around did she slowly turn halfway, still seated.
Pointing to herself with a bewildered finger, she asked, “Um… are you calling me?”
“There isn’t a second Mo Sishi in our class, is there?” Bai YuYang shrugged helplessly.
Even after confirming this, Mo Sishi seemed to hesitate for a long while.
Then, in a soft, tentative voice, she asked, “C-Class Monitor, is there something you need from me?”
*Whoa*, so the early second-year Sishi was this cautious? She later became so dazzling and brilliant.
In truth, the first time Bai YuYang saw her true appearance, he was astonished. To have three such astonishingly beautiful individuals at Qifeng First High School at the same time was truly a once-in-a-century rarity.
There was Tang Qihuang in the third year, Mo Sishi in the second year, and the last one in the first year… *hehe*, of course, that was his adorable younger sister, Bai YuXi.
Bai YuYang tried his best not to show any superfluous emotion.
Maintaining a natural demeanor, he said, “Actually, it’s nothing much. I was just a little shocked by your handwriting when I passed by your desk. Have you practiced calligraphy for several years?”
Knowing the answer and still asking was a skill in itself.
But Mo Sishi merely shook her head, responding simply, “N-No.”
*Hmph*… You’ve been practicing calligraphy since childhood, and you say no? Do you think you can fool me?
Without exposing her, Bai YuYang smiled and said, “Oh, you haven’t studied it? Then that’s even more impressive. I’m sure if there were any calligraphy competitions, Classmate Mo would definitely win an award just by signing up!”
“How could I…”
“Alright, no need to be modest. Well, I’ll leave you to it for now; I still need to help the teacher fetch some lesson materials, so I won’t disturb your studies.”
Knowing when to quit gracefully—that was Bai YuYang’s tact.
Sishi, during their first encounter, had been trying her best to disguise herself for certain reasons, making herself inconspicuous, wishing only to be a small transparent presence.
Yet, she also desperately wished to receive praise and recognition.
It was contradictory, wasn’t it? But that was indeed Mo Sishi’s psychology; Bai YuYang understood her so well.
Presumably, this round of praise would at least lay the groundwork for normal communication with her in the future, wouldn’t it?
Continuing the conversation further might make Mo Sishi uncomfortable, so Bai YuYang ended it on a good note.
He stood up, preparing to go to the office to help the teacher with documents. The class monitor always bore the heaviest burdens!
Seizing the opportunity, Mo Sishi quickly turned back around, burying her head in her workbook.
Who knew what she was thinking?
The classroom remained noisy. It wouldn’t quiet down until the teacher arrived.
As Bai YuYang walked to the front row, he noticed Lin QingYu glaring at him with a fierce, angry expression, like a small tiger.
“?”
Bai YuYang paused. “QingYu, what’s wrong now? I made you late today, but haven’t I already apologized? Let’s not drag this on endlessly.”
“What did you just say to her…”
Lin QingYu’s first words were utterly baffling.
“Huh?”
“I said! What did you just say to that girl in front of you!”
“N-Nothing much. QingYu, why are you so angry?”
How could she not be anxious?
QingYu had also been reborn, and she naturally understood the immense threat Mo Sishi posed; she was Bai YuYang’s final choice.
Although she had no right to prevent their meeting, she couldn’t just stand by and watch herself lose again, could she?
Calming herself slightly, she huffed, crossed her arms over her chest, and said nonchalantly, “I’m just worried you’re going to mess with her! Bai YuYang, you only have that face of yours. That little girl in front of you looks quite honest; don’t go preying on honest kids!”
“I’m not some hooligan…” Bai YuYang was speechless. “I really didn’t say anything, just a brief greeting. If there’s nothing else, I’ll go ahead… QingYu, what’s wrong with your arm?”
Something was amiss. Why had QingYu kept her right arm straight and hanging down since earlier?
Her usual habit was always to rest both arms on the desk.
At Bai YuYang’s question, QingYu, as if putting on a brave front, moved her arm back onto the desk.
“I’m fine! Alright, go do what you need to do. Don’t blame me for delaying you again!”
“Don’t speak.”
Without asking for her permission, Bai YuYang grabbed her right arm.
“What are you doing?!”
“I told you not to speak.”
When Bai YuYang touched her wrist, a clear expression of pain flickered across the little萝莉’s face.
So, Bai YuYang carefully rolled up her sleeve, just to her wrist.
Fortunately, this萝莉 was only fierce with her words; her actions were as compliant as ever, offering no resistance.
Then Bai YuYang looked down and saw a large area of redness, swelling, and abrasions on her wrist.
Such superficial injuries were not serious, but on QingYu’s delicate wrist, they looked particularly heartbreaking.
Bai YuYang frowned. “How did this happen?”
“Can I not say? It’s not important anyway.” QingYu seemed reluctant to speak.
“No.” Bai YuYang said definitively. “This is an injury! How can I just let it slide? What exactly happened? Tell me the truth!”
*Ugh*… every time Bai YuYang became this serious, QingYu couldn’t maintain her tsundere facade!
“I…”
She hesitated for a long time, finally covering her face with her other hand, forced to confess the truth.
“I… I fell on the gravel path outside the auditorium just now and hit that big cobblestone next to it! It’s all because you cursed me! Are you satisfied now?! *Wuwu*…”
Of course, QingYu spoke softly this time. She was too embarrassed to announce such a humiliating incident loudly.
What did she mean, ‘all because I cursed her’?
Bai YuYang carefully recalled what he had said to QingYu in the auditorium.
He thought he had told her to be careful not to trip on flat ground, hadn’t he?
“So, you *really* fell flat on your face?!”
