Join the ServerConsidering this, they barely qualified as a pathetic organization.
The moment the student council arrived to disperse them, they scattered like startled birds. Those who spent their days causing such aimless trouble certainly lacked the competence to join the student council.
Yet, speaking of the student council…
He wondered what Tang Qihuang’s current situation might be.
Lifting his gaze, Bai YuYang looked out from the window towards the student council’s distant clock tower, a peculiar sense of melancholy settling within him.
Fortunately, this internal struggle did not linger for long.
“Class Monitor! Class Monitor! A few more girls have come to deliver love letters for you! I think they’re first-years this time!”
The girl closest to the door, clutching several exquisite envelopes, called out playfully in Bai YuYang’s direction.
Before Bai YuYang could even react, several classmates in the front row had already begun their usual teasing.
“Really? The Class Monitor actually gets three love letters a day?”
“Three? Are you underestimating him? Add another zero!”
“Just add a zero? Do you know why those colorful card papers at the supermarket near the school gate are always sold out?”
See? This is how baseless rumors often start.
It was then that Bai YuYang remembered. Yesterday was just the first day of school, which was why it had been peaceful. Thinking back to his high school years, he did indeed receive all sorts of love letters daily.
While not as exaggerated as his classmates claimed, an average of three letters a day might actually be accurate.
Everyone was accustomed to it by now; those who were envious had long since grown numb, so at most, they would just tease him a little.
Perhaps two people in the class reacted even faster than those responsible for the teasing.
Mo Sishi and Lin QingYu. Both had cast incredibly swift glances towards the door, then retracted their gazes just as quickly.
Outwardly, it seemed as if nothing had happened, but internally, a storm of thoughts raged.
Bai YuYang moved away from the window and walked to the door, taking the beautifully designed envelopes from the girl’s hand.
He didn’t look at them. Instead, he simply glanced outside the door and asked, “Where are they? Did they run off again?”
“Aren’t you just asking the obvious, Class Monitor?” The girl leaning by the door chuckled helplessly. “I receive love letters for you here every day. Which one of them doesn’t just drop the letter in class and then run? Oh, if you ask me, Class Monitor, you should just install a mailbox by the classroom door. After all, those girls are too shy to confess to you directly.”
“If I actually installed a mailbox, the student council would probably ‘eliminate’ me in minutes.”
Bai YuYang shrugged helplessly. He knew how he used to handle these letters.
So, just as before, he walked past Lin QingYu’s desk.
Lin QingYu obligingly looked up and asked impatiently, “The usual?”
“Yes, the usual. I’ll trouble you.”
No words were needed; between childhood friends, a deep understanding permeated the air.
Bai YuYang handed the letters to Lin QingYu. She first glanced at the envelopes, then, without hesitation, tore them into shreds, placing the confetti into the small plastic bag for waste paper beside her desk.
Lin QingYu felt utterly vindicated!
These vixens, appearing from who knew where, kept writing love letters to Bai YuYang day after day! It was endless!
‘Seriously, who even are you people?!’
These girls hadn’t even exchanged a single word with Bai YuYang, knowing nothing about him, yet they kept sending love letters every day. Were they out of their minds?
Such were Lin QingYu’s thoughts. Every time she saw someone inexplicably hand Bai YuYang a love letter at the door, she felt a surge of irritation.
How to put it… she might not realize it herself, but in that moment, she was perhaps the embodiment of a jealous rival.
As for Bai YuYang, he found it quite bothersome.
He had no intention of dating during high school. Even if someone wrote a love letter, he had no desire to read it.
It had been the same in his previous life, let alone this life, where his heart already belonged to those few girls.
When it came to love letters, there was no rule that simply because someone wrote one, he had to read it.
That said, these were, after all, letters written word by word by others. Bai YuYang felt uncomfortable directly disposing of them, so he could only ask Lin QingYu for help.
Lin QingYu, the little ‘loli,’ tidied up the paper shreds, acting completely nonchalant.
“Just so you know, even though I help you like this every time, you’re the one who asked me to tear them up. So, essentially, you tore them up yourself!”
“Mhm, I know. Thank you, QingYu.”
“Hmph!”
Good heavens, a mischievous ‘loli’ who tore things up so happily but wanted no blame whatsoever.
Having finished, Bai YuYang intended to return to his seat; it should be nearly class time.
But before he could, Lin QingYu grabbed his sleeve.
“QingYu?”
“Wait a moment, I want to ask you something.”
Lin QingYu released his hand, hesitating for a long while before tentatively asking,
“Bai YuYang, you tear up love letters like this every time. Don’t you ever… think about starting a relationship?”
“Not at all.”
Bai YuYang replied without thinking, “I don’t have the time, nor the inclination. Between studying, working, and taking care of YuXi, dating? I’d have to be out of my mind.”
“That’s true. Given YuXi’s personality, if she found out you were dating, she’d probably go crazy.”
“Ahaha… I don’t think YuXi is that exaggerated.”
“No self-awareness.” Lin QingYu first mumbled softly, then waved her hand and said, “Alright, alright, hurry up and go. Don’t disturb my reading.”
“You’re the one who called me over…”
“Hm?!”
“No, I’m going now.”
It was a bite and head-butt warning from the ‘loli.’
Watching Bai YuYang walk back to his seat, Lin QingYu felt a sense of relief.
How to put it… at least she confirmed that he had no intention of dating at this stage. That meant there was still time to change things.
With about a minute left before class, Bai YuYang heard the sound of running. He looked up to see Luo Hao and Qi Liang, who had been chasing each other out of the classroom, returning.
Both were panting heavily, clearly out of breath from their antics and forced to rush back for class.
Luo Hao wiped a bead of sweat from his brow and exclaimed as he entered the classroom,
“Well, aren’t you a sneaky one, always hiding your true self! Unlike my Brother Yang, who’s always so forthright!”
Then… he overheard the front row discussing how Bai YuYang had received more love letters.
‘Ah… my always forthright Brother Yang, he’s forthrightly received love letters again.’
The blow, once again, struck without resistance.
Gritting his teeth, Luo Hao turned and ran out of the classroom once more.
“Aargh, I’m going to die! May all normies explode!”
“Haozi! Live!”
Bai YuYang stood up and shouted to him, unsure if he heard the hopeful plea.
He had barely left when their homeroom teacher, Qin Yan, walked in, clutching her textbooks.
She was still her usual languid self, scribbling something simply on the attendance sheet, muttering as she wrote.
“Luo Hao, one absence… noted.”
‘Haozi!!’
‘Right. This time, you’re truly dead, beyond saving.’
After finishing her notes, Qin Yan looked around the classroom. Seeing everyone present except Luo Hao, she opened the multimedia projector, preparing to start class.
“First, open your textbooks to where we left off yesterday. Oh, right.”
She suddenly looked up, towards Bai YuYang.
“I almost forgot, Bai YuYang, the student council just told me to have you go over there after class. I’m afraid I’ll forget to tell you later, so I’m letting you know now, don’t forget.”
