Just one shout!
It was enough to make Bai YuYang temporarily cast aside all unscientific notions of time reversal or past transmigration.
Many things remained uncertain, and there was no point in racking his brain over matters he couldn’t possibly comprehend.
This was YuYang’s initial assessment.
Furthermore, he couldn’t be certain that events from his previous life would unfold identically in this one, so he had no choice but to take things one step at a time.
For instance, the immediate priority was to deal with the person at the door who was knocking and shouting—no, ‘smashing’ the door seemed a more fitting description than merely ‘knocking’.
In any case, he needed to settle her down first. She was quite a troublesome individual.
Lin QingYu was a childhood friend, having grown up playing alongside YuYang and YuXi since they were small.
When they were children, living in courtyard houses, their families were neighbors. Now, having moved into city apartments, their families had still managed to buy units directly across from each other.
This was clearly a deliberate arrangement by their parents.
If his memory served him right, in his previous life, Lin QingYu’s habit of smashing his door like this was hardly a rare occurrence.
YuYang quickly changed, his hand instinctively reaching for the suit he usually wore, hanging on the clothes rack.
But he grasped at nothing.
He didn’t even touch the clothes rack, let alone a suit.
The clothes rack hadn’t been bought yet.
“Oh, my memory! I’ve actually transmigrated back… Ahem, how can I be so calm about this? Bai YuYang, you truly are a genius.”
‘Hmm… YuYang could be quite narcissistic at times.’
He was long accustomed to wearing the school uniform now laid out on his bed. After years of not wearing it, a sense of nostalgia washed over him.
Smoothing out the small wrinkles on the fabric and tying his necktie, YuYang glanced at himself in the full-length mirror.
Indeed, it was his appearance from several years ago.
He was merely accustomed to seeing himself, but if any girl were to stand here, they would likely find Bai YuYang’s inescapable, damned charm utterly irresistible.
He possessed dark hair and eyes, a tall and straight posture, and an extraordinary handsomeness.
The heroic spirit between his brows overflowed, and his delicate features seemed sculpted by the heavens themselves.
Paired with the round-neck, black-and-white school uniform, he exuded a vibrant, youthful aura.
Although he was a few centimeters shorter than his working self, he already stood at one meter eighty-two.
“Hmm, not bad, not ugly at all.”
YuYang ran a hand through his fringe, sweeping it to the right, and nodded.
It was time to wash up. Hadn’t YuXi mentioned today was the opening ceremony?
He knew he had to leave the house to investigate and understand the current situation.
Just as he was about to step out of his room…
“Bai YuYang!! Are you taking a nap in there?! You told me to wait outside, can’t you hurry up?! Do you want me to be late for the first day of school with you two?!
The voice grew closer.
It was accompanied by rapid footsteps.
YuYang stopped, placing a hand on his forehead with a sigh.
‘Alright, don’t move. Prepare for the storm.’
Sure enough, in the next second, his room door was flung open with a bang, as if it had been rammed.
The force was so great that YuYang wouldn’t have been surprised if a wild boar had burst in.
Yet, the person who entered was, paradoxically, not a wild boar, but…
A small loli with cherry-blossom pink hair and eyes of the same hue, charging in furiously, yet completely unthreatening.
This was YuYang’s childhood friend, Lin QingYu.
Calling her a ‘loli’ was not an exaggeration; in fact, it was incredibly apt.
Just look at her.
At this time, she was already eighteen years old, yet her height barely reached one meter fifty. Even her school uniform was a specially made, smaller version of the smallest size.
The most tragic part was that even seven years later, Lin QingYu would remain this height, having not grown an inch.
Her naturally curly, cherry-blossom pink hair cascaded to her waist, and her appearance was extremely adorable… at least, when she wasn’t looking so ‘fierce’.
‘Honestly, QingYu, you’re not scary at all!’
Whenever she acted so fierce, YuYang always imagined a little tiger letting out tiny ‘ooh-woo, ooh-woo’ growls.
This little tiger, having burst in, didn’t stop, charging straight at YuYang without hesitation.
“YuYang, prepare yourself! Take this headbutt!”
“Hey, hey, hey! Watch out, be careful!”
YuYang had no intention of dodging. If he moved, this clumsy loli would surely crash into either the cabinet or a chair.
Neither option would be pleasant, so if there was to be any harm, YuYang would bear it!
YuYang first felt a considerable push against his waist, and then…
Then he barely moved an inch, and the pressure on his waist vanished.
“Oh my!”
Lin QingYu, who had charged with all her might, was too light. The moment she collided with YuYang, she bounced back.
With a clang, she stumbled several steps backward before falling to the ground…
“Is that all? Ahem… no, wait! QingYu, are you alright?”
Saying this, YuYang moved to help her up.
But Lin QingYu was not one to need assistance. She was a strong and stubborn loli.
“I’m fine!” The little girl clearly refused to admit defeat, scrambling back to her feet in a single bound.
Perhaps feeling she had lost face from the fall, she placed her hands on her hips and said indignantly,
“Just wait until I grow taller! We’ll see if you can still be so arrogant then!”
‘No, no, no… I’m not being arrogant at all. You were the one who charged and fell.’
Almost as soon as she finished speaking, Bai YuXi came jogging over, panting slightly.
“Haah… Sorry, big brother… I couldn’t stop her. Sister QingYu just charges headfirst, she’s not like a person at all.”
“You’re not like a person! You little brat! How can you insult people like that?!”
“But it really is your fault, Sister QingYu…”
Seeing these two lively spirits about to quarrel, Bai YuYang quickly intervened.
“Ah haha… Alright, alright, what’s all this fuss about so early in the morning? QingYu, weren’t you here to tell me to go to school?”
“That’s right!” Lin QingYu’s anger flared up again at the mention of it. “YuYang, how dare you say that? You told me yesterday to wait outside, and we’d go to the opening ceremony together. Bai YuXi was even there listening. And what happened? I waited outside for twenty minutes, and now we’re almost late, yet you two clumsy siblings aren’t worried at all?!”
“Pfft…”
Her words not only amused YuYang but also made YuXi忍不住 let out a light chuckle.
She looked so anxious, yet she kept chattering, determined to explain everything clearly, which was simply adorable.
Although Lin QingYu always thought her personality was fiery.
YuYang, however, believed her personality was cuteness itself, just like YuXi—both seemed to have grown up on a diet of pure adorableness.
YuYang extended his palm towards her, signaling her to quiet down.
“Stop! Alright, QingYu, I understand. Since we’re already late, there’s nothing we can do, right? Go sit on the sofa and have some water. I haven’t even washed up yet. Once I’m ready, we’ll all leave together.”
“You haven’t washed up yet?! You’re not in a hurry at all, are you?”
“Since it’s already late, what’s the point of rushing? Be good, QingYu.”
As YuYang spoke, he reached out and gently patted the top of her head.
“You scoundrel, don’t treat me like a child!”
Despite her retort, Lin QingYu merely averted her gaze, her face slightly flushed, showing no resistance whatsoever, nor did she move YuYang’s hand from her head.
Before heading to the washroom, YuYang suddenly paused, turning back to ask,
“By the way, QingYu, YuXi, do you two remember the cake I bought for you yesterday evening?”
This was a sudden test.
Because the ‘cake bought last night’ was from the ‘yesterday evening’ of his previous life, when YuYang had managed to snag a special limited-edition cake and brought it back for them to share.
He wanted to gauge their reactions to this incident.
“Cake? What are you talking about, Big Brother? No one had a birthday yesterday,” YuXi asked, confused.
“He probably just wanted to eat cake. Honestly, how pathetic,” Lin QingYu merely shrugged, dismissive.
In response, YuYang simply smiled, “Is that so? Never mind, I was just kidding. Go wait on the sofa for a bit; I’ll be right there.”
‘At this stage, it seems they don’t remember anything from the ‘previous life’.’
‘But…’ YuYang pondered.
‘If I recall carefully, did any of these things happen on the day of the opening ceremony in my previous life?’
‘Like QingYu crashing into me and falling just now.’
‘Even if I can’t remember such details, YuYang is certain that in his previous life, he wasn’t late for this opening ceremony.’
‘The reason for being late now is that YuYang himself overslept.’
‘Which means…’
‘Events from the previous life do not necessarily perfectly align with this one.’
‘Right?’
