Join the ServerUpon reaching the office, Bai YuYang failed to find a single teacher.
This was quite an awkward predicament.
He had just been thinking of heroically taking the blame for his sister and childhood friend, making a cool gesture, but it had all gone spectacularly awry.
“Ah, so… everyone went to the auditorium? I thought after all this dawdling, the opening ceremony would have ended by now.”
However, this wasn’t a problem.
Bai YuYang, walking ahead, turned around and said, “You two come with me first. We’ll participate in the opening ceremony for a bit. Once it’s over, you can both head back to your classrooms. I’ll explain the tardiness to the teachers.”
“Will Big Brother get lectured…?” Bai YuXi looked a little guilty, even though it wasn’t her fault at all.
“No, he won’t,” Bai YuYang chuckled. “YuXi, you might not know this since you’re new to high school, but our homeroom teacher… well, he’s a bit different from normal people. If he talks to your class teacher, everything will be fine.”
On the other side, Lin QingYu stood with her hands on her hips, looking fiercely indignant.
“He deserves to be lectured!” She was not as compassionate as Bai YuXi. “This is all your fault for oversleeping, Bai YuYang. You don’t deserve an ounce of sympathy!”
Having delivered her scathing remarks, she followed closely behind Bai YuYang, tentatively adding,
“But if you ask me nicely… it wouldn’t be impossible for me to go to the office with you… Ow!”
Lin QingYu yelped in surprise. So engrossed had she been in her words that she hadn’t noticed Bai YuYang suddenly stop in front of her. She crashed head-first into his back.
She nearly stumbled and fell again.
“What are you doing?! Why did you suddenly stop? What are you looking at…?”
Hmm? Why had even Bai YuXi stopped?
Curiosity spurred the petite Lin QingYu to circle around Bai YuYang and follow his gaze.
And there it was: a dazzling streak of gold.
Across the corridor, a girl, holding several documents, was walking gracefully towards the auditorium.
The girl possessed a slender figure, yet her chest was by no means flat. It harmonized perfectly with her overall physique, complementing her form exquisitely.
Her steps were steady, and every gesture exuded the utmost in etiquette and refinement.
A long cascade of golden hair fluttered in the breeze, utterly mesmerizing, while her crimson eyes were captivating.
Perhaps, at first glance, the aura she exuded could only be described with two words:
Noble and elegant.
She stood about 170 centimeters tall, dressed in the Qifeng No. 1 High School uniform, but with a distinctive red armband on her sleeve. The large characters for “Student Council” on the armband were strikingly prominent.
Even in terms of appearance, she could likely rival Bai YuXi.
*Cough*… Of course, in Bai YuYang’s heart, his little Xi was the absolute cutest!
Indeed, this was the Student Council President of Qifeng No. 1 High School.
She was also the daughter of the school chairman, a true young lady of wealth and status: Tang Qihuang.
As for why Bai YuYang had stopped dead in his tracks…
Tang Qihuang was one of the girls who had liked Bai YuYang in his previous life.
She could even be considered the most assertive among them.
Seeing her now, Bai YuYang felt a wave of emotion, a mix of sentimentality, a touch of a headache, and a sense of helplessness.
His immediate instinct was to stop, to avoid being seen by her.
Wait… that’s not right. She’s most likely not reborn, so she wouldn’t recognize him. Why was he hiding like a fool?
However, his instinctive movement to hide had been witnessed by both Bai YuXi and Lin QingYu.
They both confirmed it once more: Bai YuYang had definitely been reborn.
Watching Bai YuYang stare at Tang Qihuang’s retreating figure, Bai YuXi inexplicably felt a surge of anger.
She lightly poked Bai YuYang’s back.
“Big Brother! I told you… at least don’t stare so directly at other girls!”
“Huh? Oh… sorry, I just… oh right, I was just curious why the Student Council President was there. No other meaning.”
Lin QingYu scoffed disdainfully, “Heh, I bet you were looking at her chest. Hmph, two lumps of fat, what’s the use? I don’t understand, completely don’t understand.”
Yes, QingYu, for things you don’t possess, you naturally wouldn’t understand.
Just as you cannot comprehend what lies at the edge of the universe.
A flat prairie will never grasp the majesty of Mount Everest.
It was the same principle.
Bai YuXi, however, understood this principle quite well.
“Haha… Sister QingYu, you’re just sour-graping again.”
“I am not! And YuXi, you’re not much better yourself!”
“You two, stop it… Quiet down. It’s not good to attract the Student Council President’s attention.”
Bai YuYang whispered a warning.
He wasn’t afraid of being punished for running around during the opening ceremony. He was purely afraid that attracting her would lead to unnecessary encounters.
He had already resolved this lifetime to avoid these girls.
But alas, Lin QingYu’s voice was too loud. Inevitably, it caught Tang Qihuang’s attention.
Without a hint of panic, she turned her head. When she saw the three figures not far away, a flicker of surprise crossed her eyes.
Then, she turned fully, walked a few steps towards them, and stopped a few meters from Bai YuYang.
I told you, QingYu! You need to fix that loud voice of yours!
Left with no choice, Bai YuYang could only look up.
Tang Qihuang placed her hands in front of her, and slowly, in an ethereal voice, she spoke.
“Three students, the opening ceremony is currently underway. Could you please explain why you are running around campus?”
‘Does Huang’er not carry her past memories…’
Bai YuYang couldn’t quite pinpoint his feelings. He felt a sense of relief, yet also a touch of sadness.
Shielding Bai YuXi and Lin QingYu behind him, Bai YuYang took a step forward.
Well, he might not be good at other things, but after working for a year, finding excuses? That was his specialty!
Spouting plausible lies came as naturally as breathing.
“President, I apologize for disturbing your work. Actually, these two are my classmates. We just came out temporarily to help a teacher deliver documents to the office. The documents have been delivered, and we are now heading back to the auditorium. Are you also heading that way?”
Bai YuYang’s smooth explanation sounded nothing like a high school student. Anyone else might have been thrown off balance.
But Tang Qihuang was indeed the Student Council President. She merely brushed a strand of golden hair, slightly disheveled by the wind, and responded, word for word.
“Student, the auditorium entrance is currently restricted; you cannot exit without signing out. You claim to have delivered documents, but I just came from the auditorium, and there is no record of your departure.”
Mmm, that’s the familiar taste of her.
Thinking back, Huang’er had been known as the “strongest Student Council President in history” during her time at school.
Not just because of her beautiful appearance and wealthy background.
Her work capability and seriousness were impeccable.
However, her questioning did not faze Bai YuYang. After all, he had been reborn.
Being reborn meant he possessed more information.
He calmly replied, “President, I think you should ask your Student Council members about this issue.”
“Oh? What do you mean by that?”
“When I exited the auditorium earlier, the Student Council members responsible for recording were all playing games in the resting area outside the door.
I called out for them to sign me out, but no one responded. Fearing I would delay matters, I simply left. You can investigate this; I suspect they might still be playing there now.”
This was not Bai YuYang slandering them.
He remembered this incident vividly.
In his previous life, during the opening ceremony, Tang Qihuang had flown into a terrible rage after discovering her Student Council members slacking off.
“So, President, aren’t you going to catch them now? You won’t be able to catch them in the act later. Oh, right, remember to take the small path to avoid startling them.”
“…”
Tang Qihuang looked at Bai YuYang, her beautiful brows furrowed, seemingly in a dilemma.
Finally, she sighed softly and spoke.
“Very well, student. If what you say is true, I thank you for your feedback.
If your words are false, I will investigate to the end, and you will bear responsibility for freely running around campus during public activities and for slandering Student Council members.”
“Do as you please. I merely stated what I saw.”
With that, Tang Qihuang secured her documents, turned elegantly, and prepared to leave.
“You all should also return to the auditorium quickly.”
She had turned away, so Bai YuYang naturally couldn’t see.
At that moment, the unknown, satisfied smile gracing Tang Qihuang’s stern face was truly beautiful.
