Chapter 64: The True Enemy

With a deafening roar.

Tina’s bold and decisive slash cut the large Otherworldly Beast in two.
Its massive body was engulfed in the furiously burning, eerie blue flames, gradually turning to ash and dissipating into the air.

Su Xiao Zi had been clenching her fists tightly to her chest.
Seeing the battle was over, she finally breathed a sigh of relief.
She quickly ran to Tina’s side, threw her arms around her, and said with relief after the scare:

“Phew, that scared me to death!”
“This is the first time I’ve ever fought such a big Otherworldly Beast.”
“Thank goodness Tina is so strong.”
“I could only provide a little bit of support from the side.”

‘I really do lack a lot of experience.’

‘If this continues, what will I do if we encounter a powerful Bloodkin?’
‘I’m supposed to be Tina’s instructor, but she was the only one fighting with all her might, while I could only offer some insignificant assistance.’

Su Xiao Zi felt a sense of inferiority in her heart.

To be honest, when she saw that huge Otherworldly Beast just now, she had become extremely nervous.
Her legs had been trembling slightly, and her heart was pounding wildly.

That feeling was just like being submerged underwater, her chest felt so tight that it was hard to breathe.

She originally thought she would handle the situation more naturally and easily, but the pressure of actual combat was much heavier than she had imagined.

A moment of carelessness could have resulted in death.

When a monster the size of a truck was lunging at her, she couldn’t keep calm at all.
She had broken out in a cold sweat.
Fortunately, Tina was there to protect her.

“Little Tina, are you hurt anywhere?”

This was the first thing Su Xiao Zi said after running over to hug Tina.

But Tina seemed completely unconcerned about the condition of her body.
At most, the high-speed movements had required her to increase engine power, causing a slight rise in her internal temperature.

“Eh, Tina, your body feels a little hot.”

“No problem.”
“It’s just a system overload phenomenon.”
“Natural cooling will suffice,” Tina said impassively.

Just as the two confirmed that the large Otherworldly Beast at the target location had been eliminated, almost at the same time, both Tina and Su Xiao Zi felt another kind of oppressive force.

It wasn’t the fluctuation of an Otherworldly Beast, but a completely different power that was constantly approaching.

“What’s going on?”
“Is it the enemy?”
Relying on her perception as a junior Exterminator, Su Xiao Zi could clearly sense multiple enemies steadily approaching.

And the situation was rather bad.

This presence came from all directions, surrounding them like an inescapable net.
No matter which direction, enemies were closing in.

This fact was also confirmed by Tina’s navigation system.

On the scanner, numerous red dots representing enemies were continuously encircling them—
they were the true enemies in this defensive battle, the vampires of the Rose Legion.

“Little Tina.”

“Mhm, I understand, Instructor.”
“Tina is on high alert.”

By the time Su Xiao Zi thought to warn Tina, she had already re-armed herself completely.
She bent forward slightly, propulsion units attached to her legs, which were clad in black and white striped stockings.
She held the two laser rifles tightly in her hands.

The moment an enemy entered her attack range, she would deliver a piercing strike.

A dozen or so Bloodkin in white robes landed one after another on the school building.
On every floor, in every hallway, stood figures dressed in the same attire.

In the darkness, their crimson eyes were exceptionally brilliant, like bats lurking in the dead of night, waiting for a chance to ambush.

There were no nobles among them, but the difference in numbers was too vast.

“Sir, that human girl seems to be the one Lord Sheffield is looking for.”

“Looks like we’re quite lucky.”
“We can’t just let such a great merit slip by,” a purple-haired vampire said with a smile.

“However, it’s rather unexpected that they could deal with a large Otherworldly Beast so easily.”
“Capture that human girl.”
“The other one is a mechanical human weapon, right?”
“Just destroy it.”

“Yes.”
