Chapter 23: Who Said You Could Change Back?

With a flicker, Su Xiaoxiao vanished from Tina’s sight.

The crisis level immediately dropped to green. Tina paused, as if confirming the information’s authenticity. Once confirmed, she put away the self-destruct device.

She raised her head, looking at the sky in the direction Su Xiaoxiao had left.

Feeling somewhat stuffy, she couldn’t help but fan her face with her hand.

“Heat overload imminent, Tina must withdraw. Successfully cleared Beyond Beasts within school campus, and repelled Bloodkin…” Tina paused, seemingly realizing something was amiss, then quietly murmured:

“The crisis was resolved by a fifth Bloodkin who appeared outside of intelligence. Enemy attacked enemy…”

“The fifth Bloodkin who appeared knew Tina’s designation for some unknown reason.”

‘“Little Tina,” this is an unreasonable designation. Only two people would use this designation.’

‘But why do both the former instructor and the current vice instructor consistently like to call me that… is it a coincidence?’

Su Xiaoxiao, leaving in a hurry, was a bit disheveled.

She hadn’t expected to encounter Tina, nor that because her current Bloodkin frequency was detected, she almost ended up fighting her – in Tina’s eyes, she was now an enemy…

“Oh? Do you know that girl from just now?” After a long silence, Evran’s voice gently emerged from behind Su Xiaoxiao as she left.

“Yes, I used to be that child’s instructor, but in this form, she couldn’t recognize me, which is why we almost fought.”

“Oh~ Though I don’t quite understand, it sounds very impressive. She’s also a cute girl, you certainly have a lot of girls around you,” Evran chuckled.

Su Xiaoxiao wasn’t sure if Evran’s remark was a compliment or an insult, and she scratched her somewhat messy silver hair.

“Actually, when I was a rookie Exterminator, Tina was my instructor… of course, that was when she was still alive, living as a human…”

“Oh~ So that’s—hmm? What do you mean, is there a story?”

“Nothing, don’t mind it.”

“Hmph, boring.”

Saying this, Evran crossed her arms, pouted defiantly, then quietly retreated back into Su Xiaoxiao’s shadow.

Su Xiaoxiao continued to observe the school campus.

The Bloodkin who had escaped earlier was a hidden danger; he couldn’t be allowed to simply slip away.

But after quickly circling a few times, the campus was completely quiet. There were no traces of Beyond Beasts, nor any Bloodkin. Even Evran later confirmed that there was absolutely no Bloodkin aura left in the campus.

“He ran away, huh. Oh well, I hope no one in the school was hurt. Time to call it a day, there will be another chance to kill him next time.”

“Mm.”

“Evran, there shouldn’t be any more enemies for me to deal with. Change me back now. Turning into a loli, barely covering myself with just my old T-shirt, it’s so empty and embarrassing.”

“Huh?” Evran froze, then said hesitantly: “Who told you… you could change back?”
