Join the ServerShui Jingxuan’s water system ability directly acts on human cells, activating dead cell tissues and promoting cell division and regeneration.
As a result, its healing effects are incredibly potent. In his previous life, he could regenerate limbs at the 12th level peak, coming close to bringing the dead back to life and restoring flesh to bones.
Though his ability growth has been slow this life, with only a level 3-4 proficiency, he can easily heal minor wounds. Thus, after Ji Wushuang and his sister slept a night, they awoke to find their injuries significantly improved, though they were still pale and weak from blood loss.
As they prepared to rise, a knock sounded at the door.
“Come in,” Ji Wushuang said, not bothering to ask who it was, for he had already sensed someone approaching. The familiar footsteps brought a smile to his face.
“Good morning, Master,” Shui Jingxuan said, pushing the door open with one hand and holding a tray with the other.
“Good morning, little monk,” Ji Wushuang’s sister said, causing Ji Wushuang to frown.
“Master, I had the kitchen prepare red date and peanut congee for you to replenish your blood. The congee is still hot, and I’ll help you change your bandages before you eat.” Shui Jingxuan placed the tray, containing two bowls of congee and a few dishes of pickles, on a table near the window.
“Thank you,” Ji Wushuang said, afraid his sister would speak again.
“Don’t mention it, it’s my duty,” Shui Jingxuan said, waving his hand.
Shui Jingxuan then meticulously tended to their wounds, cleaning the bloodstained areas and applying a layer of gold powder medicine with care.
The siblings, who had grown fond of the little monk, watched him with affection.
After tending to their wounds, Shui Jingxuan provided them with fresh towels and sat down, watching them eat.
“Have you eaten? Would you like to join us?” Ji Wushuang asked, inviting him.
“No, thank you. I’ve already eaten with my master, who is currently setting up defenses at the gate, in case of an attack from the Shaolin. He sent me to escort you there. Are you well enough to go?” Shui Jingxuan asked.
“It’s just a minor injury, I’m fine now,” Ji Wushuang said, quickening his pace.
After a quarter of an hour, the three of them walked towards the gate. Along the way, they encountered the Wolf Girl, who was waiting for them.
“Master, are you feeling better? I was wrong yesterday, please punish me,” the Wolf Girl said, her voice trembling.
“You were wrong? In what way?” Ji Wushuang’s sister said, interrupting before her brother could speak.
The Wolf Girl hesitated, not knowing where to begin. She was not eloquent, and her feelings were difficult to express.
“You were not wrong, and there is no need for punishment. Just focus on your martial arts training in the future and help me take revenge on the eight sects and the Tartars,” Ji Wushuang said, showing a hint of his true feelings.
Shui Jingxuan looked at Ji Wushuang, thinking that he was hurt and acting coldly.
The Wolf Girl, though not understanding Ji Wushuang’s deeper meaning, felt a change in his attitude towards her.
“I will remember your instructions, Master,” the Wolf Girl said, bowing her head.
“Let’s go, Elder Mu must be waiting,” Ji Wushuang said, taking Shui Jingxuan’s hand.
At the gate, Elder Mu and others were waiting. They showed Ji Wushuang their defensive preparations.
After inspecting the defenses, Ji Wushuang did not leave but waited with them.
Soon, a group of Shaolin disciples arrived, but they only shouted insults and did not attack. After a brief standoff, they retreated.
“Master, we’ve just received news that the Shaolin is in disarray, with the Jade Pure, Langya, and Baiyun monasteries fighting each other,” a disciple reported.
“Hmph, indeed, that’s what a righteous sect looks like,” Ji Wushuang said, sarcastically.
“Let’s go, it’s lunchtime,” Ji Wushuang said, inviting everyone to the dining hall.
In the dining hall, a clean and quiet corner had been prepared for them.
After Ji Wushuang took his seat, everyone else sat down.
“Little monk, come sit by me,” Ji Wushuang said, surprising everyone.
“Is he still angry?” Shui Jingxuan thought, but he sat next to Ji Wushuang, as he did not want to upset him.
The Wolf Girl sat next to Shui Jingxuan, while Ji Wushuang’s sister smiled at the change in seating arrangement.
The elders looked at Shui Jingxuan with newfound respect, appreciating his talent and potential.
Shui Jingxuan, however, was focused on his meal, enjoying it with great relish.
Ji Wushuang watched him with amusement, finding his enjoyment infectious.
“Master, here are some gold needle vegetables, lotus root and glutinous rice balls, and spinach. Please eat more,” Shui Jingxuan said, serving Ji Wushuang and his sister.
“Thank you, little monk,” Ji Wushuang said, patting Shui Jingxuan’s head.
The atmosphere at the dining table was harmonious, with the elders barely able to believe the change in Ji Wushuang’s behavior.
The Wolf Girl, however, felt a pang of jealousy, realizing that she had never seen this side of Ji Wushuang before.
