Zhuo Yihang and the Wolf Girl recoiled in shock, scrambling backward to dodge his assault.
The Wolf Girl had already succumbed to madness, her inner power surging. She could hold her own against Ji Wushuang for a moment, deftly dodging his palm strikes.
But Zhuo Yihang was not so fortunate. The force sent him flying several meters, slamming him into the statue of the Three Pure Ones. He collapsed, spitting blood.
The Wolf Girl cast a worried glance at him, then without hesitation attacked Ji Wushuang to prevent further harm to Zhuo Yihang.
“Haha, Wolf Girl, how does it feel to be misunderstood by your beloved? With a simple scheme, I turned his blade against you. Choosing such a man—you are truly blind! Even now, you refuse to give up, fighting to the death for him. How utterly despicable!”
Ji Wushuang’s twin sister bantered as she easily exchanged blows with the Wolf Girl, never missing a chance to mock and unsettle her.
“So it was you!” The Wolf Girl’s heart turned cold. Her palm strikes grew more vicious and merciless.
Meanwhile, Zhuo Yihang, collapsed to the side, finally realized the unforgivable mistake he had made. But the damage was done.
Although the Wolf Girl had not struck first, she had indeed killed Baiyun and the others. Their relationship had reached a dead end from this moment—like her white hair, snow covering black silk, impossible to restore.
The twin sister intended to torment the Wolf Girl, attacking with ease but not delivering a fatal blow. However, Ji Wushuang grew impatient. Every palm strike aimed directly at the Wolf Girl’s vital points.
The Wolf Girl was struck hard in the chest by Ji Wushuang. Blood seeped from the corners of her mouth. She asked sorrowfully, “Master, I have endured your tortures. Why will you not let me go?”
“I am not your master!” Ji Wushuang turned to face Zhuo Yihang, who had come to rescue the Wolf Girl. His voice was icy and ruthless. “I could have tolerated your betrayal alone, but you dared to incite my disciple to leave me. For that alone, I could kill you ten thousand times!”
As he spoke, the killing intent in his eyes intensified. After sending Zhuo Yihang flying with a palm strike, he reached out with a claw-like grasp, pulling the Wolf Girl’s neck into his black-tinged palm.
His fingers closed in, about to end her life completely.
Zhuo Yihang’s eyes nearly split from rage. He shouted, “No!”

While Zhuo Yihang and the Wolf Girl were utterly defenseless against Ji Wushuang’s onslaught, in the demon sect’s valley, bubbles suddenly rose from the cold pond. Shui Jingxuan, who had been lying dormant at the bottom, shot up into the air and sped toward Wudang.
Although he tried to convince himself to be ruthless, Shui Jingxuan was, by nature, one who repays kindness.
The Ji Wushuang siblings had given him shelter, elevated status, a luxurious life, and even taught him peerless martial arts. These were things he could not—and would not—forget.
The Wolf Girl could betray them for a name, for a man. Could he betray them for the position of sect master, for three mountains of gold?
Shui Jingxuan had thought he could. But as he questioned himself, his growing agitation and the dull ache in his heart told him otherwise. He couldn’t do it!
Having recognized his true feelings, Shui Jingxuan wasted no time. He pushed his inner energy to the limit, reaching Wudang at his fastest speed ever.
As he stepped into the main hall, he saw a scene exactly like that from the film: the Wolf Girl was being choked by Ji Wushuang, while Zhuo Yihang was thrusting his sword at him.
Fate was indeed cruel. If Shui Jingxuan had arrived a moment earlier or later, things would not have unfolded as they did. But he appeared at exactly that moment—perhaps this was what people called ‘destiny’.
Without any deep love for the Wolf Girl, without any hesitation, Ji Wushuang could have killed her and easily dodged Zhuo Yihang’s attack.
But the sudden appearance of his beloved disciple completely captured his attention. He couldn’t help but look at his disciple, his eyes full of surprise and tenderness. His grip on the Wolf Girl’s neck loosened slightly.
“No!” Shui Jingxuan’s dark pupils turned crimson with bloodshot anger. Veins bulged on his forehead. He roared as he lunged toward the two figures who were separating unsteadily and then collapsing.
Ji Wushuang was the butcher who had massacred Wudang and the root cause of the rift between him and the Wolf Girl.
How could Zhuo Yihang allow this suddenly appearing youth to save him? His sword momentum had yet to be withdrawn, so he continued the attack toward the youth by inertia.
Shui Jingxuan caught Zhuo Yihang’s sword with his bare hand. With an explosion of inner force, a ‘ding’ sounded, and the cold steel blade snapped off in his grip. He reversed his hand and aimed the broken tip at Zhuo Yihang’s forehead.
If this strike landed, Zhuo Yihang would surely die instantly. At the critical moment, the lingering affection for Zhuo Yihang caused a coil of white hair to wrap around and stop his movement.
“Colluding with outsiders to kill your master—you are no longer worthy of me calling you senior sister!” Shui Jingxuan cast a cold glance at the Wolf Girl, his voice as icy as if from hell.
But Ji Wushuang was still bleeding profusely, his life hanging by a thread. Shui Jingxuan had no mind to tangle with them further.
He used his inner force to shatter the Wolf Girl’s white hair, sent Zhuo Yihang flying with a palm strike, then dashed to Ji Wushuang’s side and activated his special ability to repair their blood vessels.
At the moment he saw his disciple appear, Ji Wushuang finally understood. His disciple was not merely the heir to his martial arts and vengeance; he was someone he loved more than life itself. If he lost him, he would rather die. It was a pity that this realization took him seven years. Was it already too late now?
‘When did I say I was leaving?’ Shui Jingxuan was stunned. He saw that Ji Wushuang’s pupils were constricting, his eyes clouding over—he was clearly losing consciousness. Shui Jingxuan suspected he had mistaken him for someone else. Those words were meant for the Wolf Girl, weren’t they?
“Good, very good! Still thinking of her! Of course I knew you wouldn’t kill her! But you ended up killing yourself!” Thinking of this, Shui Jingxuan was furious. He gritted his teeth and growled, “Shut up! No!”
Sensing his disciple’s agitation, Ji Wushuang smiled with satisfaction. Meanwhile, Shui Jingxuan, his heart ablaze, desperately channeled his power. He finished the initial repairs and then swiftly moved to treat Ji Wushuang’s twin sister.
The twin sister, with slightly weaker inner energy, had already fallen into a coma. Her breathing was intermittent, her pulse barely perceptible.
Beads of sweat formed on Shui Jingxuan’s forehead. Just as his special ability was nearly depleted, he finally repaired the twin sister’s blood vessels.
Without pausing to catch his breath, he bound the two together, placed them on his back, and rushed toward the demon sect without a moment’s delay.
Carrying nearly three hundred jin of weight, Shui Jingxuan still moved swiftly. He returned to the demon sect in just two quarters of an hour.
After the astonished sect members took the two separated sect masters and settled them properly, he felt utterly exhausted.
“This… how did this happen?” Elder Mu was the first to receive the news. Seeing the two sect masters lying on the bed, looking no different from ordinary people, he grabbed Shui Jingxuan and asked in shock.
Shui Jingxuan had exhausted his special ability and couldn’t continue treating them. He could only instruct the servants to fetch the High Priest for diagnosis. Finally, he briefly recounted the events to Elder Mu.
The several elders who arrived behind him heard his words. Stepping over the threshold, they sighed, “What a tragedy! If the Wolf Girl wanted to leave, let her go. Why did the sect master have to pursue her and end up like this?”
Because the twin sister had always believed her younger brother had feelings for the Wolf Girl, she often used that to criticize her.
Coupled with the sect master’s frantic departure shouting ‘Disciple, come back,’ the sect members, connecting it to the recently defected Wolf Girl, naturally misunderstood.
They thought he had done this to win back the Wolf Girl, and they lamented deeply.
“What’s done is done. Words are useless. The elite disciples were slaughtered, Wudang was wiped out in one night. The other seven sects will certainly not let this go.
They’ll attack our sect soon. Let’s first focus on surviving this crisis,” Shui Jingxuan said slowly, sitting by the couch and gazing at the unconscious faces of the Ji Wushuang siblings.
“We await the Left Protector’s orders.” The eight elders exchanged glances, then bowed respectfully.
“What if Elders Wu and Huang disobey orders? Our sect is in danger; we cannot let hearts be divided. I urge the Left Protector to keep an eye on these two,” Elder Mu stepped forward and cautioned.
The Right Protector had betrayed them, the sect master was severely injured, and chaos was imminent. Yet Elders Wu and Huang hadn’t even come to check. Clearly, they harbored ulterior motives and could no longer be trusted.
Shui Jingxuan nodded. He let out a mocking laugh and slowly said, “Disobey orders? In times of crisis for the entire clan, that is tantamount to treason.
I need not guard against them; I’ll simply kill them.” Thinking that Ji Wushuang was dying because of the Wolf Girl, a fire of jealousy and rage burned in his heart. Whoever provoked him now would be reduced to ashes.
The Left Protector’s tone was so icy and fierce, his words leaving no room for negotiation. The eight elders trembled inwardly, thinking how fortunate they were to have recognized the situation and not provoked this demon god.
Shui Jingxuan acted with lightning speed, killing Elders Wu and Huang. He promoted two of his trusted followers to fill their positions.
Gathering the clan members, he explained the demon sect’s perilous state and, with a few words, stirred up their hatred for the eight major sects.
The sect members’ morale soared; they became fearless. This relieved half of Shui Jingxuan’s worries.
He drove countless venomous snakes and insects into the dense forest valley outside the sect grounds, set up traps and mechanisms, and ordered the sect members not to confront the eight sects head-on.
Instead, they were to lie in ambush and kill them in small groups. Seeing the sect members follow orders in an orderly fashion, Shui Jingxuan set down the other half of his worries.
A day later, news of Wudang’s annihilation arrived. As expected, the other seven sects could no longer tolerate the demon sect’s atrocities.
They gathered a large force and began attacking the demon sect’s stronghold.
However, as soon as they entered the valley within the demon sect’s territory, the seven sects’ disciples didn’t encounter enemies but fell victim to the venomous creatures and traps. Casualties were extremely heavy.
Before the survivors could catch their breath, they were picked off one by one by the hidden demon sect disciples. In the end, of the four to five hundred seven-sect disciples, less than a hundred remained.
Facing the demon sect’s tightly shut gates and the densely packed, glimmering poison arrows on the walls, the seven sects had no choice but to retreat.
Shui Jingxuan handled the seven sects’ siege with ease. He wasn’t worried that they would fight to the death, because he knew that after leaving Wudang, the Wolf Girl would not remain idle.
Instead, she would swear to kill all the seven sects’ people and relentlessly hunt them. With the Wolf Girl as a major threat, the leaderless demon sect would seem insignificant to the seven sects. Thus, the demon sect would be preserved.
Sure enough, two days later, once her injuries had stabilized, the Wolf Girl launched a merciless massacre against the seven sects.
The seven sects immediately forgot about the demon sect and turned their attention to dealing with the Wolf Girl.
