Chapter 32: A Master’s Possessive Affection

Ji Wushuang’s twin sister sensed her younger brother’s recently calmed emotions stirring into turmoil once more. She whipped her head around, glaring fiercely at him, and spoke in a stiff tone.

“Little brother, why are you so anxious to get the boy back? Are you truly that afraid of them being together? Could it be that you…”

Ji Wushuang’s twin sister was clearly incensed by her own thoughts, her face flushing crimson. The words she couldn’t utter choked in her throat, making it impossible to continue.

Ji Wushuang’s heart pounded wildly. “What nonsense are you spouting?” he snapped.

“Nonsense? How many times have I warned you not to provoke the Wolf Girl again! If you fall for her, you’re destined for a lifetime of suffering! And the boy!

There are plenty of suitable girls in the sect, so why can’t he see straight? You two, master and disciple, are truly infuriating me!”

Ji Wushuang’s twin sister grew increasingly agitated, her voice unconsciously rising in pitch.

The elders and cult members, who had yet to disperse, heard the Sect Mistress’s outburst. Astonished and embarrassed, they quickly found excuses and departed one after another.

Hearing his sister’s words, Ji Wushuang knew she had misunderstood him. He offered no explanation, but instead secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Although he hadn’t fully grasped this intense and fervent strange emotion, he knew it had to remain his secret, one he could not share with his twin sister.

“Hmph, I hope that’s the case.” Ji Wushuang’s twin sister sounded unconvinced, but she didn’t argue further. Her younger brother’s mood had just stabilized; she couldn’t push him too hard.

Seeing his twin sister no longer pressing, Ji Wushuang’s tense heart eased. He turned to the servant standing by and instructed, “If the Left Protector returns, tell him to come see me immediately.”

The servant bowed in affirmation.

Ji Wushuang strolled towards his residence, his heart still troubled by his beloved disciple’s departure with the Wolf Girl. His expression grew even more somber.

At the same time, Shui Jingxuan was weaving through the forest, swiftly heading towards the Demon Sect. As he reached the edge of the valley, he encountered Azhuang and his group, who had been dispatched to find him.

“Senior brother, we finally found you!” Azhuang rushed forward, excited.

“Why are you looking for me? Are you worried I got lost?” Shui Jingxuan feigned surprise, speaking playfully.

“We weren’t worried you’d get lost, Master was! We heard you and the Wolf Girl hadn’t returned, and Master was furious. He ordered us to come find you immediately, saying we shouldn’t bother living if we couldn’t find you.”

Azhuang began complaining, his face etched with worry.

‘Ji Wushuang was angry? It must be because the Wolf Girl didn’t follow orders again,’ Shui Jingxuan mused, shaking his head.

“Oh, right, where’s the Wolf Girl? Didn’t you go after her? Where is she?” Azhuang peered behind him.

“Does that even need asking? She must have left on her own again! Master only told us to find Senior Brother, so there’s no need to bother with the Wolf Girl.” A particularly tall fellow disciple waved his hand dismissively.

‘Finding me is just a secondary task. Ji Wushuang, that pedophile, is actually worried about the Wolf Girl. You people are so dense; you don’t even understand the deeper meaning behind the leader’s words!’ Shui Jingxuan thought to himself, then prompted,

“Master believes the Right Protector and I are together. When he told you to find me, he naturally meant for you to find the Right Protector as well. If you return empty-handed, you’ll surely face punishment.”

“Senior Brother is right,” Azhuang quickly agreed, scratching his head in distress. “But the Wolf Girl’s Qinggong is exceptional, and she appears and disappears like a ghost. It’s pitch black out here; where are we supposed to find her?”

“Use the Scent Snake to call her back.” Shui Jingxuan pulled a thin metal flute from his pocket, brought it to his lips, and began to play.

The delicate flute emitted sound waves only snakes could perceive. Soon, a small, glossy black snake slid from a branch and dropped into Shui Jingxuan’s arms.

These snakes possessed an incredibly keen sense of smell. Members of the Demon Sect all applied a colorless, odorless potion to their bodies.

While ‘odorless’ was relative, only these specific snakes could detect its scent, hence their name, Scent Snakes. They were used within the Demon Sect for transmitting messages and tracking.

“Thank you for your assistance, Senior Brother.” Azhuang and his group quickly cupped their hands in thanks. They all thought, ‘If we go back with Senior Brother, Master surely won’t punish us. Master listens to Senior Brother the most.’

When Shui Jingxuan returned to the Demon Sect, he saw one of Ji Wushuang’s close attendants standing at the sect entrance, gazing into the distance. The attendant’s eyes lit up when he spotted Shui Jingxuan, and he rushed forward, speaking quickly.

“Left Protector, you’ve returned! Master has asked for you several times. He wants you to go see him immediately upon your return.”

“Understood, thank you for your trouble.” Shui Jingxuan nodded, then strode towards Ji Wushuang’s courtyard.

He politely knocked on the door. After hearing Ji Wushuang’s deep, resonant voice grant permission, Shui Jingxuan pushed open the door and bowed slightly with a smile. “Master, your disciple has returned.”

“Hmm,” Ji Wushuang responded softly, scrutinizing him up and down. Seeing that he was unharmed, he finally relaxed a little and slowly asked, “Where is the Wolf Girl?”

“Reporting to Master, your disciple was following Senior Sister, but I deemed it inappropriate to continue, so I returned alone.” Shui Jingxuan explained in a low, somber tone.

Upon hearing this, Ji Wushuang did not feel better; instead, he grew more agitated, his tone slightly stern. “If she wanted to go, why did you follow? Why are you always so…

He had guessed the truth, but attributed it to the wrong person. However, this did not prevent him from extinguishing his Master’s anger.

“Reporting to Master, this was our first practical training, a matter of great significance. Your disciple was afraid of angering Master by leaving, so I had no choice but to follow. Please forgive your disciple.”

‘So that’s it; he was afraid of angering me.’ Ji Wushuang mused silently. The churning rage in his heart was doused by a bucket of cold water, leaving his entire body feeling refreshed.

“So that’s how it is?” Ji Wushuang’s twin sister interjected. “This Venerable One actually thought you were experiencing your first stirrings of love and had fallen for the Wolf Girl.”

“That’s good! The Wolf Girl is stubborn and unyielding; you mustn’t bring suffering upon yourself by falling for her. We have plenty of women in our sect. Tell this Venerable One what kind of woman you like, and tomorrow I’ll find you ten or eight of them to initiate you. Speaking of which, you’re still a virgin, aren’t you? Hahahaha…”

Ji Wushuang’s twin sister grew more animated with each word, eventually slapping her thigh and cackling shrilly.

Facing the wild Sect Mistress, Shui Jingxuan’s mouth twitched, utterly speechless.

Ji Wushuang’s mood had initially brightened upon hearing his beloved disciple clear his relationship with the Wolf Girl, but his twin sister’s excessive teasing turned his face a sickly green.

His expression twisted for a moment before he finally couldn’t help but speak, grinding his teeth as he rebuked, “Have you said enough? If you have, then shut up!”

Once his twin sister quieted down, her face abashed, Ji Wushuang walked to his beloved disciple’s side. He reached out to wipe away a dried, tear-shaped bloodstain from the corner of his eye, his thumb tenderly caressing his cheek.

After a long moment, he leaned down to meet his dark eyes, speaking solemnly,

“The most crucial aspect of cultivating demonic arts is a calm and focused mind. Your demonic cultivation is halfway complete; you absolutely must not be distracted by women. Therefore, never listen to her words, or you risk qi deviation and falling into depravity.”

Seeing her younger brother’s unprecedented seriousness, Ji Wushuang’s twin sister assumed he was referencing her own recent struggles with inner demons, and was preemptively warning his disciple not to repeat his mistakes.

For a moment, she too felt her recent words were highly inappropriate, and quickly nodded to amend, “Yes, this Venerable One’s words just now were all in jest.

Focus on your martial arts and absolutely do not try anything reckless. The reason your Master was able to cultivate the Poison Demonic Art to the eighth stage is precisely because of his single-minded dedication.”

“Yes, your disciple has been enlightened.” Seeing the topic finally return to normal, Shui Jingxuan breathed a sigh of relief and offered a faint smile.

“Very well, you’ve worked hard all night. Go back and rest early. Tomorrow is the Witch God Festival, and there will be a priestly celebration in the evening, so it’s best to get plenty of rest.”

Seeing a hint of weariness in his beloved disciple’s eyes, Ji Wushuang lovingly admonished him.

“Your disciple understands.” Shui Jingxuan nodded, then spoke with hesitation, “Senior Sister, she…”

He had intended to report that he had used the Scent Snake to call the Wolf Girl back, but Ji Wushuang impatiently waved him off, cutting short his unfinished sentence. “Hmph, let her be!”

“In that case, your disciple will take his leave. Master, please also rest early.” Shui Jingxuan politely bowed and walked towards the door.

“Wait,” Ji Wushuang suddenly called out, his eyes betraying a struggle, his tone rigid. “Are you… are you still a virgin?”

Shui Jingxuan paused, then lowered his head to hide the twitch at the corner of his mouth. He replied softly, “Reporting to Master, your disciple has no thoughts beyond martial arts.”

Ji Wushuang’s tense expression softened, and a hint of a smile flickered in his eyes. He patted his disciple’s shoulder, saying gently,

“Excellent. Remember, you absolutely must not be distracted before achieving great success in demonic cultivation.”

‘If he is to break through to the tenth and highest stage of demonic cultivation, even with his extraordinary talent, it will take over a decade.’ Ji Wushuang silently calculated, and his anxious heart settled.

‘At least, for these ten-plus years, my disciple will remain solely mine. With these years, I can ensure that his entire life will be mine. As the saying goes, ‘A teacher for a day is a father for life’—isn’t that precisely the principle?’

Completely twisting the meaning of the adage, Ji Wushuang contentedly allowed his beloved disciple to leave.

“Are you satisfied?” Once Shui Jingxuan was far away, Ji Wushuang’s twin sister spoke, annoyed.

“I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Ji Wushuang’s heart tightened, and he replied with feigned indifference.

“You asked the boy if he was a virgin, wasn’t it just to comfort yourself? Little brother, you can’t be like this. We cannot engage in intimacy due to our unique bodies, because no one is willing. The boy’s uniqueness isn’t apparent to ordinary people; you cannot deprive him of his right to experience love and desire because of it!”

Ji Wushuang’s twin sister earnestly advised.

“Shut up!” Ji Wushuang’s eyes darkened, and he said fiercely, “Never let me hear you talk about finding women for my disciple again. Without my permission, he shouldn’t even think about touching a woman in this lifetime!”

After speaking, perhaps feeling his tone was too intense, his words too absolute, he lowered his gaze and emphasized each word, “I am doing this for his own good, too.”

‘My disciple can only be my disciple for life; how can he have women? If he has women, where would my place be?’ Ji Wushuang mused, a deep murderous intent rising towards the hypothetical women in his disciple’s future.

Sensing the seriousness in her younger brother’s words, Ji Wushuang’s twin sister could only sigh in resignation.

“I know you’re doing this for his own good. Cultivating the Poison Demonic Art is an adventure in itself. Alas, you two, master and disciple, handle your own affairs. I won’t interfere anymore.”
