It was widely known that cats were incredibly swift creatures.
They possessed visual nerves so agile they bordered on cheating, coupled with naturally quick reflexes. However, this also granted them another innate trait: excessive sensitivity.
Ye Yu, currently being pursued by the White Demon Tigers, felt as if his ‘Saiyan-like tail had been caught.’ The very next second, his entire body went limp, sliding smoothly to the ground.
Due to inertia, Ye Yu even slid a short distance further along the forest floor.
Fortunately, there were no strange, jagged stones protruding from the ground; instead, a soft bed of leaves cushioned his fall, making it painless.
Perched on a tree, observing the scene, Huangpu Pingqing watched Ye Yu execute a remarkably smooth, girlish ‘duck sit.’
His pure white, silky stockings were now stained with a few faint marks, and a deep blush spread across his palm-sized face.
Due to the considerable distance, she couldn’t discern the reason behind Ye Yu’s pained cry or his sudden collapse into a ‘duck sit.’
Yet, seeing Ye Yu’s crimson cheeks, his white-stockinged knees pressed together, and his inability to gather strength to stand, a sense of familiarity washed over her.
Huangpu Pingqing found the sight unsettlingly familiar.
‘Why does this scene remind me of those bewitched beautiful girls in the yuri resources I’ve downloaded?’ she mused.
‘Oh no, this situation, and Ye Yu’s sensitive reaction, it’s a little too stimulating!’
‘It makes me want to be his Goshujin-sama (master).’
‘Wait, now isn’t the time for such thoughts.’
Watching the three White Demon Tigers drawing ever closer behind Ye Yu and Tang Yue, Huangpu Pingqing no longer cared about the stunned White Demon Tiger beneath her tree.
Disregarding her need to remain hidden, she instinctively shouted out a warning.
“Yueyue, Xiaoyu, behind you, White Demon Tigers! Be careful!”
Huangpu Pingqing poured every ounce of her strength into that shout, for the White Demon Tigers were truly swift.
The force of her yell, originating from her chest, caused her ample bosom to heave violently.
Normally, such a degree of movement would be unremarkable.
However, Ye Yu’s backpack, which Huangpu Pingqing had been holding in her arms since helping him change, was still nestled there.
As her chest rose and fell with the shout, Ye Yu’s small travel backpack, caught by the motion, slipped and tumbled from the tree with a soft thud.
Huangpu Pingqing, however, remained completely oblivious.
After all, compared to the life-threatening danger faced by her best friend and her ‘best friend’s?’ little husband, the value of a mere backpack was utterly insignificant.
As Huangpu Pingqing’s girlish voice echoed through the forest, Ye Yu, still sprawled on the ground, looked back.
He watched the three White Demon Tigers, now terrifyingly close to him and his wife, Tang Yue.
At that moment, cold sweat beaded on his neutral, slender hair ends, trickling down his smooth, slick back.
Despite his anxiety, Ye Yu discovered that perhaps it was due to the ‘be your meow’ cat attributes from his transformation. His body’s sensitive nerves had been greatly enhanced. After the recent events, especially now, still entangled by the blood whip and experiencing that peculiar sensation, he was utterly paralyzed.
‘Ugh! My whole body is tingling, I can’t get up at all!’
As the three White Demon Tigers drew nearer, Ye Yu’s tension and anxiety mounted. Just as Tang Yue, frowning slightly due to the confusing results of her measurement, gripped her blood whip, preparing to confront the enemy…
Roar
A deafening roar suddenly erupted before Ye Yu and Tang Yue.
The air was instantly filled with a, countless fallen leaves swirled up from the ground, and the earth itself trembled.
The sound was overwhelmingly loud, and the oppressive aura it carried was impossible to ignore.
It was far more menacing than the three White Demon Tigers before them, instilling an instinctive sense of dread deep within their bones.
Ye Yu and Tang Yue involuntarily looked forward in unison, witnessing a sight that would forever shake them to their core.
Through the gloomy, rainy canopy of the dense forest, several kilometers away, a colossal demon, with fleshy wings and the head of a lion atop a tiger’s body, slowly beat its wings.
It hovered above Lijiang, Ye Yu’s intended destination.
From this distance, observing from a third-person perspective, Ye Yu felt as if a thick, heavy shadow had enveloped a significant portion of Lijiang’s domain due to the giant demon’s appearance.
Witnessing this, Ye Yu remained stunned, unable to fully process the sight.
It was a normal human instinct to fear creatures even twice one’s size. Creatures five times larger, like the White Demon Tigers, triggered an instinctive urge to flee.
Now, faced with a demon whose single finger, by his estimation, was larger than his entire body, Ye Yu felt an overwhelming sense of inferiority, an insurmountable defeat, just from looking at it.
Just as Ye Yu and Tang Yue stood in stunned silence, the three White Demon Tigers, who had been chasing them moments before, now ignored them entirely.
Their already crimson eyes flickered with an abnormal red glow, as if responding to a summons or under some powerful enchantment, and they charged frantically towards the town of Lijiang.
As the two White Demon Tigers bolted, more and more footsteps began to echo through the forest.
Witnessing this, an ominous premonition suddenly seized Ye Yu.
According to textbooks, demons were broadly categorized into several ranks: Elementary-tier Demon, Intermediate-tier Demon, Commander-tier, Monarch-tier, and Totem-tier!
The first two tiers, as their names suggested, merely indicated varying levels of combat strength.
Commander-tier demons, however, not only possessed combat power comparable to human ‘High-tier’ ability users but also held the authority to command lower-tier demons.
Often, even a single Commander-tier demon could pose a significant challenge to a human city.
As for Monarch-tier demons, they were, as the name implied, rulers and overlords of a region, capable of commanding all demons within their territory. Textbooks recorded that every emergence of a Monarch-tier creature heralded the downfall of a city.
Finally, Totem-tier demons were ancient, mysterious beings. They wielded terrifying, enigmatic powers and existed only in legends.
Now, gazing at the gigantic demon several kilometers away, Ye Yu, who had only recently awakened his ability and had no combat experience, felt a horrifyingly immense pressure emanating from it. Coupled with the panicked flight of the three White Demon Tigers, he couldn’t help but speculate.
‘Could this colossal demon be a legendary Monarch-tier creature?’
The thought sent a heavy dread sinking into Ye Yu’s heart.
His parents were currently touring in Lijiang. Although his mother, Ning Yurou, possessed a restrictive ability that could alter a demon’s perception, helping his father escape, the possibility of a Monarch-tier demon unleashing devastating destructive skills filled him with worry.
Ye Yu’s heart tightened into a knot.
Just as Ye Yu began to fret, a brilliant, multi-colored flash, like a vibrant, ethereal rainbow, shot from beneath the tourist city of Lijiang towards the colossal creature in the sky.
This single beam of light, breathtakingly beautiful, instantly pierced through one of the giant demon’s fleshy wings.
Panicked, and now with one wing incapacitated, the lion-headed, tiger-bodied demon plummeted directly to the ground.
The massive impact kicked up an enormous cloud of dust, shrouding the entire city of Lijiang in a thick fog.
Witnessing this scene—a magical girl’s light wave from the movies now a tangible reality—Ye Yu connected the dots: his own ‘cross-dressing taboo ability,’ and the timely, unique coincidences surrounding his parents.
In an instant, all his lingering doubts converged into a single line of thought.
‘So, my idol, the magical girl, is actually my dad!’
