Chapter 46: The Demon Kings’ Gathering and a Fox’s Fury

“There’s no need to mind him.”

Just as Ah Ling’s killing intent surged, Qin Yangjun rested a hand on her head.

He then smiled and offered a greeting to Jiang Yanfeng.

But Jiang Yanfeng merely snorted, flashed his fist at Qin Yangjun, and turned to leave immediately.

Qin Yangjun let out a soft chuckle.

Originally, Qin Yangjun had no intention of bothering with Jiang Yanfeng; according to the initial trajectory of events, Jiang Yanfeng was destined to die after the Heavenly Ranking martial arts competition.

His continued existence until this point, strictly speaking, could be attributed to Qin Yangjun’s benevolence.

However, Qin Yangjun had severely underestimated the depth of this young man’s obnoxiousness.

Now, the more Qin Yangjun observed the youngster, the more he found him an eyesore.

He truly needed to put this boy in his place.

Since the fellow seemed to relish causing him trouble, Qin Yangjun would ensure he received a taste of his own medicine.

Fortuitously, an opportunity had arisen in Canggu City this time; he would most certainly teach this boy a lesson.

Having settled on his course of action, Qin Yangjun retreated to the inner cabin.

This was partly to evade his fervent fangirls, and partly because he genuinely required some rest.

Canggu City lay a considerable distance from Yuqian Sect, requiring approximately three days of travel even with several teleportation points along the route.

Remaining on a ship for extended periods could become tedious, so at each transfer station, the flying boat would pause for an hour, allowing the disciples to disembark and stretch their legs; Qin Yangjun naturally took advantage of this, seizing the chance to experience the local customs and traditions of the various cities.

Unbeknownst to him, however, as he arrived at one of these transit stations, he became the focus of a pair of watchful eyes.

A day and a half had already elapsed, meaning they would reach Canggu City in another day and a half.

The owner of those eyes recognized Qin Yangjun at first glance, then swiftly located a secluded spot to perform a hand seal, transmitting a concise message.

At this very moment, within a fortress a thousand miles from Canggu City, a conclave of demon kings had assembled.

They sat in solemn silence within the grand hall.

“I presume you have all received the news: an unexpected complication has arisen. Qin Yangjun is also a part of this support team, and furthermore, Yuqian Sect has dispatched two Void Refinement realm Peak Masters.”

The speaker was a handsome young man whose pupils glowed with a golden light, and two long bird feathers adorned his temples.

“Our offensive this time is not extensive, and by all rights, it should not have garnered such significant attention from Yuqian Sect. Yet, not only has Mu Xianxian’s younger brother arrived, but two Peak Masters as well. Could it be that someone leaked crucial information?”

A burly man with a tiger’s head spoke, his gaze sweeping across the assembly before settling pointedly on a scantily clad young woman.

The young woman wore a fur coat, her shoulders exposed beneath the fabric, revealing skin so fair and rosy it seemed one could almost squeeze water from it. A generous expanse of her upper body was bared, and her apricot-shaped eyes were filled with alluring charm, while several fluffy white fox tails swayed playfully behind her.

Her seating was also peculiar; though positioned in the front row, it was as if she had intentionally distanced herself, with no one else daring to sit nearby.

A hint of indolence graced her devastatingly beautiful face as she propped her hand on her chair, her eyes quickly scanning her surroundings.

Perceiving no reaction from anyone around her, she allowed a faint, mocking smile to curl her lips.

“Big Brother, staring at this concubine so intently, do you perhaps harbor some inappropriate thoughts? Alas, Big Brother, you are not to this concubine’s taste, so…”

Her tone deepened slightly, a flicker of sharpness entering her eyes.

“Get as far away from me as you possibly can!”

The tiger-headed man showed no trace of fear, slamming his palm on the table as he rose abruptly.

“Yin Kang Xuehan! You know precisely what I’m thinking! You are the one who walks closest with humans; the leak absolutely has your fingerprints all over it!”

Yin Kang Xuehan, not one to mince words, let out a cold hmph.

“Hmph! How utterly laughable! To this very moment, there is no evidence whatsoever to prove that any information was leaked, yet you are quick to jump to conclusions and hurl baseless accusations at this concubine. Could it be that you, yourself, harbor a guilty conscience?”

The tiger-headed man let out a furious roar.

“You saucy fox, you truly seek death!”

A sharper chill permeated Yin Kang Xuehan’s eyes as she narrowed them imperceptibly.

“I am not in the mood to bicker with you. This time, considering it is your first offense, I shall let it pass. But if you dare to bark again, this concubine will twist off your head and hang it on the wall as a mere decoration.”

Roar!

A tiger’s roar reverberated through the grand hall, and in the very next second, a flash of killing intent gleamed in Yin Kang Xuehan’s eyes.

Pfft!

As a streak of crimson blood flashed, a massive tiger’s head dropped to the ground, blood gushing forth and staining the entire hall crimson.

Aside from Yin Kang Xuehan, who had protected her body with spiritual energy, everyone else was splattered with blood.

Being beasts by nature, they were inherently bloodthirsty, so being stained with gore was of no consequence to them.

Moreover, it was as if these demon kings had orchestrated the entire spectacle, for throughout the entire incident, they remained utterly still, offering neither counsel nor intervention, as if merely spectating a dramatic play.

Yin Kang Xuehan knew these individuals were the insidious instigators of this farce.

The unfortunate soul she had dispatched was nothing more than a pawn, used for their probing machinations.

They simply wished to ascertain whether she had sustained any injuries in her preceding skirmishes.

These demons often decried humans as despicable, but in her estimation, these demons were indistinguishable from the humans they so readily condemned.

If not for her relentless quest to find her sister, she would have absolutely no interest in joining this chaotic and murky alliance.

And that exceptionally tasteless title—she even harbored a profound regret for having fought to the death with that other fox demon merely for such a moniker.

She had long ago resolved within herself: as soon as she received definitive news of her sister, she would cast these wretched fellows aside.

Let whoever wished to be a demon king take up the mantle.
