Chapter 5: Bloodkin Descend

“Is this the terror of Otherworld Beast Zero? To tear open a rift so easily, but clearly we’ve also lost track of its whereabouts—where is that human girl from just now?”

“She escaped.”

“Hmm?”

“Those low-level Otherworld Beasts didn’t seem to trap her, and… it seems they were all killed by someone. I only found one item she left behind.”

“No wonder we quickly stopped hearing the sounds of Otherworld Beasts, but in this kind of place, human exterminator forces wouldn’t arrive so quickly, and even low-level Otherworld Beasts couldn’t be… never mind, that’s not our concern.”

Auston narrowed his eyes, glanced at the item his subordinate held—a pink phone.

The Bloodkin named Baro handed the pink phone to Auston. Auston belonged to the Bloodkin Rose Legion, holding the rank of Vice Staff Officer, a position second only to the Staff Officer and the Chief and Deputy Legion Commanders.

Baro, on the other hand, was the captain of a sub-squadron within the Rose Legion, serving under Auston’s command.

The Otherworld Beasts were quickly annihilated, leaving only a phone. Auston pondered for a moment, held the phone to his nose and sniffed, then decisively stated, “Based on the lingering aura on the item, bring that human girl back.”

“Yes. So, should we continue with the mission given to us by Second Progenitor?”

“This is merely an experiment by Second Progenitor; our understanding of Otherworld Beasts is still insufficient. Being able to verify their spatial leap range is enough.” Auston looked down on Baro, then continued to walk forward.

Suddenly, his steps abruptly stopped again.

“Wait.” Auston waved a hand.

He sensed a human aura, very close by.

And that human seemed to have already discovered them, now quietly moving, attempting to hide.

“Hehe, looks like there’s some fun to be had after all.” Auston sneered, then slammed his foot down with a booming sound, directly penetrating the fourth floor and landing straight into the third-floor corridor.

Some Bloodkin possess powers that are unimaginably strong, even terrifying.

Aside from the [Exterminator Allied Forces] and the [Humanoid Weapon Research Society] who can contend with them, ordinary humans possess no ability to resist them physically.

Baro followed closely behind, descending to the third floor together.

“…!” Su Mu Zhe, upon hearing the loud noise, immediately stopped moving and silently hid behind the classroom door.

Auston looked around; he confirmed that the human aura was nearby, but the other party seemed very experienced with Bloodkin, skilled at concealing their presence, making it impossible for him to pinpoint an exact location even when so close.

Interesting, an Exterminator? Or just an ordinary human who hadn’t managed to escape?

Auston walked gently, one hand on his hip, arrogantly holding his head high, slowly passing the classroom door.

Su Mu Zhe narrowed his eyes in concentration. Bloodkin’s sensory perception of auras was too keen; if he made even the slightest sound, he would face an overwhelming attack from the Bloodkin.

In the past, he would naturally have fought the Bloodkin without hesitation and exterminated these two Bloodkin of considerable status.

But now he had no power, he was just an ordinary person; rash action would be tantamount to suicide.

Bloodkin also had social strata, with distinctions between nobility and commoners, determining their status based on inherited bloodlines, and their innate powers were also determined by their bloodline.

Through a narrow gap, Su Mu Zhe caught a glimpse of the two Bloodkin’s attire; the one in the lead should be a Bloodkin of the noble class, wearing the Rose Troupe’s insignia on his chest.

This meant he had encountered an even more powerful enemy.

But Auston and Baro ultimately seemed unable to precisely pinpoint Su Mu Zhe’s location, passing by the classroom door.

“…” Su Mu Zhe let out a relieved breath with difficulty.

But in that very instant, Auston stopped dead in his tracks, his gaze sharply focusing behind the classroom door.

“Hahaha! Little mouse hiding behind the door, I found you!”

An incredibly swift strike!

Metal instantly let out a wailing sound of twisting and melting.

The iron door was instantly smashed to pieces in the blink of an eye, a hole punched through it, steaming with white smoke…

Baro’s perception ability seemed to be a step behind Auston’s; by the time he turned around, the iron door in front of him had already been completely pulverized.

If someone had been hiding behind the door, they would now surely be a bloody corpse, smashed along with the iron door.

But there was no one behind the door.

Not even a whimper was heard, nor a trace of blood in the air.

Auston frowned, stepped forward, ripped the iron door open, and threw it aside.

The wall behind the door was also punched through with a shocking large hole, but there was no one hiding there.

Impossible!

Auston had never doubted his perception; there had definitely been a human hiding behind this door just now.

But in just a blink of an eye, they had vanished into thin air as if evaporated. Had their movements been anticipated by the opponent?

“Vice Staff Officer!”

At this moment, Baro also sensed the human aura, and that human was right beside him.

No, they had already appeared in front of him; there was no need for sensory abilities, one only needed eyes to see.

And then, accompanied by a whistling piece of metal, it flew directly towards him!
