Chapter 79: The Serpent’s Self-Destruction Stopped

Not far from the mixed combat zone of Lin Ling and the Heavenly Prison Beasts,

The Third and Eighth Joint Fleet of the Elven race, led by the Second Princess Fule Ai, was methodically annihilating the remaining Prison Beasts.

Although they hadn’t known why the Elf King Ifis had assigned them to guard near Blue Star, Fule Ai, as an admirer of Ifis, naturally obeyed unconditionally. Moreover, her mother, the Elf Queen, had not objected.

But now, it seemed that Lord Ifis had foresight, even predicting the invasion from beyond. Intercepting the foreign enemies outside the Creator’s Barrier did not violate the Alliance’s rules, and it also gave humanity a favor. Truly, Lord Ifis was so clever.

However, how had these creatures slipped into Blue Star silently? What had happened to the Realm Beasts and the reconnaissance forces? It seemed necessary to request an investigation upon return. This was a major event that could not be ignored.

Thinking this, Fule Ai’s expression became uneasy. She took out a phone-like object and began to write a report.

(The following is in Elvish)

“Second Princess, the Prison Beasts have all been cleared. What should we do next?” A maid-dressed Elf girl with cyan hair asked respectfully for instructions.

Fule Ai looked around at the reconnaissance equipment on the flagship, confirmed that the report was correct—all Prison Beasts had been annihilated—then gave the order: “All units stand by. After the human race’s new Battle Sovereign deals with that Snake Dragon, fire a salute. Although we cannot contact her according to regulations, basic etiquette must still be observed.”

“Understood, Your Highness.” The maid immediately transmitted the order to the other two captains.

Through the display screen, looking at the distant girl with silver hair fluttering majestically, Fule Ai felt genuine admiration and respect for her—a respect for the strong. She also silently apologized for her earlier disdain.

Previously, she had thought that an original Battle Sovereign born on a planet lacking spiritual energy might not be strong. When she learned that Lin Ling had attribute-less spiritual energy and a limited amount, she had subconsciously felt some contempt, even feeling sorry for the Creator—a pity that someone who passed the trial had such a poor foundation.

But now, her previous thoughts seemed too naive and absurd.

“Ah, I still have a lot to learn.” Fule Ai mocked herself internally.

“Bad news!” The pilot’s flustered voice suddenly broke the silence in the bridge.

Interrupted from her thoughts, Fule Ai felt some displeasure but did not show it. She had to maintain the image of a princess.

“Calm down! What happened?”

The pilot, scolded by the princess, regained some composure but still looked terrified, stuttering: “Second Princess, our sensors and thermal scanners have detected a huge amount of energy gathering in the Snake Dragon’s abdomen! It… it… it’s going to self-destruct!”

This news struck like a thunderbolt, leaving Fule Ai at a loss. All other elves who heard the news also showed terrified expressions.

“What?! Self-destruct?! This…”

Upon hearing this, Fule Ai completely disregarded her mother’s lessons on ladylike etiquette. She leaped to the pilot’s seat, pushed the reporting officer aside, and personally operated the machine to check. Her maid helplessly covered her forehead.

“How could this happen?!”

After confirming the energy distribution in the Snake Dragon’s body, Fule Ai’s face darkened instantly. Endless fear surged into the heart of this inexperienced little princess. Recalling the records of her clan and the indelible trauma the last Snake Dragon attack had inflicted on the elves, her legs trembled uncontrollably.

Escape! That word became the only thought in the second princess’s mind. She knew that being caught in that explosion meant certain death!

“Quickly initiate a space-time jump and get out of here!” Fule Ai almost screamed hysterically.

“It’s no use, Your Highness! It’s too late!” A despairing voice from another pilot reached Fule Ai’s ears.

Seeing the crimson fireball expanding and exploding in the distance, an unprecedented darkness enveloped her heart. Feeling the threat of death, Fule Ai could no longer control her emotions. She collapsed to the ground, tears streaming down unwillingly, her royal dignity gone.

“No, no! I don’t want to die like this! I’m so young, not even five hundred years old! How can I die here! I shouldn’t have come out to show off! Mother! Sister! Save me!”

But just as Fule Ai and the entire fleet fell into despair, a miracle occurred not far away.

“Princess! Look! Look over there!” The maid supporting Fule Ai suddenly shouted excitedly, unable to hide her joy.

Fule Ai, crying, was confused by the maid’s excitement. ‘We’re about to die, why are you so happy?’ Helplessly, she raised her tearful eyes and looked in the direction the maid pointed.

Looking at the rapidly expanding crimson energy ball filled with destructive power, Lin Ling calmly stretched out her right hand. Her golden pupils suddenly contracted. An invisible force instantly and silently enveloped the red energy ball that was releasing its overwhelming fury into the universe.

Instantly, this crimson violent energy, seemingly enough to destroy the entire galaxy, somehow stopped colliding. It was as if it had been frozen in place. The violent power inside gradually calmed and stabilized.

The next moment, it inexplicably began to shrink.

“Holy crap!” All the civilizations and powerhouses secretly observing this scene, including the trembling elf princess, were completely baffled. “What? What’s happening? Why did the Snake Dragon’s self-destruction stop? What did the new Battle Sovereign do?”

Instantly, all onlookers turned into question-mark-generating machines. They were filled with nothing but confusion.

Unlike the sudden uproar outside, Lin Ling remained calm watching all these changes. From the moment she entered this mode until now, her heart had stayed peaceful, even a bit disdainful. Indeed, the Snake Dragon’s self-destruction had caught her off guard, and it was her oversight. Little White had provided information about this, but she had been distracted by some small fry, giving the Snake Dragon ample time to self-destruct.

‘Well, it’s my fault.’

But even if this thing’s self-destruction was incredibly powerful and its destructive aura heavy, to her, it was just a mass of rampaging energy that had lost its controller. Manipulating it was not difficult.

Seeing that the size was about right, and it would be inappropriate to continue, Lin Ling immediately raised her right hand. A silver-white point of light gathered at her fingertip. ‘It’s over.’

A towering silver-white spiritual wave cannon shot out from Lin Ling’s hand, without any charging—a simple, ordinary blow. Yet that silver-white beam easily pierced the crimson energy ball. In an instant, the once-fearsome self-destruction energy of the Snake Dragon was completely shattered and dissipated into the universe, without any residual explosion. In fact, it didn’t even explode; it simply vanished.

This earth-shattering self-destruction ended so anticlimactically that many ill-intentioned onlookers couldn’t help but curse loudly.

After scanning with her spiritual power and confirming that all surrounding Prison Beasts had been eliminated, Lin decisively deactivated this battle mode, which even she found a bit unsettling. The silver light in her hair gradually dimmed. Then she turned around and flew at full speed toward Blue Star.

“This is incredible!” Watching all this, the elf princess Fule Ai’s eyes sparkled as she exclaimed from the heart.
