“Queen Evran, I advise you to return with me immediately.
Otherwise, the mentor who saved you back then will be executed by the Bloodkin High Council—if you return now, there might still be a chance.”“What did you say!?
What have you done to Grandpa Mentor!?”
The apple in Evran’s hand was suddenly crushed as she immediately questioned Julius in a loud voice.
Julius’s gaze was cold.
“Please wait a moment, allow me to slay this human first.”
He looked at Shanling, his killing intent flaring.
The instant his murderous intent erupted, Evran glanced quickly at Shanling.
Yet his expression remained indifferent, neither happy nor sad, as if everything was unrelated to him, without a single trace of panic.
“Bloom, Blood Rose—Thorn Blade!”
Crimson lightning once again coiled around Julius’s body, hissing as it tore through the air like a venomous snake striking.
The Exterminators secretly watching from a distance felt their legs go weak the moment they saw that terrifying red lightning, and they collapsed to the ground—it was that move again!
Just like before, that single bolt of red lightning had shattered War Shield’s strongest defense…
—That was the power of a monster!
Shanling’s ears twitched slightly.
He seemed to be listening to the sound of the wind.
His gaze was not on Julius, but instead directed towards a tall building in the distance.
For some reason, he felt a sense of urgency in his heart.
He was clearly in the process of clearing out the Bloodkin within the Imaginary Space, yet this sense of urgency was growing stronger and stronger, almost like the feeling of something precious to him falling into the hands of another.
There was no basis for this inference; it was purely intuition.
Like a form of telepathy, he was now beginning to worry about his younger sister.
‘That girl… she should be sleeping soundly at home right now, right?’
“Hey… hey hey… that Exterminator is done for, isn’t he!
It’s that red lightning again… Senior War Shield couldn’t block that attack even at full power, and this Exterminator doesn’t seem to have noticed at all…”
That nonchalant attitude was completely different from War Shield’s prepared and solemn stance.
“Strike!” Julius roared.
This time he held nothing back.
The power of this strike was even greater than the last.
Evran had no intention of stepping in to stop him, which Julius found perplexing.
Normally, no Bloodkin would want their own kin to die so easily.
Especially not being killed right before their eyes.
Julius’s plan was to wait for Evran to make a move, exhaust most of her stamina, and then notify the Bloodkin High Council to come and arrest her.
But why was Queen Evran showing no reaction…
‘What is she planning?’
But no matter what, this human kin had obtained the bloodline of the Thirteenth Progenitor.
He must be slain!
A thunderclap descended from the sky as Julius’s sword thrust forward in an instant.
He could shorten a distance of two hundred meters to zero in the blink of an eye, let alone a thrust at such close range.
Shanling happened to lift his head and look towards the Trade Center tower in the distance.
He felt strongly that the source of his unease… was on the roof of that building.
Something must be there.
‘Is it Sheffield?’
‘It will definitely hit—!’
A contemptuous smile appeared on Julius’s face at almost the same moment.
This human, Evran’s kin, showed no signs of preparing to defend against his attack.
That was because he did not yet know the power of the Thorn Blade strike.
The price of underestimation is death.
Julius sneered inwardly.
“Evran, let’s go to that building in the distance.
Sheffield is likely there.
Knowing his personality, he loves to look down on everything from a high place.”
As he was speaking, Shanling reached out a hand.
The very moment Julius’s fierce strike pierced forward, his figure vanished.
The crimson lightning shot into the sky, blasting a giant vortex in the clouds.
The night sky seemed to be torn apart, its power horrifying, yet it had not harmed Shanling in the slightest, despite the short distance!
‘At such a close range… how is that possible!?’
Julius’s pupils shrank, and he stared blankly at the sky that had been pierced by the lightning.
‘I couldn’t see… I couldn’t see anything.’
‘How on earth did this guy dodge it!?’
“Is that all you have?”
Shanling’s figure suddenly appeared in mid-air, his right hand slowly drawing the Blade of Extermination from his waist—
In an instant, a golden brilliance surged forth like a waterfall, and a sacred and forbidden aura swept across the entire area!
This was the power of his family’s bloodline.
It was the one thing Sheffield could not take away.
“The power of lightning…”
Shanling’s eyelids drooped, his voice as cold as ice.
“Is not meant to be used like this.”“Allow me to teach you one final lesson, Bloodkin.”
In that moment, heavy dark clouds, like a charging army of thousands, rushed in and locked down the sky like cold shackles, imprisoning the space.
An oppressive, prison-like atmosphere assaulted them, and the sudden change in weather sliced through the turbulent air.
Julius felt his own breathing become ragged.
And the Exterminators hiding on the side felt as if a demon had seized them by the throat; they felt they were about to suffocate.
And unlike being directly choked, it was not their airways being constricted, but the very air within this area.
The air itself had reached a suffocating state.
Myriad bolts of thunder and lightning streaked across the sky, the fleeting flashes like a demonstration of the Thunder God’s might.
Julius’s vision had become completely blurred; he could no longer even pinpoint Shanling’s location.
The magnificent aura and the trembling earth struck fear into his heart, and the hand holding his sword began to tremble involuntarily.
‘What is this… is this the apocalypse?’
‘Are you kidding me!?’
Fear poured down his spine like ice water.
That golden aura… could it be that human Chief Exterminator?
‘No, impossible, that man died long ago…’
Julius’s hand was shaking.
He found himself feeling afraid.
He was just a human who had inherited a Bloodkin’s power, how, how could this be!?
But then, a desolate look fell over Julius’s eyes, and he smiled bitterly:
“No… I have lost.
Regardless of who you are, the lightning you command now is far superior to my own…”
BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM——————!!!
A giant bolt of lightning like an aurora struck down, followed by tens of thousands of blinding flashes exploding at once!
Vision was swallowed by a deathly white, the deafening roar shook the heavens, and everything within range was utterly pierced and annihilated by the light—
Outside the aurora stood Evran and the crowd of Exterminators, the fierce wind whipping their clothes wildly.
Within the aurora, a lone, dark silhouette remained, consumed and dissipated by the golden extermination aura in the light.
“Arrrggghhhhh—!”
Julius’s face was contorted as he struggled with twisted limbs in the light, letting out a final, tragic scream.
“Let’s go, Evran.
The Bloodkin’s main force has been mostly annihilated.
Next, it’s time to settle the old score with that guy.”“Ah, ah, okay, alright.
Woah… I only gave you the power of a Bloodkin, so what was that massive spectacle just now…”
Evran, standing to the side, was also dumbfounded.
‘As expected of Lord Shanling, the former Chief Exterminator, this divine power…’
From within the dazzling light, Shanling’s departing figure descended.
He tugged at the brim of his hat, which had been slightly upturned by the wind, and left with a low voice and a wave of his sleeve:
“Slay me?
Bloodkin, you seem to have thought it too simple.”
