Chapter 74: Unacceptable

It had rained heavily last night, and the air that morning still carried a damp chill.

Liu Qiu saw Su Li in the Liu family courtyard.

Fang Lian was saying something to Su Li, whose face looked slightly pale.

Liu Qiu sat on the rooftop, not daring to approach, but Su Li seemed to have already sensed her presence and lifted her gaze upward.

Liu Qiu shrank her neck instinctively, suddenly recalling the image of Su Li with her mouth covered in blood.
She had not expected Su Li to return here.

After Fang Lian left, Liu Qiu thought Su Li would call her over.
But Su Li made no move at all and simply turned to walk inside.

Liu Qiu felt that something about Su Li was strangely off.

Yet even by nightfall, she still could not figure out why.

Tonight, Liu Huang handed the puppet over to Liu Feng.

As for Liu Feng, Liu Qiu was already a little afraid of her.
She did not want to be caught by her again.

“Autumn Sister, why won’t you come out?” Liu Feng’s gentle voice drifted up.

“Did last night frighten you? Feng’er was only joking with Autumn Sister.”

On the roof of Liu Feng’s room, Liu Qiu revealed an annoyed expression.

She had nowhere else to go.
She could not leave the puppet, though she could enter it and control it to walk away.

But at the puppet’s pace, who knew how long it would take to reach anywhere else?
Besides, she needed to remain here.

“Autumn Sister, I’ve heard that human blood contains yang energy.
Are you tired and unwilling to respond to Feng’er?”

“If that’s the case, then Feng’er will give Sister some more blood.”

From the roof, Liu Qiu could clearly hear her words and frowned slightly.
Was Liu Feng playing another trick?

She would not fall for it this time.
If Liu Feng caught her, she would surely be teased again.

Staring at the dark sky, Liu Qiu gradually sensed something was wrong.
Her mouth was filled with the metallic taste of blood.

Her breath caught, and she immediately drifted into the room.

Inside the dim chamber, candlelight flickered.
The firelight cast distorted shadows on the walls, twisting and swaying like struggling evil spirits.

Liu Qiu’s mind went blank.
Her lips moved faintly.
“You…”

Liu Feng lifted her head to look at Liu Qiu floating in midair and smiled softly.
“Autumn Sister, it seems you have strength now.”

Liu Feng always did things beyond her expectations.
Like now—her hand was clenched tightly, allowing blood to drip onto the puppet below.

She wore only a single thin garment.
Her slender frame looked fragile, and fine beads of sweat gradually formed on her smooth forehead.

For a moment, Liu Qiu was speechless.
She drifted closer and reached out to hold Liu Feng’s hand.

Liu Feng lowered her lashes, casting shadows beneath her eyes, her smile deepening slightly.
“Autumn Sister, do you like it?”

Liu Qiu pressed her lips together and said nothing.
She pried Liu Feng’s fingers open.

A deep gash had been carved across her pale palm.

Bright red blood continued to flow from the wound, staining her entire hand.

How could someone hurt themselves like this?

“It did hurt at first,” Liu Feng said faintly, her voice ethereal in the dim yellow light, “but with Autumn Sister holding it, it doesn’t seem to hurt anymore.”

The smell of blood was strong, filling Liu Qiu’s nose.

Holding Liu Feng’s hand, she murmured, “Don’t do this again next time.”

“If you call me, I’ll come out.”

“But you can’t scare me, and you can’t joke like you did last night.
I’ll be afraid.”

Behind lowered lashes, a dark glint flashed through Liu Feng’s eyes.
An emotion called pleasure filled her heart in an instant.

“Alright. I won’t scare you.”

Her phoenix eyes curved gently.
Though she had the same face as Liu Huang, the feeling she gave was entirely different.

“What should I do then…” she murmured so softly that Liu Qiu did not catch it.

“What did you just say?” Liu Qiu asked.

Liu Feng tightened her palm, the sting making her body tremble lightly.
“Autumn Sister, I think I’m sick.”

Liu Qiu frowned and pried her fingers apart again.
“If you’re sick, you should see a doctor.”

Hurting oneself like this truly was a kind of illness.

Liu Feng lifted her other hand and pressed it against the back of Liu Qiu’s neck, her voice gentle.
“It’s a heart illness.
How could a doctor cure that?”

Warmth spread from her touch, making Liu Qiu uncomfortable, but she ignored it.
She only wanted Liu Feng to bandage the wound instead of feeding blood to the puppet.

“Liu Feng, go wrap your hand.”

Her crimson lips parted slightly as she spoke.
She noticed Liu Feng’s gaze had grown somewhat dazed, staring fixedly at her mouth.

“Liu Feng.”

Liu Feng responded softly.
Her hand at Liu Qiu’s nape rubbed lightly before withdrawing.
She obediently found cloth and began wrapping her injured palm.

Head lowered, she wound the bandage around and around, her long hair falling to cover half her face.

Liu Qiu finally exhaled in relief and turned toward the table where the puppet lay.

The puppet’s small clothes were mostly soaked in blood, even its face stained.

A sense of discomfort rose within her.
Anything that happened to the puppet affected her soul-body as well.

Her attention was entirely on the puppet and she failed to notice that Liu Feng had already finished bandaging and was now watching her.

A gentle smile curved her lips, yet her eyes were damp and burning with sticky, heated longing—desire like a quiet flame.

Night wind slipped through the unclosed window, making the candlelight flicker.

Liu Feng silently curled her lips.

Liu Qiu was still staring at the puppet, wondering if washing it would…

Suddenly, a hand reached from behind and brushed her long hair to the front.

She stiffened.
When had Liu Feng come up behind her?

Before she could turn around, her waist was wrapped in both arms.
Her back sank into Liu Feng’s embrace.

Warm breath touched the back of her neck—so close that her entire body tensed.
“Liu Feng, what are you doing?”

Liu Feng pressed her lips against Liu Qiu’s pale nape, rubbing slowly.

“Liu Feng.”

When Liu Qiu called her name a second time, Liu Feng shifted her weight downward.
Forced to brace herself on the table, Liu Qiu’s waist bent as her hips pressed back against Liu Feng’s leg.

It was as if Liu Feng intended to push her down onto the table.

“You said you wouldn’t tease me,” Liu Qiu protested.

Liu Feng lifted her head and laughed softly.
“Autumn Sister, this isn’t teasing.”

She lifted Liu Qiu in her arms and carried her to the bed.

Then she pressed down over her.
Caught off guard, Liu Qiu was kissed directly, heat flowing through their entwined lips and spreading through her body.

Her mind gradually grew hazy.
She let go of Liu Feng’s shoulders and instead wrapped her arms around her neck, parting her lips to draw in her living energy.

Dark mist crept into her clear eyes, turning them eerie and cold.

Droplets slid from the corner of her mouth before she could swallow them.
Liu Feng pressed her hand to Liu Qiu’s forehead and gently pulled back.

“So that’s why Autumn Sister suddenly became so proactive,” she murmured.

Had she lost her reason?

Liu Feng lay back calmly.
“If you want it, come take it yourself.”

As soon as she spoke, Liu Qiu climbed atop her, pressing her beneath.
Liu Feng’s smile softened further as she tore away the bandage on her palm.

She held her wounded hand up.
“Blood.
Do you want it, Autumn Sister?”

Liu Qiu did not answer.
She simply seized her hand and began licking.

Red lips, pale skin, black eyes, and a chill aura—she truly resembled a vengeful ghost.

Liu Feng lay beneath her, pressing a hand to the back of Liu Qiu’s neck, her gaze deepening.
“Is this enough?”

Of course, Liu Qiu did not respond.

Liu Feng bit her own tongue and extended it.
Just as she expected, Liu Qiu immediately covered it with her own, kissing her tightly.

Her body grew increasingly weak, her face turning bloodless.

With a creak, the window swung open and silver moonlight poured in.
Liu Feng’s eyes shifted.

A small snow-white fox sat at the window.

Golden pupils glowed faintly red in the night.

Unfortunately, Liu Qiu could not hear the notifications.
Her mind was blank, acting purely on instinct.

“Autumn Sister, there’s a beast watching,” Liu Feng murmured faintly.

She wrapped her arms around Liu Qiu more tightly as her strength drained away.
Her eyes slowly closed.

The darkness in Liu Qiu’s eyes thickened like ink, as though capable of devouring souls.

Su Li could not see that.
She only saw Liu Qiu straddling another and kissing her willingly.

Humans truly were vile.

So that was why she had died suddenly while still alive—she couldn’t bear to leave her sisters.

She was Su Li’s wife, yet she shamelessly pressed another beneath her.

Su Li should never have expected anything from a human.

Twisted malice rose within her.
Had she been too gentle?

She should have understood earlier.
Perhaps those previous times she had witnessed something were also initiated by Liu Qiu.

She would return Liu Qiu to that body again.
This time, she would not be gentle.

She would make her afraid.
Make her obedient.
Make her loyal.

As a demon, she had plenty of ways to punish an unfaithful human.

[Host, I’m shocking you.]

The voice in her mind startled Liu Qiu.
A violent current seemed to split down from her head, pain coursing through her body.

The darkness faded from her eyes, clarity returning.

Liu Qiu regained consciousness.

Realizing what she had been doing, she froze and abruptly released Liu Feng’s lips.

Seeing Liu Feng’s tightly shut eyes and bloodless face, panic seized her.
What had happened?

A fox’s cry sounded.

She hurriedly looked up and met the small fox’s gaze.

With a soft whine, it leapt from the window and vanished.

Liu Qiu pressed her lips together and did not chase after it.
Her mouth was thick with the taste of blood.

She looked down at Liu Feng, her gaze landing on her swollen lips.

At a complete loss, she did not know what she had done to leave Liu Feng like this.

The bandage around her hand had come undone again.

[System, what did I just do?]

[Host, you seemed to lose your mind and pinned her to the bed, kissing her the whole time.
I had just finished gaming and saw that scene, so I shocked you.]

Liu Qiu nearly wanted to cry.
How could she have done something like that?

If the system hadn’t shocked her, she might have gone even further.

[System, thank you.]

She gathered ghostly energy into her hands and carefully rewrapped the bandage around Liu Feng’s wounded palm.

Her voice was hoarse and soft.
“Liu Feng… I’m sorry.”

The side effects of becoming a ghost were growing stronger.
