Today, Fu Jinyin came back very early.
Liu Qiu placed the sashimi on the table and called for Fu Jinyin to come eat.
But Fu Jinyin just kept looking at her.
Liu Qiu frowned slightly and asked, “Jinyin, what’s wrong?”
She didn’t receive an answer.
Instead, she saw Fu Jinyin blink once, and crystalline tears suddenly spilled from her eyes.
Liu Qiu hurried over.
When she got closer, she noticed Fu Jinyin’s hair was slightly messy, and her suit was wrinkled.
Even the tie she had neatly tied that morning had become crumpled.
“What happened?” Liu Qiu felt like Fu Jinyin had been bullied, but she couldn’t imagine who would dare bully her.
She took out a tissue, intending to wipe Fu Jinyin’s tears.
But just as her hand was about to touch her face, her wrist was suddenly grabbed.
Fu Jinyin’s grip was strong, squeezing hard enough to make Liu Qiu’s wrist ache.
Liu Qiu’s fingers curled instinctively, and she called softly, “Jinyin.”
Fu Jinyin’s voice was hoarse and rough.
Her words came slowly but clearly.
“Liu Qiu… I… I feel so wronged.”
Yes.
She really felt wronged.
“My heart hurts so much.”
“I am… a failure.”
Her tears became even more uncontrollable.
Fu Jinyin suddenly reached out and pulled Liu Qiu into her arms, hugging her tightly.
“I feel so wronged.”
Liu Qiu didn’t know how to comfort her.
This was the first time Fu Jinyin had expressed her emotions so clearly.
She could even hear the trembling in Fu Jinyin’s voice.
What on earth had happened to make her this miserable?
Liu Qiu didn’t resist the hug.
Instead, she wrapped her arms around Fu Jinyin’s back and gently patted her.
“Jinyin, what happened? Can you tell me?”
Fu Jinyin fell silent.
She tightened her arms around Liu Qiu as if trying to melt her into her body.
Those people were always cruel.
Before, they had used her body for experiments.
And now they were trying to force her to divorce.
She didn’t want a divorce.
“I hate you very much, Liu Qiu. I really hate you.”
Before, she truly thought she hated Liu Qiu.
Liu Qiu was terrible.
But now she didn’t know anymore.
She didn’t want to divorce Liu Qiu.
And she didn’t want Liu Qiu to like someone else either.
Liu Qiu always made her feel irritated.
Yet she didn’t want to kill Liu Qiu anymore.
Fu Jinyin couldn’t deal with her emotions well.
But she knew one thing.
When she cried, Liu Qiu would comfort her.
Liu Qiu’s presence felt warm.
She didn’t want to let go.
Liu Qiu nodded.
“I know. It’s okay. If you hate me a little more, will it make you feel better?”
Fu Jinyin buried her face in Liu Qiu’s neck.
Her tears streamed endlessly, soaking the side of Liu Qiu’s neck.
“Liu Qiu… I can’t handle it.”
“I feel terrible.”
“You’re not allowed… to be with someone else.”
The words were illogical.
Liu Qiu couldn’t make sense of them, but she still replied, “I’m not with anyone else.”
The hug lasted a long time.
So long that Liu Qiu’s legs started to feel weak before Fu Jinyin finally let go.
Fu Jinyin’s eyes were red.
Her tears had drenched her cheeks, making her look even more disheveled.
Liu Qiu exhaled softly and pressed her lips together.
“Jinyin… are you hungry?”
Fu Jinyin nodded.
Her voice was extremely hoarse.
“Hungry.”
A faint smile appeared on Liu Qiu’s face.
The more she interacted with Fu Jinyin, the more she felt that she resembled a child.
She led Fu Jinyin to the dining table.
“Eat. It’s very fresh.”
Fu Jinyin sat down.
She wiped away her tears with a tissue and quietly began eating the sashimi.
Her head hung low, completely hiding her face.
Liu Qiu wasn’t very good at comforting people.
Besides, Fu Jinyin didn’t want to talk about what had happened.
So Liu Qiu simply sat beside her and watched her finish the sashimi bit by bit.
Then she remembered what Liu Yaoming had said a few days ago.
Her eyelashes trembled slightly.
“Jinyin.”
“If the company collapsed, would you feel sad?”
Fu Jinyin was silent for a moment before replying, “I don’t know.”
She didn’t know what sadness was.
She only knew disgust, rejection, and grievance.
Liu Qiu lowered her long eyelashes.
Forget it.
Since Fu Jinyin wasn’t bringing up divorce herself, then she wouldn’t mention it either.
At the same time, far away in Country A, Duan Fan had just managed to get through to Duan Liming’s phone.
After calling all night, the call was finally answered at dawn.
Duan Fan’s breathing was heavy.
She hadn’t slept well for many days.
Dark circles shadowed her eyes.
“Big sister… can you let Liu Qiu go?”
“She’s very stupid. Her genes won’t be that great either.”
“And besides, you’ve barely met her. You don’t even know what kind of person she is.”
Her voice was hoarse.
The spirited confidence she once had was completely gone.
Every day she feared that Liu Qiu had already married Duan Liming.
But there had been no news from the Duan Corporation online.
So Duan Liming hadn’t started yet.
President of the Duan Corporation.
Such a prestigious title.
If she got married, the media would definitely report it everywhere.
No news meant no marriage.
Duan Fan comforted herself with this thought every day.
If Liu Qiu really married Duan Liming, then she would never have a chance with Liu Qiu in this lifetime.
“Duan Fan.”
Duan Liming had just finished bathing.
Her hair was still damp as she sat on the sofa.
Her phone was placed on the table.
In her hand was a magazine cover featuring Liu Qiu.
It was a thin booklet.
Each page showed Liu Qiu wearing different outfits.
But every single one of them was breathtakingly beautiful.
As soon as Duan Liming spoke, Duan Fan’s eyes turned red.
“You said Liu Qiu has excellent genes… suitable.”
“Sis, I’m already twenty-eight. I finally like someone. Can you stop competing with me for her?”
If Duan Liming wanted to take someone, how could Duan Fan possibly compete?
Even the money she spent normally came from her sister.
Duan Liming’s calm voice came from the other side of the phone.
Low and indifferent.
“Duan Fan, your feelings don’t represent anything.”
“I didn’t take anything from you.”
Duan Fan irritably ruffled her hair.
“She just doesn’t like me right now!”
“Sis, I’m begging you. Don’t marry Liu Qiu.”
If Duan Liming said it, she would definitely do it.
It was only a matter of time.
Duan Liming flipped open the magazine.
On the first page was Liu Qiu wearing a one-piece bunny pajama suit, looking adorable.
More interesting than expected.
“Duan Fan, is there anything else?”
“I didn’t answer your call to listen to this.”
The anger Duan Fan had been suppressing suddenly surged.
“You know this is the only thing I want to talk about!”
“Otherwise let me return to the country!”
Duan Liming turned to the second page and replied calmly.
“Okay.”
“Tomorrow, I’ll have Chaoyue pick you up.”
Duan Fan’s breathing stopped.
She hadn’t expected her sister to agree.
Even after the call ended, she remained stunned.
She could go back.
She could see Liu Qiu again.
She had to tell Liu Qiu what Duan Liming was planning.
It was 4 a.m. in Country A and 9 p.m. in Country Z.
Liu Qiu was already lying in bed.
Recently Fu Jinyin had been coming home early.
After dinner and a shower, it was still quite early.
Her comic had already been updated with more than a dozen panels.
Although each update was short, she had gradually gained dozens of followers.
The comments had also increased slightly.
And one particular follower, Li, always commented very early.
Always praising her drawings.
Liu Qiu scrolled through the interface.
Seeing Li’s comments made the corners of her lips lift slightly.
It felt nice.
Every time, Li would comment on her work.
[Host, watch TV with me, okay? We haven’t had happy two-person TV time for a long time.]
The system’s mechanical voice echoed in her mind.
Liu Qiu closed her phone and agreed.
She didn’t have anything else to do anyway.
What had happened to Fu Jinyin made her feel restless.
Watching a drama with the system might help distract her.
Time quietly passed.
Before she knew it, it was already midnight.
The drama the system found was extremely good.
Liu Qiu hadn’t relaxed her mind like this in a long time.
She ended up watching all the way to the finale.
[System, I’m sleepy. You should rest too.]
[Okay. Good night, host. Entering sleep mode.]
Liu Qiu slowly closed her eyes.
Sleepiness swept over her mind, and she quickly fell asleep.
“Gooji—”
A strange sound rang by her ear.
Liu Qiu slowly woke from her sleep.
The room wasn’t completely dark.
Bright moonlight filtered through the window.
Her eyelids felt heavy.
She only opened her eyes slightly, her long straight eyelashes covering her pupils so tightly that it was hard to tell if she was awake.
“Gooji—”
The sound was faint.
Sticky and squishy.
Her mind was still hazy.
She shifted her gaze beneath her lashes and looked toward the bedside.
Something purple-black entered her vision.
Liu Qiu’s entire body stiffened.
What… was that?
Wasn’t that Fu Jinyin?
Where were her legs?
Why were there only sticky, wriggling tentacles?
Liu Qiu’s scalp went numb.
Was she dreaming?
She quietly closed her eyes again, trying to dispel the dream.
But the next moment—
A cold, wet sensation touched her calf.
Something was wriggling along her leg with a faint suction.
She could clearly feel her skin being sucked.
Liu Qiu’s heart started racing wildly.
Fu Jinyin is a monster!
And that unreliable system didn’t even warn her!
Liu Qiu forced herself to calm down.
Between crying and screaming, she chose silence.
She had the feeling that if Fu Jinyin realized she knew the truth, she might kill her.
After all, Fu Jinyin hated her so much.
The cold sensation had already spread to her thigh.
Liu Qiu’s body was tense.
No wonder she always woke up feeling uncomfortable.
So there had been a monster messing with her at night.
What exactly did Fu Jinyin want to do?
Liu Qiu didn’t dare make a sound.
She didn’t even dare open her eyes.
She pretended to turn over, facing away from Fu Jinyin.
It probably wasn’t trying to kill her.
If it were, she would have died long ago.
When she turned over, the tentacles suddenly retracted.
But after confirming she hadn’t woken up, they crawled over her body again.
They slipped inside from her hem, collar, waistband, and pant legs.
One even wrapped around her neck, tightening slightly.
Liu Qiu slowly clenched the small blanket in her hand.
All the tentacles on her body began tightening.
Including the one around her neck.
The faint suffocation forced Liu Qiu’s lips to part.
Her cheeks flushed red.
“Gooji—”
“Liu Qiu… I’m sorry.”
Fu Jinyin’s hoarse voice echoed in the quiet room.
Liu Qiu almost thought she had been discovered.
But Fu Jinyin continued.
“I’m sorry. I shouldn’t take advantage of you… while you’re asleep… like this.”
“But I feel so wronged. My heart hurts so much.”
“Why… can’t I handle it?”
Fu Jinyin spoke softly and slowly.
But the night was so quiet that Liu Qiu heard every word clearly.
Her breathing halted.
The tentacles controlled her limbs.
The cold sensation was unmistakable.
Liu Qiu realized what Fu Jinyin was doing.
First a little.
Then more and more.
Liu Qiu suddenly covered her mouth to stop herself from crying out.
Her eyes reddened instantly, filling with tears.
“Liu Qiu… I’m sorry.”
This was insane.
Why was there suction?
It felt too clear.
Liu Qiu’s eyes rolled upward uncontrollably.
The tentacles around her waist, neck, and limbs tightened further.
She was struggling to breathe.
Was Fu Jinyin always like this?
Had she been drugged before?
Otherwise how could she not notice being treated like this?
“Gooji—”
The sounds grew heavier and faster.
Liu Qiu opened her lips uncomfortably.
Saliva slid from the corner of her mouth.
The suction felt unbearable.
Why did it feel like suction cups?
They were completely attached to her flesh.
“Liu Qiu… I’m sorry.”
Fu Jinyin’s trembling voice kept apologizing again and again.
“Enough—!”
Liu Qiu suddenly pushed herself up and shouted.
Fu Jinyin’s face turned pale instantly.
Even in the darkness she could clearly see Liu Qiu.
She had woken up.
She had seen everything.
Seen her.
Seen the tentacles.
“Liu Qiu, I—”
Before she could finish, tears poured from her eyes again.
Under the moonlight, Liu Qiu saw her clearly.
Like a child who had done something wrong.
That usually cold face now showed helpless panic.
Liu Qiu sighed helplessly.
“Jinyin… can you come out first?”
“And the tentacle around my neck… can you remove it? I’m having trouble breathing.”
Her voice was hoarse.
She truly felt suffocated.
Seeing Fu Jinyin like this, she couldn’t even scold her.
Fu Jinyin bit her lip.
Tears kept falling.
“Liu Qiu… I’m sorry.”
“I can’t control it.”
Liu Qiu’s body was weak.
But she thought blankly—
At least Fu Jinyin wouldn’t kill her.
Though if this continued, she might die in bed.
Sweat formed on Liu Qiu’s forehead.
“Jinyin… it’s okay.”
“Don’t cry.”
“We’re partners. This is normal.”
She didn’t understand why Fu Jinyin had gone from rejecting intimacy to this.
But first she needed to stop her.
Her body felt numb.
“Jinyin… come onto the bed. I’m not afraid of you.”
It’s okay.
She could make Fu Jinyin lose her strength.
Tentacles were truly outrageous.
Out of the corner of her eye, Liu Qiu saw her own clothing bulging.
Her heart went cold.
Fu Jinyin’s body trembled slightly.
Liu Qiu said she wasn’t afraid.
And even asked her to come onto the bed.
A strange warmth spread through her chest.
Her heart felt hot.
Fu Jinyin slowly climbed onto the bed and pressed her body against Liu Qiu.
All the tentacles seemed to grow restless, writhing even more violently.
Liu Qiu’s eyes were moist.
Under the moonlight she looked at Fu Jinyin and whispered,
“Jinyin… can you turn them back into legs?”
Fu Jinyin didn’t answer.
But she tightly closed her eyes and forcibly retracted the tentacles.
Her face turned even paler, as if she might faint at any moment.
“Liu Qiu… I… put them away.”
Liu Qiu felt her body relax.
The suffocation disappeared.
Though everything still felt sticky.
She took a deep breath and cupped Fu Jinyin’s face.
“Jinyin… do you want to do it with me?”
Fu Jinyin stared at Liu Qiu’s flushed cheeks.
Her lips trembled.
After a long pause, she whispered a single word.
“Yes.”
Yes.
She wanted to.
She really wanted to.
“My heart feels so hot.”
“It’s beating so fast.”
“What should I do? It’s strange.”
Liu Qiu’s expression softened.
Her voice became gentle and seductive in the night.
“It’s okay. When people do this, their hearts beat fast.”
From the corner of her eye she saw a faint purple-black shadow.
Her heart jumped.
No.
She absolutely couldn’t deal with tentacles again.
She gestured for Fu Jinyin to take off her clothes and lie down.
Fu Jinyin obediently did everything.
Once again Liu Qiu saw the scars covering her body.
Fu Jinyin was thinner than she imagined.
Her ribs were faintly visible.
Liu Qiu’s heart ached.
So pitiful.
“Liu Qiu… I’m sorry.”
“I violated you… while you were sleeping.”
Liu Qiu stroked her cheek gently.
“It’s okay. We’re partners. You can do that.”
“If it’s uncomfortable, push me away.”
Her words were light.
But as Liu Qiu leaned down, those words sank into Fu Jinyin’s heart.
So hot.
Her heart was so hot.
Her body too.
Why was Liu Qiu licking there?
The strange sensation made Fu Jinyin clench her fingers tightly.
So strange.
She pressed a hand against Liu Qiu’s head.
“It’s strange.”
Liu Qiu’s tongue was sore.
When she pulled away, a strand of saliva stretched between them.
She sat up and lightly kissed the corner of Fu Jinyin’s lips.
“Jinyin, if it’s uncomfortable, refuse.”
Fu Jinyin’s tears never stopped.
She nodded.
“I… understand.”
Liu Qiu wasn’t unfamiliar with these matters.
From time to time she asked Fu Jinyin if she was okay.
Fu Jinyin never spoke.
She only nodded.
Liu Qiu moved gently, afraid of hurting her.
Looking at the scars on Fu Jinyin’s body, she couldn’t help asking,
“Jinyin… where did these scars come from?”
Fu Jinyin pressed her lips together.
After a long silence she said,
“I’ve had them for a long time.”
“They used knives… to cut open my body.”
“It hurt a lot.”
“I’m a monster… but I can’t heal.”
“I’m a failure.”
Liu Qiu’s heart ached painfully.
She hadn’t expected Fu Jinyin to actually answer.
She shouldn’t have asked.
Liu Qiu lowered her head and kissed her forehead.
“It’ll be okay in the future.”
Suddenly—
Liu Qiu lifted her wet hand.
Her body collapsed weakly to the side.
She was already exhausted and had pushed herself for so long.
She felt completely drained.
Fu Jinyin should be satisfied now… right?
Just as she thought that—
Her body suddenly stiffened.
She felt that cold sensation again.
Fu Jinyin’s tentacles.
Liu Qiu’s eyes widened in disbelief.
Fu Jinyin’s tear-streaked face was filled with desire.
“Liu Qiu… I still want to.”
Liu Qiu opened her mouth.
“No—Jinyin, stop.”
But then she saw Fu Jinyin raise a hand and remove the hearing aid hanging from her ear.
Liu Qiu’s breathing stopped.
Fu Jinyin pressed her lips together.
“I don’t want… to hear you.”
She wanted to continue.
Liu Qiu had said it was okay.
Then why was she refusing now?
Tears spilled from Liu Qiu’s eyes.
She grabbed Fu Jinyin’s shoulders, trying to push her away while speaking quickly.
“Jinyin, don’t do this.”
“I’ll be on top, okay? I’ll help you.”
Unfortunately, Fu Jinyin couldn’t hear anything.
She simply lowered her head and kissed Liu Qiu deeply.
Her tongue forced its way in.
Just as Liu Qiu had done to her earlier.
But unlike Liu Qiu—
Fu Jinyin had tentacles.
“Wu—Jinyin, don’t—!”
Liu Qiu’s sobs echoed through the entire room.
She felt like she was going to die.
Her mind became hazy.
She couldn’t breathe.
The tentacle around her neck tightened.
The suffocation and numbness made her eyes roll upward.
Her mouth opened uncontrollably.
But the saliva didn’t fall.
Fu Jinyin swallowed it all.
Liu Qiu cried hard.
Her eyes became swollen.
“The tentacles… they’re sucking.”
“Fu Jinyin… I don’t want to anymore…”
But obviously, Fu Jinyin couldn’t hear her.
She continued doing things her own way.
Liu Qiu didn’t understand why monsters had so much strength.
That was the last thought she had— before she fainted.
