Chapter 119: This is getting more and more interesting

Liu Qiu couldn’t break free. In the end, she simply bit down on Duan Fan’s tongue.

It wasn’t very hard, but it was enough to make Duan Fan feel the pain.

Duan Fan indeed felt it. She withdrew her tongue and released Liu Qiu’s lips, yet her body still didn’t move away from where she was pinning Liu Qiu down.

The corners of her sharp lips lifted, her smile brazen and unrestrained.
“Liu Qiu, I want your body.”

“I want to sleep with you.”

“Like this—pinning you on the bed, the two of us naked.” Duan Fan’s breathing grew uneven, and a flame-like intensity burned in her eyes.

Liu Qiu clenched her fingers tightly, her cheeks faintly flushed.
“Duan Fan… you’re joking, right?”

Duan Fan chuckled softly and grabbed Liu Qiu’s chin before leaning down to kiss her again.

Liu Qiu frowned. Her hand slid into Duan Fan’s hair and yanked hard.

The sharp tug made Duan Fan feel the sting in her scalp. She bit down on Liu Qiu’s lip before letting go once more.

Her fingers tightened around Liu Qiu’s chin, forcing Liu Qiu to keep looking at her.

“Liu Qiu, if I put it inside you, would you still think I’m joking?”

“Hm? If that’s the case… how about letting me play this joke out?” Duan Fan panted roughly, her head tilting back along with the force of Liu Qiu pulling her hair.

A short laugh escaped her, her body trembling slightly as she laughed.
“Or we could take turns. Do you like sixty-nine? Hmm?”

Liu Qiu’s eyes widened slowly, disbelief written all over her face.

“Duan Fan… have you lost your mind?”

Duan Fan lowered her gaze, staring at Liu Qiu’s body wrapped in the short-sleeved shirt. Instead of answering, she asked,

“You slept with Fu Jinyin, didn’t you?”

“Your body is covered in marks. Liu Qiu—you’ve always liked her. Did you finally get what you wanted?”

Liu Qiu frowned, recalling how Duan Fan had tugged down her collar earlier. She must have seen the marks on her body then.

But what did that have to do with Duan Fan?

Liu Qiu didn’t want to answer. She lifted her leg and kicked Duan Fan away, then stood up from the sofa.

“I’m not sleeping with you.”

After saying that, Liu Qiu turned and headed for the door, intending to find Fu Jinyin.

Duan Fan rubbed her aching shoulder where she’d been kicked and remained seated on the sofa, watching Liu Qiu walk toward the door.

Suddenly she spoke.

“I can help you.”

“Liu Qiu, I can help you investigate the human experiments.”

Liu Qiu’s steps halted. She turned around.

Duan Fan leaned back against the sofa lazily.

“But you have to marry me.”

“Fu Jinyin watched me force you and did nothing. It’s obvious she doesn’t like you. Liu Qiu—how long are you going to keep tying yourself to her?”

“Marry me. I don’t need children. But if you’re not with me, Duan Liming will make a move against you.”

“Liu Qiu, marry me. I’ll not only help you investigate what you want, I’ll also stop Duan Liming.”

Liu Qiu listened to every single word Duan Fan said without missing one.

Staring at Duan Fan’s expressionless face, she suddenly felt that in this moment, Duan Fan was no different from Duan Liming.

Duan Fan watched Liu Qiu heavily.

She wasn’t nearly as calm as she looked.

She knew better than anyone that what she’d just said sounded no different from a threat. But this was the only way she could do it—because Liu Qiu didn’t like her.

And she only had one chance.

Duan Liming always kept his word. If she were thrown abroad again, she’d have no power to resist.

Liu Qiu pressed her lips together before speaking seriously.

“I refuse.”

With that, she turned around, opened the door, and walked out.

Duan Fan’s gaze darkened.

The room fell into silence.

Not long after, the door opened again.

But the one who came in wasn’t Liu Qiu—it was Zhao Yue.

Holding a phone, Zhao Yue looked at Duan Fan with a cheerful smile.

“Weed out.”

Duan Fan slowly curled her lips upward, picked up the cup on the table, and hurled it at Zhao Yue.

“Get out.”

After leaving Duan Fan’s company, Liu Qiu headed straight home.

Last time, when Fu Jinyin misunderstood her and Duan Liming being intimate, she had crouched at the doorway waiting.

She probably wouldn’t go far this time either.

When Liu Qiu reached the door again, she saw Fu Jinyin sitting there.

Just like last time, Fu Jinyin was curled up beside the door.

Liu Qiu slowly walked closer and crouched down.

“Jinyin,” she called softly.

Fu Jinyin didn’t respond.

Patiently, Liu Qiu called her name again and again until Fu Jinyin finally lifted her head.

Seeing Fu Jinyin’s reddened eyes, Liu Qiu pressed her lips together.

“Jinyin… I’m sorry.”

She hadn’t been able to avoid Duan Fan’s kiss in time, nor had she managed to chase after her quickly enough.

Fu Jinyin’s gaze fell on Liu Qiu’s lips. Her fingers suddenly tightened.

“You… don’t need to apologize.”

“I’m not angry.”

“I’ve done things like that before too. So… we’re even.”

She said she wasn’t angry, but tears were already spilling out one after another, falling endlessly in front of Liu Qiu.

Fu Jinyin had become very prone to crying lately.

And it was all Liu Qiu’s fault.

Liu Qiu still remembered the cold and distant Fu Jinyin from the beginning.

Fu Jinyin had only been human for six years since leaving the experiment facility. The people she’d encountered during that time were mostly cruel. No one had ever treated her gently before.

So her guard had always been extremely strong.

But recently, Fu Jinyin cried because of her again and again.

Liu Qiu had been the one to make Fu Jinyin lower her guard, yet she kept hurting her.

Liu Qiu sighed softly in her heart and softened her voice.

“Jinyin, if you’re unhappy, you should say it.”

“I’m really sorry about what happened today.”

Fu Jinyin engraved those words deep in her mind.

It felt as if no matter what she did or said, Liu Qiu would always tolerate her.

She had done many terrible things before, yet Liu Qiu had never scolded her.

Nor did she dislike her deformed body.

Fu Jinyin bit her lip.

“I’m not angry.”

“I just… feel wronged.”

“Liu Qiu… do you not like me? Are you taking revenge on me?”

“You found out… about that contract.”

Fu Jinyin’s thinking was simple.

Because Liu Qiu didn’t like her, because she had even considered divorcing her, and because she had discovered the so-called “green-hat contract” between her and Duan Fan—so Liu Qiu must be retaliating.

Duan Fan’s older sister had told her to find Duan Fan.

She must have known what would happen.

Fu Jinyin knew it was meant to sow discord, but she still wanted to see it with her own eyes.

So she went.

And she saw Liu Qiu kissing Duan Fan.

It hurt.

But she couldn’t get angry.

If she did, she’d be falling right into their trap.

So she waited outside the door.

Liu Qiu would definitely come looking for her soon.

Just like last time.

And Liu Qiu would gently comfort her.

She wouldn’t get angry.

Fu Jinyin’s long eyelashes clumped together as tears melted away her usual coldness.

Liu Qiu brushed aside the damp bangs on her forehead and looked into those pale eyes.

“Jinyin, it’s not like that.”

“Let’s go inside and talk, okay?”

Fu Jinyin nodded.

After Liu Qiu helped her up, she quietly hooked her little finger with Liu Qiu’s and followed her into the house.

They sat down on the sofa.

Liu Qiu gently held Fu Jinyin’s hand.

“I only went to see Duan Fan to ask about something.”

“Her actions were too sudden. I didn’t have time to react.”

“There’s nothing between me and her. And it’s not revenge against you.”

“I know I treated you badly before, which is why you signed that kind of contract. But I won’t hate you because of it.”

A small smile appeared on Liu Qiu’s lips, gentle and warm.

“Jinyin, you’re my partner. I’ll never hate you.”

“This time… believe me, okay?”

Fu Jinyin stared blankly at the smile on Liu Qiu’s lips.

Slowly, she raised her hand, her fingertip touching that upward curve.

This… was a smile.

Liu Qiu was smiling while saying she would never hate her.

Her heart felt hot.

And it was beating very fast.

A strange feeling.

Liu Qiu leaned forward slightly and rubbed against Fu Jinyin’s fingertip before lifting her eyes.

“Really. I won’t hate you.”

Suddenly, Liu Qiu’s eyes widened.

Fu Jinyin was smiling.

That smile was still wet with tears, yet it wasn’t sad.

Liu Qiu’s eyes curved into crescents, and small dimples appeared on both cheeks.

“Jinyin, that’s great. You’re not sad anymore, right?”

Fu Jinyin raised her other hand and touched the corner of her own lips.

So she could smile too.

“If you’re not sad… you’ll smile?”

Liu Qiu nodded.

“When you’re happy, you smile. When you’re sad, you cry.”

Fu Jinyin gazed at Liu Qiu, engraving this moment in her heart.

So this… was what happiness felt like.

Then she asked,

“If not hating… does that mean liking?”

Liu Qiu took a tissue and wiped away her tears, answering seriously,

“Not hating doesn’t necessarily mean liking.”

“Liking means that when you see that person, you feel happy.”

“You’ll think about them all the time. You’ll want to hug them, touch them, stay close to them.”

Probably.

Liu Qiu wasn’t actually very sure herself.

She just knew that whenever she saw something fluffy, she’d feel very happy and want to hug it.

Fu Jinyin looked at her.

Her hoarse voice was slow but clear, each word deliberate.

“Liu Qiu… I like you.”

Being with Liu Qiu made her happy.

She could smile.

She thought about Liu Qiu all the time.

She wanted to hug her, kiss her, sleep with her—do anything that brought them closer.

This… was liking.

Liu Qiu froze.

Her expression shifted from surprise to disbelief.

Fu Jinyin liked her?

But she hadn’t done anything worthy of being liked.

Liu Qiu blinked and replied stiffly,

“O-okay.”

Fu Jinyin reached out and grabbed Liu Qiu’s wrist, her gaze never leaving Liu Qiu’s face.

“Let’s not divorce.”

She had thought of a solution.

She could run away with Liu Qiu.

Then the bad people wouldn’t be able to find Liu Qiu anymore.

Liu Qiu felt completely confused.

Weren’t they talking about Duan Fan?

How did the conversation suddenly jump to divorce?

Fu Jinyin pressed her lips together.

She was no longer afraid of Liu Qiu discovering her tentacles. There was no need to earn money to buy medicine to suppress her body anymore.

“Let’s move,” she said.

“Liu Qiu, let’s move.”

Liu Qiu didn’t understand why Fu Jinyin suddenly wanted to move, but she nodded anyway.

Whatever Fu Jinyin wanted to do, she would accompany her.

[Looks like we’ll have to wait for the next reincarnation.]

The system sighed.

[I originally thought once the host finished her vacation we could finally rest. Now we’re going to be stuck in this world for a long time.]

Liu Qiu felt a little embarrassed.

The plot had only been slightly off before, but now it had completely collapsed.

Fu Jinyin had confessed that she liked her.

If Fu Jinyin liked someone, she probably wouldn’t go looking for others anymore.

The “green-hat value” might not be obtainable this time.

Liu Qiu asked, “When are we moving?”

Fu Jinyin looked at her steadily and said in a low voice,

“Tomorrow.”

Liu Qiu thought they were simply moving to another neighborhood.

She never expected that they would end up at the airport.

Fu Jinyin carried only a small backpack.

Still somewhat dazed, Liu Qiu was pulled along toward the airport entrance.

But just as they reached the doors, Fu Jinyin suddenly stopped.

Several men in suits blocked her path.

A bad feeling instantly rose in Liu Qiu’s chest.

She turned her head sharply.

A long black car was parked not far away.

The door opened.

And Liu Yaoming’s sharp eyes looked over.

How could this be?

Why had the original host’s mother come here?

“Miss, the boss invites you.”

The bodyguards in suits had already surrounded them.

Liu Qiu took a deep breath and squeezed Fu Jinyin’s trembling hand.

“Alright. We’ll come.”

She was afraid Fu Jinyin might reveal her tentacles here. If that happened, she would definitely be captured.

Leaning close to Fu Jinyin’s ear, Liu Qiu whispered softly,

“Don’t be afraid. Whatever my mother says, we’ll just pretend we didn’t hear it.”

Fighting here clearly wasn’t a good choice.

Fu Jinyin’s face turned pale.

They were still too late.

Holding hands, Liu Qiu led Fu Jinyin into the car.

Inside, the space was large—these stretch cars were designed almost like small rooms.

They sat opposite Liu Yaoming.

From the beginning, Liu Yaoming’s gaze landed on Fu Jinyin.

This was practically her first time meeting her daughter’s partner.

Just as the investigation reports had described—tall, thin, and utterly unremarkable.

Her temperament, appearance, even background—none of it was impressive.

“Fu Jinyin, are you trying to run away with my daughter?”

Fu Jinyin bit her lip and stared at Liu Yaoming.

Her eyes were filled with chilling killing intent.

But Liu Yaoming wasn’t afraid.

To her, Fu Jinyin was far too immature.

Fu Jinyin spoke coldly,

“Disgusting. You’re spying on us.”

Liu Yaoming chuckled lightly and turned her gaze to Liu Qiu.

“Liu Qiu, I really don’t understand why you’d fall for such a rude little mouse.”

“Ms. Liu, that has nothing to do with you. Why did you call us here?” Liu Qiu lightly scratched Fu Jinyin’s palm, signaling her not to get angry.

Liu Yaoming noticed their small interaction completely. A cold glint passed through her eyes.

“Do you remember what I said to you last time?”

“It seems you’re not worried.”

Liu Qiu immediately tightened her grip on Fu Jinyin’s fingers and turned to her.

“Jinyin, if the company disappears… will you be angry?”

Fu Jinyin slowly shook her head.

“I just don’t want a divorce.”

She remembered this woman had previously suggested that Liu Qiu divorce her.

She didn’t care about the company.

She only wanted to stay with Liu Qiu.

Liu Qiu blinked and raised her voice slightly.

“If the company disappears, I can collect trash, work as a waitress, do all kinds of jobs.”

“Those things are enough for us to survive.”

“So—”

She turned back to Liu Yaoming.

“Ms. Liu, you can’t threaten me.”

Liu Yaoming frowned deeply, looking at Liu Qiu as though she were insane.

Giving up an inheritance worth countless wealth—just to stay with Fu Jinyin.

Even willing to collect trash.

“Liu Qiu, you really should get your brain checked.”

“If you oppose me, neither of you will be able to find any job.”

“Liu Qiu, you’re twenty-eight, not eighteen. Don’t you understand something this simple?”

Liu Qiu understood perfectly.

Back then, the original host had done exactly this to Fu Jinyin—making it impossible for her to find work, leaving her unable even to afford food, forcing her into marriage.

Thinking about it made Liu Qiu wilt slightly.

Liu Yaoming had already cut ties with her daughter just because she liked women, and now she even wanted to destroy the company Liu Qiu built from scratch.

It was obvious how ruthless she was.

Making it impossible for them to find jobs was something she would absolutely do.

Fu Jinyin stared at Liu Yaoming as if she wanted to tear her apart.

Of course Liu Yaoming noticed that intense gaze.

But she had no intention of wasting time on a mere mouse.

The car slowly started moving.

“I’ll send you back,” Liu Yaoming said.

“Liu Qiu, I hope you’ll think carefully.”

“Once this matter is finished, I won’t interfere with anything you do anymore.”

The ride was silent.

Eventually, Liu Qiu and Fu Jinyin were dropped back at their apartment complex.

Liu Qiu squeezed Fu Jinyin’s fingers.

“Jinyin, we’re home.”

Fu Jinyin turned stiffly toward her.

“Will you divorce me?”

Liu Qiu shook her head.

“No.”

“Good…”

They couldn’t leave this place.

Liu Yaoming’s spies could be anywhere, watching them at all times.

That night, Liu Qiu drew out the events of the day.

Li was once again the first to comment.

Li: Running away? The story is getting more and more interesting.

Qiu: Thanks for watching. Li, do you think Miss Qiu and Miss Yin can escape?

Li: Perhaps.
