Join the ServerRampant spiritual energy coalesced into thick, swirling clouds, blanketing the world.
Within these mists, lightning crackled and raced, as if ancient behemoths thrashed in their depths.
Simultaneously, every natural disaster known to humanity—furious gales, crashing thunderbolts, earthquakes, and tsunamis—awoke across the globe.
It was a scene ripped from the pages of an apocalypse.
Though humanity had made preparations on Earth, they still appeared infinitesimally small against such overwhelming forces.
On the vast oceans, military vessels, laden with countless people, were tossed violently by towering waves. In the skies, numerous airships floated, equally crammed with individuals whose faces were etched with terror.
Only a minority had managed to board these military vessels and aircraft. Many others had sought refuge in the high-strength fortresses constructed within cities worldwide.
Whether they could withstand this cataclysmic transformation of heaven and earth was purely a matter of luck.
Bai Mengqi, along with the other powerful ability users of the Xia Kingdom, hovered in the sky, watching the unfolding chaos. Each of them couldn’t help but tremble with fear.
Over the past few years, Bai Mengqi had tirelessly collected crystal fragments, yet she had only reached the peak of the Golden Core realm. Time had simply been too short.
“Gulp! Master, what—what exactly is happening?” Yao Zi and the others swallowed hard, their eyes wide as they gazed at the unfolding scene.
Behind Bai Mengqi stood a large contingent of ability users. Possessing their own means of self-preservation, they naturally didn’t occupy the survival spaces meant for ordinary people.
Instead, they joined Bai Mengqi, bearing witness to the dawn of a new world.
Cities, torn asunder by various natural disasters, lay shattered.
Yet, beneath the earth, a violent upheaval was reshaping everything. Unknown continents began to emerge from the ocean depths.
If land previously constituted only 30% of Earth’s surface, now at least an additional 20% of landmass had appeared.
Continents once separated by vast seas were now connected.
However, some regions simultaneously sank beneath the waves. For instance, the areas where Jiang City and Shan City were located continuously descended.
“Hahaha… It’s here, it’s finally here! This world is reviving! Power, this is power!” In a remote corner of the Earth, the Evil King stood atop a mountain peak, arms outstretched. He cackled madly while absorbing the immense power of this transforming world.
His strength visibly escalated at a terrifying rate.
Yet, as he continued to absorb, a sense of unease began to creep in.
This cataclysmic change wasn’t solely benefiting him.
‘Damn it, this is a pure change in the laws of heaven and earth. If I’m gaining power, then she must be gaining power too. Once she reaches a certain level, she’ll be able to reclaim all the fragments hidden across Earth, drawing them back into her body. At that point, her combat strength will be far superior to mine!’
The Evil King cursed inwardly before immediately preparing for escape.
His joy had been premature.
However, by his demeanor, he didn’t appear overly terrified, suggesting he might have cultivated some hidden trump cards in secret over the years.
‘This should be considered a great shattering,’ he mused. ‘The laws of heaven and earth have changed. Who can truly say whether the future holds fortune or calamity?’
“Who knows what will happen,” Bai Mengqi murmured, looking at her own hands. She, too, noticed her power surging.
It wasn’t just her; all cultivators who practiced spiritual energy arts were experiencing an increase in strength.
Previously, in Japan, it was merely a spiritual energy leak, not enough to affect the fundamental laws of heaven and earth. Now, the entire world had been fundamentally altered.
Time slowly passed. This terrifying catastrophe lasted for a full three days. After the third day, the clouds dispersed, the mists cleared, and everything returned to an eerie calm.
However, a satellite view of Earth would reveal a surface utterly transformed from its former appearance.
For example, the former Xia Kingdom now featured two massive inland seas. Jiang City, in particular, was now connected to the ocean by a wide, newly formed river.
Along this river, military vessels, those that had sought refuge in the ocean, were now navigating. Bai Mengqi and the high-ranking officials of the Xia Kingdom were also aboard one of them.
“This is truly incredible. In just three days, Earth has become completely unrecognizable. Miss Bai, what is the current situation with the external anomalous energy?” Inside a sealed cabin, a high-ranking official from the Xia Kingdom conversed with Bai Mengqi.
Bai Mengqi offered a faint smile.
“It’s much safer than I anticipated. There haven’t been any mutations from anomalous energy leaks like in Japan, perhaps because it was diluted by the Earth. However, it will likely take a very long time for ordinary people to fully adapt to this new environment.”
The Xia Kingdom’s high-ranking officials all furrowed their brows, their faces etched with worry.
After the cataclysm subsided, reports poured in from all regions. They were also using satellites to survey the changes within the Xia Kingdom.
Xia Kingdom’s mountains and terrain had been fundamentally altered, and its cities had been reduced to ruins.
Many of the safety bunkers had failed to withstand the onslaught of the natural disasters. Numerous were destroyed, and those inside perished without exception.
It was a deeply saddening outcome, but Bai Mengqi and the others had done everything in their power. To expect zero casualties during such a global transformation of heaven and earth was simply impossible.
After a brief conversation with them, Bai Mengqi soared out of the military vessel. She flew upward, directly leaving Earth’s atmosphere and entering the dark expanse of space.
In her Golden Core stage, Bai Mengqi couldn’t completely escape Earth’s gravity. However, the current Bai Mengqi was capable of it, for her power had reached the Nascent Soul realm during this world-altering event.
At the same time, the Great Immortaless, who had been in slumber for several years, also awakened.
“I never imagined so much would happen on Earth during my years of slumber,” the Great Immortaless’s spirit body floated out from Bai Mengqi’s form, hovering beside her.
Bai Mengqi chuckled softly.
“There was no other way. Oh, and I encountered that fellow, the Evil King. I never thought he would possess the body of a foreign woman to revive himself, and he’s been competing with me for the immortal crystal fragments. At least a third of them were taken by him.”
The Great Immortaless closed her eyes, carefully sensing the Earth. She quickly pinpointed the Evil King’s location.
“That fellow has also reached the Nascent Soul realm. Though he’s not as strong as you, we truly cannot let him continue unchecked!”
“It’s not certain if we can eliminate him,” the Great Immortaless stated.
Bai Mengqi smiled noncommittally.
“Whether he can be eliminated is a matter for later. First, let me retrieve all the remaining fragments.” With that, Bai Mengqi raised her hand, aimed it at Earth, and closed her eyes, sensing the locations of the immortal crystal fragments.
With her current power, she could clearly perceive the energy fluctuations of the other fragments.
As her will moved, the immortal crystal fragments hidden across Earth began to rise from the ground, soaring towards the heavens.
On the other side, the Evil King also felt the movement of the fragments within her body. However, the immortal crystal fragments inside her had already been contaminated by her power, allowing her to suppress them and prevent them from leaving her body.
‘Is she summoning the immortal crystal fragments? Damn it, it seems I need to make a run for it first.’ The Evil King cursed under her breath, then shot into the sky, also fleeing Earth.
She wouldn’t surrender the fragments so easily.
Bai Mengqi naturally sensed the Evil King’s movements, but she didn’t immediately pursue.
Instead, after collecting all the remaining fragments on Earth and allowing her power to advance further, she returned to the planet.
She landed on one of Earth’s aircraft carriers and entered a cabin. Inside were all of Bai Mengqi’s relatives on Earth.
Zi Yanran and the others were also there.
Upon seeing Bai Mengqi’s arrival, everyone immediately stood up.
“Mengqi, you’re back! What’s the situation outside?” Bai Yunlong asked.
Bai Mengqi offered a wry smile.
“The world has been utterly transformed. Humanity’s previous civilization has been almost entirely destroyed. We need to rebuild our homes.”
These words brought a collective sigh of relief, yet also a sense of profound confusion.
“Alright, don’t look so pessimistic. Staying alive is the priority. Yanran, I’ve come to say goodbye. I need to leave Earth for a while.” Bai Mengqi wasted no time, directly stating her purpose.
Upon hearing this, Zi Yanran and the others immediately frowned.
“What? Leave Earth? Where are you going? When will you be back?” Zi Yanran urgently grabbed Bai Mengqi’s hand.
Ziyi and Zixuan also rushed over, their faces filled with worry as they looked at her.
Bai Mengqi smiled and shook her head.
“Don’t worry, I’m just going to retrieve what’s mine and deal with a certain menace along the way. I’ll be back very soon.”
Upon hearing Bai Mengqi’s words, everyone felt considerably more at ease.
“Alright then, go and return quickly. We’ll wait for you to come back.” Zi Yanran could only release Bai Mengqi.
Bai Mengqi gently patted Ziyi and Zixuan’s heads, then bid farewell to her family before soaring into the sky once more.
She wasn’t concerned about the safety of Zi Yanran and the others. Due to the world’s transformation, their powers had all reached the Foundation Establishment realm, which was more than enough for self-preservation.
She followed the direction of the Evil King’s escape, moving considerably faster than her.
The Evil King had fled half an hour earlier, but she soon sensed the rapidly approaching aura behind her.
‘Damn it, she’s catching up so fast? No, at this speed, I’ll definitely be overtaken. If I’m caught again, it’ll be hard to say if I can ever turn things around.’ The Evil King was acutely aware of her predicament.
After fleeing for nearly an hour, the Evil King was still overtaken by Bai Mengqi.
A streak of light shot past the Evil King, landing directly in front of her.
“Evil King, where are you off to?” Bai Mengqi sneered.
The Evil King’s expression changed. Without a moment’s thought, she immediately employed a clone technique, attempting to split and escape.
But with a mere thought from Bai Mengqi, the Evil King found herself unable to move. The immortal crystal fragments within her body uncontrollably detached and floated towards Bai Mengqi.
Bai Mengqi gazed at the dark immortal crystal fragments before her, immediately releasing her own power to dispel the corrupting energy the Evil King had infused within them.
Eventually, all the fragments merged together. Following this, a bead flew out from within Bai Mengqi, erupting with dazzling light, and the figure of the Great Immortaless gradually materialized.
The Great Immortaless had fully recovered her power.
However, upon her appearance, she looked at Bai Mengqi with an expression of doubt.
“You, do you truly want to do this?” the Great Immortaless asked.
Bai Mengqi chuckled.
“Since you still retain your remnant soul, it’s better if we don’t fully merge. Besides, I don’t want to go to the cultivation civilization. I can’t leave them.”
Originally, with the return of the immortal crystal, Bai Mengqi and the Great Immortaless were meant to completely merge, as they were fundamentally one entity. Bai Mengqi was the reincarnation of the Great Immortaless, and the Great Immortaless had, before her reincarnation, split off a remnant soul to guide her reborn self.
The moment the immortal crystal fully merged would have been the day Bai Mengqi transformed back into the Great Immortaless.
But Bai Mengqi now possessed her own will. She no longer wished to revert to her former self. Conveniently, the Great Immortaless still had a remnant soul, allowing that remnant soul to separate from Bai Mengqi’s body and exist as the Great Immortaless.
In doing so, they completely became two separate individuals.
Consequently, Bai Mengqi would lose the vast majority of her power.
The Great Immortaless stared at Bai Mengqi for a long time, then smiled helplessly.
“Very well, I understand your intentions.”
With that, she grabbed the Evil King, who, amidst enraged roars, transformed into a black bead, which the Great Immortaless held in her hand.
Then, taking Bai Mengqi, who had lost most of her power, she returned to Earth to systematically remove all of the Evil King’s hidden schemes.
Having completed all of this, the Great Immortaless finally bid farewell to Earth, taking the Evil King with her as she returned to the cultivation civilization.
As for Bai Mengqi, though she had lost the majority of her power, she could cultivate anew. With her talent, becoming strong again was merely a matter of time.
The old era had passed, and a new era had arrived.
This new era truly belonged to Bai Mengqi alone.
The End.
