Join the ServerBai Mengqi distinctly overheard their conversation.
‘Ah, these two fellows! If I truly take them as disciples, they’ll certainly need a good deal of discipline and guidance,’ Bai Mengqi mused inwardly.
Indeed, the arrogance within them was deeply ingrained, having permeated their very bones. This trait perfectly suited their status as scions of ancient aristocratic families.
They were distinct from common clans, representing the legitimate, direct lineage passed down from some of humanity’s most ancient surnames.
These families were once akin to the progenitors of the Huaxia people. In their eyes, many other surnames in Xia Kingdom were merely offshoots, collateral branches that had diverged from their own.
One could say they were the main lineage, while all others were minor branches.

Bai Mengqi and Zi Yanran did not engage in anything particularly conspicuous or out of the ordinary. They appeared to be an ordinary pair of sisters, frequenting various shops and malls.
They purchased whatever caught their eye, maintaining an air of complete normalcy.
Any espers who wished to approach Bai Mengqi could only observe from a distance. Upon their arrival, they had been explicitly instructed by their superiors to avoid conflict with the Esper Bureau at all costs.
Their task was to find a legal means of getting closer to Bai Mengqi.
And truly, these esper organizations proved incredibly resourceful. Bai Mengqi had just entered a shop specializing in traditional clothing. Zi Yanran had mentioned during their last trip to Japan that she wanted to find a suitable ancient-style outfit for Bai Mengqi.
Having stumbled upon such a shop today, they naturally couldn’t let the opportunity pass.
Zi Yanran selected a pristine, pure white ancient gown for Bai Mengqi.
“Mengqi, this is the one! This set perfectly complements your aura,” Zi Yanran declared.
Bai Mengqi offered a faint smile.
“Alright, I’ll try it on then.”
Seeing Bai Mengqi agree, Zi Yanran immediately called out for a sales assistant. However, the sales assistant who approached Bai Mengqi left her momentarily stunned.
It was a young, beautiful girl, seemingly around Bai Mengqi’s age.
More importantly, the girl was an esper.
“Hello, Miss Bai. It’s a pleasure to meet you. I am Hu Wei, a member of the Transcendent Realm organization. Might we have a chat?”
Zi Yanran froze. She quickly scanned her surroundings, wondering where the Esper Bureau agents had gone and why they would allow an esper from another faction to approach Bai Mengqi.
After a quick glance, she realized that none of the Esper Bureau agents, including the Yao siblings who had been waiting outside the door, reacted. They saw nothing amiss, nor did they detect that the sales assistant was an esper.
This was because the true individual controlling the sales assistant was several hundred meters away.
It was a young girl, facing the direction of the mall where Bai Mengqi was, her eyes closed, conversing with Bai Mengqi.
Behind her stood a group of men and women. These individuals belonged to an international esper faction known as the Transcendent Realm.
The Transcendent Realm was a loose organization, meaning its members and their activities were not registered with the Esper Bureau. It was considered an illegal organization by the Bureau, unable to conduct its activities openly.
Their modus operandi existed in a grey area between good and evil; they acted solely according to the will of their organization.
The Transcendent Realm organization pursued the ultimate limits of esper abilities, aiming for espers to replace ordinary humans as the masters of this world.
They covertly sought suitable members, each possessing remarkable esper abilities. Their ranks boasted numerous superpowered individuals, with espers from various countries.
However, its origin was in Xia Kingdom, and rumors suggested that the leader of this Transcendent Realm organization was a mysterious superpowered individual from Xia Kingdom.
Bai Mengqi could discern that the person was remotely controlling the sales assistant before her to engage in conversation.
She did not immediately refuse, but rather nodded, signifying her willingness to converse.
“Mm, speak your piece. I’m not very familiar with your organization, so it would be best if you could explain what exactly you do and what your purpose is in seeking me out,” Bai Mengqi communicated telepathically, all while observing the traditional dress Zi Yanran had chosen.
The young girl from the Transcendent Realm organization also possessed a mental ability, seemingly a form of superpower, which allowed them to converse telepathically.
“Certainly, Miss Bai. Our Transcendent Realm organization is an international esper organization, with members spread across the globe. Most of us are superpowered individuals, and our leader is also a superpowered individual. Our origin is in Xia Kingdom…”
Hu Wei quickly introduced their background and objectives. Undoubtedly, they were there to invite Bai Mengqi to join the Transcendent Realm organization.
It was perplexing, however, that only the Esper Bureau was supposed to know about Bai Mengqi’s specific circumstances. Yet, now, almost every major esper faction in Xia Kingdom was aware of her actions.
This suggested that the Xia Kingdom’s Esper Bureau was like a leaky house, long since infiltrated by various forces.
Alternatively, the Esper Bureau might have a cooperative relationship with these organizations. In exchange for their members joining the Bureau to serve the nation, the Bureau provided certain conveniences to these organizations or individuals.
“Oh? I understand. I will give it careful consideration,” Bai Mengqi responded after listening, without directly refusing.
Hu Wei immediately broke into a smile. She left Bai Mengqi a phone number, essentially indicating that if Bai Mengqi wished to contact them, she could dial that number.
Having completed all this, she released her mental control over the sales assistant.

Meanwhile, atop a distant building.
“Woohoo… done! We’ve made contact with Bai Mengqi. Everything that needed to be said has been said. I hope we get good news later. But Li, if she joins our Transcendent Realm, do you think our leader will be replaced?” Hu Wei asked, grinning at her companions behind her.
“That’s not a given. This woman managed to escape Abe Haruha’s grasp at the Jingguo Shrine. Her strength, even if not superior to his, shouldn’t be far off,” a young man in a black T-shirt analyzed.
His words made another girl, wearing glasses, chuckle.
“What, are you already thinking of replacing our leader?”
“Why not? Our leader is like a divine dragon, seen only by its head and not its tail. We barely see them a few times a year; they’re completely hands-off,” Hu Wei replied earnestly.
The group chatted and laughed as they turned and departed.
The controlled sales assistant, meanwhile, had no recollection of what had transpired. Hu Wei’s ability was more unique than those of the three Japanese espers who had previously monitored Bai Mengqi.

When Bai Mengqi emerged from the shop, she was already clad in the traditional attire Zi Yanran had chosen. The shop had even styled Bai Mengqi’s hair into an ancient coiffure.
Her appearance, her demeanor, her figure—everything blended seamlessly without the slightest hint of incongruity.
Passersby who caught sight of Bai Mengqi on the street couldn’t help but gaze at her with expressions of awe.
Even Yao Zi and her brother appeared utterly captivated.
“Sister Zi, when Bai Mengqi put on the ancient dress, she seemed far more elegant than before. She’s exactly my type!” Yao Ze exclaimed, his gaze fixed on Bai Mengqi ahead, a foolish grin plastered across his face.
Yao Zi, seeing her cousin suddenly turn into such a lovestruck fool, immediately rolled her eyes.
“Be careful, you. This Bai Mengqi might very well become our master. You’ll be in for it then,” Yao Zi warned, her expression one of exasperation.
As they walked, a person dressed in a mascot costume suddenly intercepted Bai Mengqi, then handed her and Zi Yanran a balloon.
“To the two of you, I wish you a pleasant time in Haicheng.”
Bai Mengqi paused, then accepted the balloon. However, as she took it, the person slipped a note into her hand.
There was no need to look; beneath the mascot costume was yet another esper attempting to approach Bai Mengqi by any means necessary.
After handing over the items, the person immediately walked away.
Bai Mengqi handed the balloon to Zi Yanran, then glanced at the message on the note.
It read: “Miss Bai, hello. I am a Daoist from the True Martial Sect of the Daoist Association. My master, Pure Yang True Person, wishes to meet you. If you have time, please come to True Martial Mountain for a discussion.”
This time, it was someone from the Daoist sect.
Pure Yang True Person, also known as True Person Chunyang, was currently the foremost figure in the Daoist sect. His desire to meet Bai Mengqi likely pertained to matters related to immortal cultivation.
If one were to ask which force in the Xia Kingdom’s esper world harbored the greatest desire for immortality, it would undoubtedly be the Daoist sect.
The Daoist sect itself was a remnant of the ancient immortal cultivation world.
“Each and every one of them is truly relentless,” Bai Mengqi couldn’t help but chuckle.
She continued forward, encountering numerous individuals who attempted to strike up conversations along the way. Without exception, they were all espers from other factions.
Even the Buddhist sect couldn’t resist, sending a beautiful young nun to approach Bai Mengqi under the guise of soliciting alms.
Yet, all of this was actually under the control of the Esper Bureau. They understood that it was largely impossible to completely restrict these espers.

On the other side, Mu Tianrui, who had just seen off Elder Yao, was experiencing a terrible headache.
He had been continuously receiving reports from his subordinates, all essentially informing him of how many esper factions had approached Bai Mengqi.
Mu Tianrui let out a long sigh.
“Forget it, let them be.”
In the afternoon, Bai Mengqi and Zi Yanran returned to the Esper Bureau. Upon their return, Mu Tianrui immediately sought them out.
“Miss Bai, I’ll be direct. Would you be willing to join our Esper Bureau? If you agree, I will even yield my position as director to you,” Mu Tianrui stated resolutely.
If she hesitated any longer, Bai Mengqi might very well be swayed by other factions.
Mu Tianrui’s words were certainly within her expectations.
“Joining your Esper Bureau, does that make me a civil servant?” Bai Mengqi quipped.
Mu Tianrui chuckled.
“Absolutely! Moreover, by joining our Esper Bureau, you will enjoy privileges that ordinary people and ordinary espers do not. Of course, I can tell, Miss Bai, that you are not the type who enjoys being constrained. If you dislike restrictions, we can arrange a leisurely position for you within the Esper Bureau. We will notify you only when major matters arise; ordinarily, you may do as you please, as long as it does not endanger national security.”
No sooner had she finished speaking than Bai Mengqi readily agreed.
“Alright, no problem. I can join the Esper Bureau.”
Bai Mengqi’s sudden agreement left Mu Tianrui momentarily stunned.
She had expected to expend a great deal of effort in persuasion. The fact that Bai Mengqi agreed so directly, however, made her somewhat suspicious of Bai Mengqi’s motives.
