Chapter 114: The Demon’s Arrival and a Fiery Reunion

The clouds drifted across the sky, allowing moonlight to once again spill forth. This subtle shift in light obscured Alice’s figure, preventing the two from hearing her approach.

Jeanne Decker would likely find it difficult to recognize the person before her as the witch from their last encounter.

This time, Alice’s entire body and face were concealed by the witch’s gown. She still bore the same pair of horns on her head and wings on her back, yet her overall appearance had undergone significant changes.

Her entire form was now encased in black demonic carapace.

Sharp spikes protruded from her shoulders and back. Her monstrous demonic claws seemed even larger than those of the Killer. The shape of her horns was also a size larger than in her succubus form, and the leathery wings spanned a greater width, though the wings themselves appeared tattered and broken.

Alice took a deep breath, feeling the searing power surge through her chest.

Both were Sixth-Tier transformation abilities, but the “Demon” form exuded a much greater sense of power than the “Succubus” form, making it far more suitable for combat.

Both the Killer and Jeanne Decker felt an unusual sense of oppression emanating from her. The combat prowess of this demon form was evident from its very appearance.

Alice had swallowed the red soul given to her by the Mad Hatter from a hundred meters away. The Mad Hatter had previously explained the power of the Sixth-Tier “Demon” form to her.

Blessed individuals of the Mid-Tier “Abyss” path, much like “Witches,” could imbue their bodies with the characteristics of demonic beasts. Not only would their strength be enhanced, but they would also gain a certain degree of night vision.

Furthermore, upon transforming into a “Demon,” her entire body could be covered in a hard demonic carapace, and she would sprout wings and horns. The “Demon’s” wings were similar to those of a “Succubus”; while they couldn’t sustain long-distance flight, they were more than sufficient for short glides at low altitudes.

While the “Abyss” pathway’s mental sacrifice ability provided a certain counter to魅惑 abilities, and the Killer was likely wary of poison after their previous encounter, the “Demon’s” power could, without a doubt, crush “Witchcraft” of the same tier.

Thus, she unhesitatingly abandoned the beast-transformation potion and chose the “Demon” form.

Using the brief moment the clouds obscured the moonlight, she flew into the air, approaching the scene under the cover of night, landing directly beside Martha.

Even more fortunately, Jeanne Decker was, at that precise moment, engaging the Killer in a perilous skirmish, drawing his attention and allowing Alice’s stealth to proceed even more smoothly.

“It’s you again…”

Jeanne Decker spoke, stunned.

“We meet again, Saintess.”

Alice greeted Jeanne Decker, holding Martha. After all, her voice-changing techniques were a result of intensive training with the Duchess Liddell. The number of smooth vocal registers she could use was limited, so it was within expectations that Jeanne Decker would recognize her by her voice.

“You dare to show your face before me again!?”

Jeanne Decker’s expression suddenly darkened, and she glared at Alice, seething with uncontrollable rage.

Alice had anticipated this reaction, especially since she had used her witch abilities on Jeanne Decker that day.

“Don’t be so angry, Saintess. While I was at fault that day, you were the one who made the first move, weren’t you?”

Alice attempted a smile to ease the tension. “What’s more, I saved your life that day, and I’ve come to help you again now. How about we just put that small matter behind us?”

Using the fatal kiss on Jeanne Decker had not been her intention. Given the two times she had come to her rescue, this matter shouldn’t be unforgivable.

However, to Jeanne Decker, who harbored a misunderstanding, these words were clearly ill-timed, even subtly hinting at a certain…

‘Hussy’ vibe.

“Small matter? You actually called that… a small matter?”

Jeanne Decker’s eyes widened in shock.

Recalling the events of that day, the feeling of overwhelming shame and indignation surged through her once more. With her meticulous nature, she had always insisted on keeping matters separate.

Jeanne Decker was grateful for the two times this witch had saved her, and she was willing to repay that debt. However, it could not violate the principles and morals she adhered to.

Since this witch had presumptuously… that day, she simply couldn’t just laugh it off! Even more infuriating was the witch’s attitude, as if she carelessly dismissed everything that happened that day as a “small matter to be overlooked.” It was as if a skilled hunter, tired of their prey, would simply wave their hand and use flowery words to pretend nothing had happened.

To the fiery-tempered Jeanne Decker, this was nothing short of an insult!

“Saintess? What’s… what’s wrong?” Alice vaguely sensed that Jeanne Decker’s state was somewhat off.

“You…” Jeanne Decker turned her head away, no longer looking at Alice, only speaking through gritted teeth.

“Me?” Alice blinked.

“You wanton witch!” Jeanne Decker shrieked, furious. “Once I deal with this killer, you’ll be the next to die! Go and prepare your neck!”

“Ah, this…” Alice hadn’t anticipated such a reaction from Jeanne Decker. “Is it really that serious?”

These words undoubtedly added fuel to Jeanne Decker’s fury.

“Shut up!” Jeanne Decker roared.

Despite her anger, Jeanne Decker was still clear-headed enough to prioritize. The most important task at hand was dealing with the Killer. As for the score with this witch, she could settle it later.

However, if this witch continued to discuss the events of that day with such an indifferent attitude, Jeanne Decker couldn’t guarantee she would be able to restrain herself much longer.

Alice, meanwhile, was utterly bewildered.

‘Love? Is it that serious? Seriously, is it that serious? Although it sounds like I’m trying to justify myself, in all fairness, it was just a kiss, right? Is it really worth acting like she wants to fight me to the death? Can’t even two acts of saving her be enough to wipe the slate clean?’

‘Is Jeanne Decker’s inner world a bit too exaggerated? To be this innocent, Jeanne Decker, you… isn’t that a bit too much?’

Meanwhile, the Killer, relegated to the background in the distance, eyed the two women with suspicion.

‘The Saintess of the Church and the witch sent by the Tea Party… are they fighting? And it sounds like something happened between them after I escaped that day.’

‘No, now isn’t the time to think about this…’

He fixed his gaze on the materialized Alice, alarm bells ringing loudly in his mind. He remained still, not attacking during their argument, not out of chivalry, but because he genuinely dared not act rashly.

As an Abyssal cultist, he recognized Alice’s form as the “Demon” of the Sixth-Tier “Abyss.”

‘Not just a “Witch”? This person is actually dual-classed! And her “Warlock” class has reached the Mid-Tier!’

‘Same class, yet separated by the Mid-Tier threshold. I can’t win! It’s simply impossible to win!’

Alice now turned her attention to him, their gazes meeting. A hint of coldness entered Alice’s eyes.

Dual-class powers could not be used simultaneously; now transformed into a demon, she couldn’t use her witch abilities.

But even without foresight, being intimately familiar with the low-tier abilities of the “Abyss,” she was now certain that she could completely defeat this killer.

“Let’s put our dispute aside for now, Saintess. You should tend to this girl’s injuries first. As for this killer…” Alice carried Martha over to Jeanne Decker, pushing Martha into her arms. “He’s all mine!” she declared, her eyes locked on the Killer.
