Join the Server“Jeanne Decker? Are you… drunk?” she asked, her gaze fixed on Jeanne Decker.
Something was terribly wrong.
Alice Liddell could tell that Jeanne Decker’s state was profoundly off. The actions Jeanne Decker was taking were utterly unthinkable for the friend Alice Liddell knew.
Alice Liddell had been forced to down several gulps of strong liquor by Jeanne Decker, leaving her limbs weak, yet she still retained a sliver of rationality. Jeanne Decker, on the other hand, had taken only a single sip before immediately descending into a drunken frenzy. It was far too bizarre, no matter how one looked at it.
From Alice Liddell’s perspective, the girl who was once a Holy Knight offered no reply. Instead, she simply began to act on her own accord.
Jeanne Decker unfastened her armor, leaving only her cotton undershirt. She then slowly climbed onto the bed, inching closer to Alice Liddell.
“Wait, what are you doing?” At this point, Alice Liddell finally began to grasp Jeanne Decker’s intentions.
Yet, she clung to a sliver of hope, praying that Jeanne Decker was merely playing a joke on her.
Unfortunately, this hope was instantly shattered.
“Heh.” Jeanne Decker revealed a knowing smile, gradually leaning closer to Alice Liddell’s face.
The witch’s reaction ignited a sadistic urge within Jeanne Decker, a desire to tease her for the first time.
Believing that Alice Liddell had once taken advantage of her vulnerability, how could Jeanne Decker easily let go of this chance for revenge now that it presented itself?
Under normal circumstances, such an audacious thought would be impossible for her. Even a hint of it would be immediately snuffed out by her rationality.
But today, stripped of shame and self-control, she would simply succumb to the desires stirring deep within her.
The Mad Hatter had assured her that this method wouldn’t alter her core thoughts, only remove certain mental burdens; she would still be herself. If she felt something was amiss, she could request to revert at any time—though, of course, this was a classic trap of the devil’s rhetoric.
Everyone harbors a devil within, representing various hidden, unspeakable desires. Once the rational part of the mind that controls these desires is lost, they easily swell and dominate one’s words and actions, allowing a person to completely let loose.
In a way, moral shame and self-restraining rationality are crucial components of one’s personality. Once they are absent, one’s personality naturally undergoes a drastic change. By the time Jeanne Decker was stripped of that part, it was already too late. Unbound by restrictions, she had almost become another person entirely, and thus, it was impossible for her to wish to shackle herself again.
Indeed, the current Jeanne Decker, loyal to her desires, was more like a witch than any the Church preached about.
The nascent seed of desire that Alice Liddell had once planted in Jeanne Decker’s heart quickly took root and sprouted, growing wildly, once the restrictions were lifted.
Alice Liddell was utterly bewildered. For a moment, she even wondered if she was dreaming.
This wasn’t merely being drunk; it was as if someone entirely different had taken over!
“Hey, stop messing around! Can you please sober up?” Alice Liddell attempted to sit up, but her strength failed her. As Jeanne Decker drew nearer, she couldn’t help but shout, “Remember, Jeanne Decker! Remember your grand ambition! Remember your great love! Remember that a Holy Knight never falls!”
“Isn’t it a bit unromantic to bring up a Holy Knight’s vows right now?” Jeanne Decker remained unmoved.
Alice Liddell tried to raise her hand to unleash her witch abilities in resistance, but her hand trembled. Jeanne Decker casually swatted her wrist, then pressed her hand down.
“You started this, and now you want to resist? How unfortunate, you no longer have the power.” Jeanne Decker’s expression grew increasingly delighted. “Such a disobedient witch needs a good punishment!”
“Attacking someone who can’t resist, do you still consider yourself a Holy Knight like this!?” Alice Liddell’s voice trembled.
“I became like this—” Jeanne Decker pressed down on her, smiling as she reached for Alice Liddell’s collar, “—all because of you, you witch! Didn’t expect this, did you? Your day has come!”
‘What did I do to make you like this? And who’s more like a witch now!?’ Alice Liddell screamed internally.
“No, don’t come closer! Ahhhhhhh!” As Jeanne Decker’s actions grew increasingly brazen, Alice Liddell let out a desperate cry.
She had opened that door hoping to restore their past relationship with Jeanne Decker. However, if things continued this way, their relationship would undoubtedly spiral completely out of control!
‘That’s right, if I reveal myself now—’
Alice Liddell finally remembered this crucial detail.
The situation was urgent; she could no longer worry about timing. She shouted, “Jeanne Decker, I am actually—”
Before she could finish, Jeanne Decker suddenly produced a handkerchief from somewhere and stuffed it into Alice Liddell’s mouth.
“I almost forgot, you have that strange ability, like a vampire. I won’t let you take the initiative again this time,” Jeanne Decker said with a composed smile.
‘You’re too good at seizing the moment, aren’t you?!’ Alice Liddell was startled.
She struggled desperately, twisting her body, but under Jeanne Decker’s absolute suppression, she had no chance to resist.
Just then, Alice Liddell suddenly felt her witch’s intuition activate. The magic mirror in her handbag flashed in her mind—indicating that someone was sending a message to it through divination.
She instinctively turned her head to look at the handbag by the headboard.
“Hmm?” Jeanne Decker noticed her reaction and paused, puzzled. “Is there something there?”
‘If this witch doesn’t focus on me and continue resisting, my fun will diminish significantly.’
She extended her free hand into the handbag, fumbling around until she found the magic mirror.
“A mirror? Why is it covered in mist?” Jeanne Decker looked at the item in confusion, then at Alice Liddell. “You want this?”
Alice Liddell nodded vigorously. If she could make contact through divination now, with the Duchess Liddell or Queen Isola there, perhaps she could temporarily halt Jeanne Decker and then reveal her identity!
“Heh, no!” With a mischievous grin, Jeanne Decker tossed the magic mirror back into the handbag.
“Mmph!?” Alice Liddell’s eyes darted between Jeanne Decker and the handbag.
‘Treating the benefactor who painstakingly saved her three times like this, what kind of corrupt saintess is this?!’
‘Why did this person suddenly become like this? This is too damn bizarre!’ Alice Liddell thought.
It was only then that she finally remembered the item the Mad Hatter had given her earlier.
‘Someone you know, who willingly discarded their integrity.’ The image of the Mad Hatter pressing his hat down and grinning flashed in her mind.
‘Discarded integrity… Integrity… So, you were behind this?!’
‘In that case, the Mad Hatter was the mastermind all along; there’s no way he’ll come to save me!’
Alice Liddell despairingly realized she was beyond saving.
Ultimately, as Jeanne Decker tore open her witch’s dress, Alice Liddell had but one thought:
‘It’s over. From this point on, there’s truly no turning back.’
