Chapter 12: You—Just Casually Lying on My Bed?

Behind Mo Xiao, her slender black tail swayed lazily beneath the water. The Spirit Creation World did have gods—and even realms where gods resided.

But she knew very well that the Twin Gods didn’t live in the divine realm at all.

One roamed the world, controlling the Abyssal Rifts and constantly stirring up wars.

The other had split into countless incarnations, establishing faiths across the world to help humanity resist the Abyss’s invasion, relentlessly hunting down that war-crazed lunatic.

That was why she needed a “god-seeking” setting. If she couldn’t find the gods, her entire plan would be impossible to carry out.

“That may be true, but it’s still dangerous. And… I don’t have the courage to stand out like that.”

Bai Yuan frowned slightly as she considered it seriously. Her personality had always been on the softer side—more inclined to passively endure rather than take initiative.

Now she was being asked to take the first step… and she hesitated, unable to move forward.

“There’s still half a month. You can train a little. For example, right now you could stand up and shout, ‘Everyone, look at me!’ It would definitely help.”

Mo Xiao didn’t push her overly much. Letting her adapt step by step was the right approach.

“I—I’d never dare to do that! That’s basically social suicide!”

Bai Yuan buried her little head down. She understood everything Mo Xiao said—but fear still held her back from actually doing it.

“There is a difference. If you shout, people might not even look at you. That wouldn’t even qualify as social suicide.”

Mo Xiao rolled her eyes. With a “trashy master” like her, even achieving social death wasn’t that easy—at most, she’d just be awkwardly wishing for a hole to crawl into.

Thinking about the scene, Mo Xiao almost laughed. Though… that kind of master was also kind of cute.

Bai Yuan stared blankly at the empty seat beside her, too lazy to respond to her mischievous book spirit.

Sure enough, You hadn’t come this afternoon. The teacher hadn’t even asked about it—was she really just moving dorms?

When the dismissal bell rang, Bai Yuan got up and left the classroom. A light drizzle had begun outside.

It was actually nice that the heavy storm she had imagined didn’t come. Opening her umbrella, she stepped slowly into the rain.

Since she hadn’t seen You, she couldn’t treat her to a meal like she had planned. She’d have to find another opportunity later.

After dinner, she returned to the second floor of the dormitory. She glanced toward the room next door—had You really moved in?

But there was still no luggage in the neighboring room. For some reason, Bai Yuan felt a faint sense of unease.

Even if it wasn’t You, it was already evening—wasn’t it strange that no one had moved in yet?

She suppressed the inexplicable worry. Until she knew who her neighbor was, it didn’t really concern her.

“Trashy master, the lock on our dorm room is broken. Aren’t you going to come take a look?”

Mo Xiao popped out as soon as they reached the second floor. Staying in the Spirit Creation World all day had almost suffocated her.

When Bai Yuan had gone to check next door earlier, Mo Xiao had been about to open their door—only to notice that the lock had clearly been tampered with.

“No way!? I’ve never heard of thieves in the academy!”

Bai Yuan hurried over. When she saw the dented fingerprints on the doorknob, her heart sank halfway.

How could there be thieves in the academy dorms!?

It was her first time encountering a break-in. But the marks were far too obvious—no thief would make such a careless mistake.

Not thinking too much, she quickly opened the door and rushed inside to check if anything was missing.

The living room looked exactly the same as when she had left—nothing had been disturbed. So it wasn’t a thief after all.

“Wait! Idiot master, why are you running in like that? Stay right there!”

Mo Xiao quickly grabbed Bai Yuan, who was about to rush into the bedroom. Even if it wasn’t a thief, someone had definitely entered.

Until they confirmed whether that person had left, Mo Xiao couldn’t let her master rush in recklessly.

“What if they’re still inside? Do you think you can win in a fight? Let me check first.”

Mo Xiao was much stronger than Bai Yuan. With a slight tug, she pulled her back and stepped into the bedroom first.

Bai Yuan stumbled a little. By the time she steadied herself, she saw a small figure with a swaying dragon tail walking into the room.

A warm feeling slowly rose in her chest.

Had someone… just been concerned about her?

Was Mo Xiao worried about her safety?

Inside the bedroom, Mo Xiao entered cautiously at first. But when she saw the figure lying on the bed, she relaxed slightly.

As expected—it was her.

Something that hadn’t happened in her previous life had suddenly occurred. Most likely, it was related to You… or that person named Yilian.

So Mo Xiao had already made a rough guess—and now, seeing You lying on Bai Yuan’s bed confirmed it.

She stepped closer. This was her first time meeting You in the real world.

“Why is this girl sleeping in my master’s room? Did she go into the wrong room?”

Muttering to herself, she checked You’s breathing. It was so faint it was almost nonexistent—had she just fought someone?

Mo Xiao saw that You’s originally delicate, doll-like face was now covered in bruises. Even her exposed hands were mottled with blue and purple marks.

“Master, you can come in now. Your friend came to visit you.”

Finding nothing else, Mo Xiao called out. She had just searched You’s body—there was nothing on her.

Though… her skin was incredibly smooth and delicate. She couldn’t help but sneak an extra touch on You’s thigh.

“What friend?”

Bai Yuan muttered in confusion as she walked in—then nearly jumped when she saw the figure on the bed.

“Mo Xiao, did you do this?”

After calming down, she noticed the injuries and turned to the small figure standing nearby with arms crossed.

“How could that be? I’m not that violent. She’s so small—why would I hit her that hard?”

Mo Xiao rolled her golden eyes. An idiot master was still an idiot master.

“True… I didn’t hear any fighting earlier. So You went out, got into a fight, and then came to the wrong room and fell asleep on my bed?”

Bai Yuan quickly pieced together a simple explanation—but she still had no idea what to do with the unconscious girl sleeping soundly on her bed.

“Nope. She definitely came in on purpose. I bet she didn’t unpack her luggage and was too lazy to do so, so she just came here to lie down instead.”

Mo Xiao poked You’s soft cheek. It dented instantly—her face was incredibly soft and squishy.

Just who exactly was this girl?

No matter how much Mo Xiao thought about it, she couldn’t figure out her identity. The God of Destruction wouldn’t send someone to probe like this—if it were that being, it would’ve just come and crushed Bai Yuan directly.

A follower of the God of Creation seemed more likely. But then… who was Yilian? Another agent sent by that god?

“Stop poking her face! Can’t you see she’s covered in injuries?”

Bai Yuan brushed Mo Xiao’s restless hand aside, feeling a headache coming on as she looked at You lying on the bed.

There was only one bed in their room. If You was occupying it… did that mean she’d have to sleep on the floor tonight?

“Master, should I drag her away? Or wake her up and make her leave?”

Mo Xiao felt conflicted about You. She had helped Bai Yuan a lot today, but her identity still made her wary.

You was one of Bai Yuan’s few friends. If possible, Mo Xiao didn’t want to take action against her—so long as she had no intention of harming Bai Yuan.

“That wouldn’t be very nice… She looks unconscious. Let’s just take care of her for now. We’ll wait until she wakes up on her own.”

After thinking it over, Bai Yuan remembered that tomorrow was the weekend—she had time. Taking care of a friend for a bit wasn’t a problem.
