Join the Server“Finally found you. Bai Yuan, surrender quietly and come with us to receive punishment!”
The leading male student stepped out from the forest and shouted angrily at her.
Bai Yuan blinked innocently from behind Mo Xiao. She had no idea what was going on—why were these Discipline Committee members suddenly hunting her down?
She had always kept a low profile and hardly caused any trouble. What nonsense were they talking about?
Mo Xiao was just as confused. Nothing like this had happened in her previous life.
Her rebirth had clearly disrupted the original timeline—unexpected events could now occur at any moment.
Many things she remembered might no longer unfold the same way. Frowning, Mo Xiao felt a growing sense of annoyance.
Having prior knowledge would’ve made things easier. Now, it was practically like starting from scratch.
“Um… did I do something? Why do I have to go with you for punishment?”
Bai Yuan asked softly, a hint of dissatisfaction in her voice. To her, it sounded like they were trying to pin a baseless accusation on her.
“A student reported that you violently assaulted another student. The evidence is conclusive. If you resist, we will forcibly—”
“Pfft—HAHAHA!”
Before he could finish, Mo Xiao burst out laughing.
Bai Yuan? That tiny, frail girl beating someone up? That was just too ridiculous.
“Why are you laughing? I think I really did hit someone…”
Instead of laughing, Bai Yuan frowned and started recalling seriously.
“Don’t tell me you mean bumping into You yesterday counts as assault?”
“Doesn’t it? What if someone saw it and misunderstood, then reported me?”
Bai Yuan blinked her wide, innocent eyes. It seemed plausible to her.
She had pinned You against a wall—if seen from a third-person perspective, it could definitely look like violence.
“Don’t be dumb. There wasn’t anyone nearby that day. You think I wouldn’t know if there was?”
Mo Xiao rolled her eyes. Her master was way too naïve—this was obviously a setup.
“Hey! Don’t ignore us and chat among yourselves! If you don’t come with us, we’ll use force!”
The leading student finally snapped. Not only had the little one interrupted him, but the two of them were now casually chatting like he didn’t exist.
This was beyond tolerable.
“Senior, there must be some misunderstanding. Could you let us finish collecting spirit materials first, then we’ll go with you?”
Bai Yuan didn’t want to clash with upperclassmen—especially Discipline Committee members, who held significant authority. Offending them could bring endless trouble.
“Hmph! So you’re planning to deny everything and run? Fine—attack!”
With a wave of his hand, a massive white tiger materialized beside him—three meters tall and ten meters long.
Its steel-like tail swept through the air, snapping trees in half. Razor-sharp claws sank into the ground, and its gleaming fangs were terrifying.
Behind him, the other two students also summoned their book spirits—a green-robed swordsman and a petite black-robed magic apprentice.
“Mo Xiao, let’s run… we can’t win this. Their ranks are higher than yours…”
Bai Yuan knew her book spirit had great potential—but right now, her level was far too low to face three opponents.
“They’re just trash. Looking at them annoys me. Come at me together!”
Mo Xiao raised one small hand and beckoned with a finger, her golden eyes filled with disdain as she faced the three approaching spirits. A mocking smile curved her lips.
With her other hand, she pushed Bai Yuan back slightly.
As long as she stood here, no one—spirit or summoner—would get anywhere near her master.
The leader, Dole, looked grim. He had originally planned to trick Bai Yuan into leaving quietly, but it hadn’t worked.
Now even intimidation had failed—and he had no desire to fight personally.
This whole matter was already shady. If word got out in the academy, their reputation as Discipline Committee members would be ruined.
His orders were simply to stop Bai Yuan from collecting materials. This wasn’t supposed to escalate.
Caught in a dilemma, Dole clenched his teeth.
Fine—he’d go all in.
“White Tiger, attack!”
ROAR!
The tiger charged, raising a massive claw toward Mo Xiao.
In her golden eyes, the enormous body of the tiger reflected—along with a flash of sword light and a blazing red fireball from the other two.
A clock pattern appeared within her pupils.
The hands moved.
Time… stopped.
Her small figure vanished from in front of Bai Yuan.
Since her opponents were merely book spirits, there was no need to hold back.
A dark sword appeared in her hand—1.3 meters long, three fingers wide.
Her black-clad figure flashed past the tiger’s head, then slashed a streak of dark sword energy toward the green-robed swordsman.
In the next instant, she pivoted smoothly and drove the blade straight into the magic apprentice’s chest.
Releasing the sword, she leapt back, landing in front of Bai Yuan.
The moment her feet touched the ground—
Time resumed.
“W-what just happened?!”
Bai Yuan stared in horror as the charging tiger’s head slid cleanly off and hit the ground.
The other attacks vanished mid-air.
The swordsman was split in two.
The apprentice had a dissolving dark sword embedded in his chest.
“Pfft—?! How is this possible… what are you?!”
Dole coughed up blood. The destruction of his spirit caused a severe backlash—his head felt like it was splitting apart.
“Hmph. Trash is still trash. You couldn’t even take one strike. If you don’t get lost, do you want to die here?”
Mo Xiao crossed her arms, a cold glint flashing in her vertical golden pupils.
If they insisted on staying, she wouldn’t hesitate to kill them all. A few students disappearing in a secret realm wasn’t unusual.
Before Dole could respond, one of his terrified subordinates had already mentally repeated “exit” three times and vanished from the realm.
“You… just wait. Someone will deal with you after we get out. Watch yourselves!”
Unable to save face, Dole left behind a harsh warning before fleeing in embarrassment.
“Hmph. Bunch of idiots.”
Mo Xiao snorted, though her expression remained serious.
There had to be a reason they came after them.
With a bit of thought, she could guess.
You was a possibility—but it wasn’t necessary for her to do this.
Which meant… the mastermind was most likely Yilian.
The ink bottle back then was meant to prevent her birth.
Now, sending people here was meant to stop her growth.
There was no doubt—Yilian was an agent of the Twin Gods.
And such underhanded tactics could only belong to the God of Creation.
The God of Destruction wouldn’t bother with schemes—she’d simply crush someone outright.
“Mo Xiao… was that really okay? Won’t they block us tonight after we leave?”
Bai Yuan finally snapped out of it, her face pale with worry.
Even though the Discipline Committee had retreated for now, they would inevitably run into them again at the academy.
If they got targeted…
She might not even make it back to her dorm tonight.
