Chapter 30: Lift Your Skirt Yourself

“Wuu… fine, I get it. I’ll just go work as someone else’s maid to earn money, okay?”

Mo Xiao wasn’t intimidated at all. Even when Bai Yuan tried to look fierce, her cute little face still looked soft and harmless—there wasn’t a hint of real menace.

“No way! My book spirit isn’t allowed to be anyone else’s maid. If you’re going to be one, then you’ll be my maid!”

Bai Yuan firmly rejected the idea, patting Mo Xiao’s slightly chubby cheeks. There was no way her book spirit would go serve someone else.

“Alright then, I’ll be Master’s maid. You’re not mad anymore, right?”

Mo Xiao didn’t mind. She had basically been taking care of Bai Yuan like a caretaker for quite a while already—more professional than any maid.

The real reason she gave in so quickly was because Bai Yuan’s threat had hit a weak spot.

If she couldn’t sleep on the bed anymore… wouldn’t that mean she’d have to watch Bai Yuan sleep together with You?

…Wait, that didn’t sound right. You should be sleeping on the floor.

Either way, Mo Xiao wanted to sleep with Bai Yuan, so she agreed without hesitation.

Three hundred feather coins? Not a big deal.

“Hmph! Mad? Of course I’m mad! If I could beat you, I’d spank you hard right now. You didn’t say anything and just poured out my spirit ink!”

The more Bai Yuan thought about it, the angrier she became.

That custom-made ink had cost her three hundred feather coins—she had worked an entire month to save up for it, all while enduring scolding from that overweight shopkeeper.

The more she thought about it, the angrier she got.

“Then go ahead and hit me. I don’t mind.”

Mo Xiao casually lay face-down on the soft bed. Her body was covered in dragon scales—if Bai Yuan actually hit her, it would probably hurt Bai Yuan’s hand more.

“Mo Xiao… are you serious? If I really hit you, you’re not allowed to hit me back.”

Bai Yuan hesitated, but her gaze drifted toward the little dragon’s slightly raised backside, her hands already itching.

Ever since she met Mo Xiao, she had wanted to teach this brat a lesson—but she was afraid of getting beaten instead.

“Go ahead. With your strength, Master, it won’t hurt at all. It’ll feel more like a massage—useless master~”

Even now, Mo Xiao kept provoking her, completely lacking any sincerity despite supposedly apologizing.

“You really never learn, do you? Fine, tonight I’ll properly teach you a lesson!”

Bai Yuan was genuinely annoyed now. Even lying there obediently, this little brat was still so arrogant—it made her face flush red with anger.

“Hmph, I know what you’re thinking. You’re not allowed to use your dragon scales to block it—otherwise it doesn’t count. I won’t forgive you.”

Bai Yuan wasn’t stupid. One look at that smug expression and she knew what Mo Xiao was planning.

“I wasn’t planning to use them. Go ahead—your little hands won’t hurt me anyway. After all, you’re just a useless master~ hehe~”

Mo Xiao’s teasing only made Bai Yuan angrier.

Bai Yuan lowered her gaze, said nothing, and walked to the edge of the bed, patting her lap as a signal.

“You want me to lie across your lap? How scary~”

Though she spoke like that, Mo Xiao obediently moved and lay across Bai Yuan’s soft thighs.

“Move forward a bit. Raise your hips.”

Bai Yuan’s face turned slightly red as she adjusted Mo Xiao’s position. Somehow, what was supposed to be a punishment now felt a bit awkward, even embarrassing.

“Hmph…”

Mo Xiao grumbled but shifted forward anyway, her small body pressing against Bai Yuan’s thighs.

Why did this feel a little embarrassing…?

She lifted her hips slightly, feeling a bit strange.

She was only doing this to calm Bai Yuan down—she definitely wasn’t thinking about anything weird.

“…Lift your skirt yourself.”

Bai Yuan turned her flushed face aside and muttered softly, her words coming out a bit awkwardly.

She just wanted to confirm that Mo Xiao wasn’t using her scales—nothing else.

“Huh? Master, are you some kind of pervert? You want me to lift it? Hmph…”

Mo Xiao’s face instantly turned bright red as she buried it into the blanket.

“I’m not doing it! You’re the pervert, useless master! If anyone’s lifting it, you do it yourself!”

She clutched Bai Yuan’s skirt tightly, refusing no matter what.

There was no way Bai Yuan—who only had the nerve to talk—would actually dare to do it.

“I’m not a pervert! I just want to make sure you’re not using scales—I’m not interested in that at all!”

“…Mm.”

“Don’t make weird noises! I—I’m just putting my hand there, I haven’t even hit you yet!”

Since Mo Xiao refused, Bai Yuan didn’t insist. She wasn’t that kind of person, so she decided to just proceed.

But the moment her hand rested on Mo Xiao, she got flustered by the reaction.

“Hmph… I didn’t make a weird noise. It just felt uncomfortable. If you’re going to hit me, hurry up—or I might change my mind, useless master!”

Mo Xiao shut her mouth tightly. That earlier sound had just been an accident.

This body… had never been touched like that before, so she simply wasn’t used to it.

Bai Yuan took a few deep breaths, still irritated. She focused her gaze.

Through the thin skirt, the outline was faint but visible—small, yet clearly rounded.

The hem of the skirt rested mid-thigh, and when Mo Xiao raised herself slightly, it shifted just enough to create a subtle gap.

Bai Yuan couldn’t help but feel a bit curious.

Was she still wearing those black lace undergarments from before…?

But her curiosity was quickly suppressed by embarrassment. If she really lifted it, she would be acting like a pervert—and she refused to admit that.

“Hurry up! Are you too scared to hit me? Or just can’t bear to?”

Now it was Mo Xiao who felt embarrassed.

She had been holding that position for so long, and Bai Yuan still hadn’t done anything. It made her feel nervous… and oddly expectant… but mostly just embarrassed.

Especially with the cool air brushing against her—it gave her a strange sense of exposure.

Her heart pounded uncontrollably.

“What’s there to be proud of, you little dragon!”

Smack! Smack! Smack!

“Mm—ah! Ah—”

Bai Yuan shut her eyes tightly, raising her hand and bringing it down three times before stopping, flustered.

“Why are you making those sounds?! That’s… that’s too weird! Don’t make noises!”

Her face burned as she spoke. Every time she hit, Mo Xiao reacted—it made the whole situation feel awkward.

Mo Xiao didn’t respond, her face buried in the blanket, but she could still feel the warmth lingering.

She shifted slightly.

It didn’t hurt at all—Bai Yuan had hit far too lightly.

But it was embarrassing.

Especially when the movement of the skirt stirred faint air, brushing against her skin in a way that made her uneasy.

When Bai Yuan got no response, she opened her eyes and looked over—only to see Mo Xiao’s ears completely red, even redder than a ripe apple.

“…F-fine. I won’t hit you anymore. I guess I’ll forgive you this time.”

Bai Yuan hesitated, then finally lowered her hand.

This little dragon… wasn’t as shameless as she seemed.

Even though she had poured out the spirit ink, her attitude now wasn’t completely unacceptable.

Bai Yuan decided not to pursue it further.
