Chapter 3: The Disgrace of the NTR World… Ahem, I Mean, the Paragon!

Splat—

Blood gushed from her finger.

Trembling, she raised her hand and pressed her bloody fingerprint firmly onto the very bottom of the scroll!

The moment her print was stamped, Su Qingyan’s tears finally broke through, flooding down her face, mixing with the mud and blood and smearing across her entire visage.

“As long as Yueluo can live… as long as she can be safe…”

She gritted her teeth so hard her jaw ached, a mournful, beast-like whimper escaping her throat.

Her hands clawed at the ground, fingernails bending backward, blood welling up from the torn nail beds.

“I, Su Qingyan, am willing to abide by this contract… for all of eternity, I shall never betray…”

As the last word left her lips, it was as if every last ounce of strength had been drained from her.

She collapsed onto the floor like a heap of mud.

The golden scroll blazed with intense light, transforming into a streak of radiance that instantly vanished into Su Qingyan’s brow, leaving behind a faint, golden s*ave mark.

「Holy crap!

She actually signed it!

Without even reading the terms?!」

Seated in the master’s chair, Bai Yue maintained the composure of an old dog on the surface, but inside, she was a chaotic mess, deeply shaken by the sheer desperation in Su Qingyan’s actions.

「This is pure love in action… willing to plunge herself into the abyss of hell just to push her beloved back into the light.

So moving!

Wuwuwu, Sister Su, don’t you worry.

That contract is just a formality.

From now on, you’re under my protection!」

“Good.”

Bai Yue suppressed the turmoil within, rising slowly to her feet.

She looked down at the girl on the floor.

Though her gaze remained cool, it had lost some of the murderous edge from moments before.

“Now that you are my dog, stop looking so half-dead and pitiful.

You’re embarrassing the Du Xian Sect.”

She waved her hand dismissively.

Clink—

A delicate white jade porcelain bottle rolled to a stop before Su Qingyan.

“This is a Tier 2 Upper-Grade ‘Bone-Mending Blood-Fusing Pill.’

Take it, then go to the pond in the back courtyard and wash all that mud off yourself.”

Bai Yue turned her back, clasping her hands behind her, her tone icy but laced with an indisputable authority.

“You have one incense stick’s worth of time.”

“After that, you will accompany me to the Qinghe City Lord’s mansion.”

“This lady wants to see just who gave the petty tyrant of this backwater town the nerve to lay a hand on the prey I’ve set my sights on!”

Su Qingyan stared blankly at the white jade bottle before her.

A Tier 2 Upper-Grade pill?

Such a precious healing elixir was a rare treasure in Qinghe City.

Even the Xiao family at its peak could only boast a few.

And this lofty Immortal Bai had just tossed it to her like so much trash?

With difficulty, she lifted her head, gazing at Bai Yue’s proud, solitary back.

In that moment, a strange, indescribable emotion stirred in Su Qingyan’s hollow, despairing heart.

Could Yueluo truly be saved?

Even if the price was her own eternal fall into the abyss of darkness.

“Yes… Master…”

Su Qingyan reached out with trembling hands, grasping the porcelain bottle, and pressed her forehead deep against the cold bluestone floor.

This time, her voice, though still hoarse, held less despair and more of a dead, obedient stillness.

[Ding!

Detected host’s actions have caused a significant psychological impact on the Heaven’s Chosen Maiden’s childhood friend, Su Qingyan.]

[Su Qingyan’s favorability toward you has increased.

Admiration +10!]

Hearing the weak “Master” from behind her, along with the system’s notification, Bai Yue, who had stepped behind a folding screen, nearly burst out laughing.

「Hehehe!

Step one, a resounding success!」

「Did you see that, System?

I’ve taken the Heaven’s Chosen Maiden’s childhood sweetheart as my contracted attendant!

I am so wicked!

So evil!

I am the disgrace of the NTR world… ahem, I mean, the paragon!」

She was busy hamming it up in her own mind.

Meanwhile, on the system panel in her consciousness, the [Love-Interest Disruption Progress] value sat steady at 50%, with no signs of alarm.

Perfectly exploiting the bug!

An incense stick’s worth of time passed in the blink of an eye.

When Su Qingyan appeared before Bai Yue again, she was already wearing the gray Daoist robe of an outer disciple of the Du Xian Sect.

Though her face remained as pale as paper, the external injuries had mostly healed under the pill’s effects.

Her previously disheveled hair was now simply tied back, revealing a face that was delicate and pure, yet utterly frozen with frost.

It was the numbness of a heart that had already died.

She stood quietly outside the door, her head bowed slightly, like a soulless marionette.

Bai Yue pushed the door open, her gaze sweeping over Su Qingyan.

「Hmm, she cleans up quite nicely.

No wonder she’s a perfect match for the Heaven’s Chosen Maiden.」

She nodded inwardly, though outwardly, she let out a cold snort.

“Not entirely useless, I suppose.”

Bai Yue strode out of her residence, her cool gaze fixed on the most magnificent structure in the center of Qinghe City—the City Lord’s mansion.

“Let’s go.”

Bai Yue flicked her wrist.

A longsword, its entire body radiating an icy blue light, materialized in her hand.

Its sword aura was bone-chilling, shooting straight into the heavens!

“Let’s go show this Qinghe City what my rules are.”

***

At the same time.

Qinghe City, the City Lord’s mansion.

Lanterns and decorations were hung everywhere, red carpets laid out across the ground.

Giant red double-happiness characters adorned every door and window.

Carriages and horses crowded the entrance; almost every prominent figure in Qinghe City had arrived.

In the center of the main hall.

A fat man in bright red wedding attire, his face covered in fleshy lumps and his eyes gleaming with a mixture of idiocy and cruelty, drooled as he waved a spiked leather whip excitedly.

“Hehehe… hit… Father said… today, got new wife… can hit…”

The stupid, fat man drooled, letting out a bone-chilling giggle.

In the corner of the hall,

the elders of the Xiao family surrounded the City Lord, bowing and scraping with sycophantic smiles.

“Rest assured, my Lord City Lord.

Once the auspicious hour arrives, even if that Xiao Yueluo is dead, we will have her corpse carried in here to bow before your son!”

The Grand Elder of the Xiao family stroked his beard, grinning like a fawning, tail-wagging old dog.

Seated in the place of honor, City Lord Wang Batian raised his teacup, casually skimming the floating leaves with the lid, and let out a cold laugh.

“Elder Xiao, your efficiency is most reassuring to me.

As long as my son is happy today, the mining rights to that red iron mine west of the city will be delivered to your Xiao family residence tomorrow.”

“Thank you, my Lord City Lord!

Thank you!”

The Grand Elder was so thrilled he nearly collapsed to his knees, repeatedly cupping his hands in gratitude.

“For Xiao Yueluo to marry into your household, it is a blessing earned over eight lifetimes!

Our entire Xiao family is deeply grateful for your lordship’s favor!”

The Grand Elder was ecstatic.

Trading a useless, orphaned girl for a valuable mine—this deal was an absolute steal!

As for the girl’s fate?

Before absolute profit, it was worth less than nothing!

In a side room at the rear of the mansion

Xiao Yueluo, bound hand and foot, forcibly dressed in a wedding gown, lay limp and helpless on the cold, blue brick floor.
