Join the ServerThree days after Lady Demonic God received the invitation,
Early in the morning,
At the South Gate of the Holy Royal Palace,
Eager to finally see her friend again, Xiamiya arrived at the designated South Gate bright and early. She had changed into a casual black summer skirt, completely ignoring the strange looks from the Star Cross Knights soldiers behind her.
She bounced excitedly on the spot, looking left and right, eagerly awaiting Miss Mitis’s arrival.
****
Meanwhile, Youka stood respectfully and elegantly behind the sakura-haired maiden. She wore the exquisite maid uniform she had personally crafted, and carried a handbag filled with Xiamiya’s daily necessities.
However, unlike before,
Youka now wore a white veil, concealing her exceptionally beautiful face.
This was, naturally, Xiamiya’s request. Considering Youka’s captivating appearance, Xiamiya had instructed her to wear a disguise to avoid any potential trouble.
Besides, Xiamiya simply disliked others constantly staring at her Youka. It always made her feel uncomfortable.
Youka, of course, agreed with Xiamiya’s request.
Avoiding trouble and working efficiently had always been Youka’s guiding principles.

Catching a glimpse of her overly excited mistress, the doll-like maiden spoke with a complex heart, offering a reminder:
“Mistress, please mind your image. You will lose points if you tarnish Lady Demonic God’s reputation.”
“Ah?!”
At her words, Xiamiya, who had been swaying her head back and forth, suddenly startled. She quickly composed her restless expression.
“S-sorry.”
Under Youka’s reminder, Xiamiya calmed down slightly. Yet, the excitement and anticipation in her rainbow-colored eyes remained unmistakable.

And so, after Xiamiya had waited excitedly for nearly an hour,
A luxurious carriage pulled by four magnificent steeds slowly approached the North Gate of the Holy Royal Palace.
The carriage wheels rolled softly over the gravel path, emitting a rhythmic, soothing sound that drew the attention of everyone present.
As the carriage came to a halt, the door opened elegantly. Stepping out was a young woman with curly, aquamarine hair—none other than Xiamiya’s good friend, Miss Mitis, the Countess.
Her curls cascaded over her shoulders, swaying gently with her movements, exuding an effortless grace. Her eyes were a deep crimson, and a small black mole at the corner of one eye added a touch of mystery and unique charm.
Compared to the blue-haired girl Xiamiya remembered, Mitis now appeared more mature and captivating.
As she walked towards Xiamiya, the air in the courtyard seemed to solidify, all eyes fixed on the beautiful noblewoman. Mitis smiled, her expression warm and affectionate—a closeness unique to childhood friends reunited after many years.
She elegantly raised her hand and gave a gentle wave, conveying her joy at their long-awaited reunion.
“Long time no see, Xiamiya!”
“Mitis, long time no see!”
In the next moment,
The two maidens eagerly clasped hands, excitedly hopping up and down on the spot.
“It’s been a year, Xiamiya! Wow, you seem even cuter now~”
Mitis exclaimed excitedly, habitually pinching Xiamiya’s cheek.
“Mmph, don’t p-pinch me…”
Xiamiya protested softly.
Observing their intimate interaction, both the surrounding soldiers and Mitis’s own attendants exchanged peculiar glances.
Noticing these strange looks, Mitis glared unhappily at the soldiers and servants.
“How rude,” she muttered, before pulling Xiamiya’s hand and heading towards the carriage.
“Let’s go, Xiamiya. We can chat on the way.”
“Mhm.”
Lady Demonic God nodded rather meekly, then followed Mitis, preparing to board the carriage.
Naturally, Youka, who had been following Xiamiya, also moved to follow them.
However,
As soon as she took a step, Mitis voiced her confusion.
“Is this your maid, Xiamiya?”
“Yes, that’s Youka.”
“Oh, I see.”
Mitis nodded, then turned to Youka with an apologetic expression. “My apologies, Miss Maid, but your mistress and I have some private matters to discuss. Would you mind taking the carriage behind us?”
“…”
Hearing this, Youka paused slightly, turning her gaze to Xiamiya.
Unfortunately,
Lady Demonic God’s thoughts seemed to align with Mitis’s.
“Youka, please take the carriage behind us for now.”
Upon hearing these words,
The usually indifferent and calm doll-like maiden’s eyes fleetingly showed a rare hint of displeasure.
She glanced at the other carriage behind them, and at the two maids standing outside it, gesturing an invitation. Youka narrowed her eyes thoughtfully.
Moments later,
Youka nodded respectfully.
“Understood, Your Highness Xiamiya.”
Soon,
With Xiamiya and Youka having boarded their respective carriages, the convoy, escorted by dozens of soldiers, departed from the South Gate of the Holy Royal Palace, heading towards the Ashir family’s territory.
****
Inside the carriage,
Looking out at the bustling streets, Xiamiya couldn’t help but exclaim, “Wow, it feels like so much has changed! This commercial street wasn’t here before.”
“Indeed,” Mitis said with a light chuckle, handing Xiamiya some prepared sweets. “This area has developed quite rapidly over the past year.”
“It’s been a year, and your demeanor seems to have changed, too.”
“Hm? Has it?”
“Of course! In the past, when you stood at the Holy Royal Palace gate and were watched by those Star Cross Knights soldiers, you would tremble. Today, though, you seem perfectly calm.”
“Ah? R-really?”
Lady Demonic God scratched the back of her head rather innocently.
‘Well, I’ve been stared at by Calamity Demons all day, every day, for the past year, haven’t I? Compared to their gazes, what are these stares?’
Of course, Xiamiya couldn’t voice these thoughts. She simply chuckled and explained, “Maybe I’ve just gotten used to it?”
“Used to it? Hehe, perhaps it’s because your courage grew quite a bit after your training in the Holy Sanctuary?”
“Uh, I suppose so.”
“Hey, Xiamiya, speaking of which, what kind of place is the Holy Sanctuary? I’ve heard it’s very rigid, with lots of rules. Is that true?”
“Yeah, it really is. So many trivial rules. Can’t do this, can’t do that.”
“Oh, right, Xiamiya, have you met the High Priest?”
“The High Priest?”
“Mm-hm.”
Mitis nodded excitedly, her crimson eyes overflowing with anticipation. After all, within Ophelia, the High Priest, who managed all church affairs, was a legendary figure.
They were not only the highest spiritual ruler of the church but also possessed Heavenly Realm-level power, no weaker than a peak Holy King. Furthermore, they were one of the few individuals in the current world who wielded divine magic.
Such a powerful and mysterious guardian naturally piqued the intense curiosity of the common people. Mitis was no exception.
“What kind of person is the High Priest?”
…
Xiamiya, however, didn’t notice any of this. Faced with her friend’s eager gaze, our Lady Demonic God merely scratched the back of her head, looking a little troubled.
For a moment,
Xiamiya’s mind couldn’t help but conjure the image of a certain eccentric old man who constantly fed her candy, asking her to call him “Grandpa”… a rather unconventional figure, yet exceptionally respectful towards Youka.
…
After a moment of hesitation, Lady Demonic God gave an innocent laugh.
“The High Priest? Uh… I haven’t met someone of that caliber. I-I don’t really know much about them. Sorry about that…”
“Ah, is that so… It’s fine, it’s fine.”
Though a little disappointed, Mitis shook her head quite meekly. “It’s normal, after all. Someone like the High Priest isn’t someone you can just meet whenever you wish.”
“Mhm.”
“Oh, right, Xiamiya. There’s one more thing I’m quite curious about.”
“Hm? What is it?”
“It’s the Goddess’s trial in the Holy Sanctuary’s core area, the ‘Corridor of Fate’.”
As she spoke,
Mitis, seated in the carriage, uncharacteristically adopted a serious expression, meeting Xiamiya’s gaze earnestly.
“Isn’t that trial incredibly difficult? Emperor Shukaros took a full two years to complete it. Princess Helibea also took a year and a half, it seems… yet you only took two days. How did you manage that? Or rather… Xiamiya, did you actually not participate in the test at all? Did you not even enter that ‘Corridor of Fate’?”
It was a simple inquiry.
But,
A faint glimmer of anticipation subtly shone in Mitis’s eyes.
When faced with this question, Xiamiya paused, then gave a very honest answer.
“I did enter.”
“But the Corridor of Fate is said to take at least half a year to complete once you enter, isn’t it? Why did you pass in just two days? Did… did those Holy Knights secretly help you?”
Mitis asked, testing the waters.
“No,” Xiamiya shook her head without a second thought.
“Then, how did you…?”
“Honestly, I don’t understand it either.”
“Huh?”
Glancing out the window, Xiamiya recalled the events with a somewhat complex expression, mumbling, “I just kept walking straight… walked for two days, and somehow I passed that corridor. There were no legendary heroic spirits to block me, and the corridor wasn’t like a maze… Enmm, how do I put it? I felt the assessment wasn’t difficult at all…”
“Uh… is that so…?”
Hearing this, Mitis’s expression gradually sank.
“If that’s the case… then it’s truly a shame,” Mitis whispered, her words laden with deeper meaning.
