Join the ServerWe three rose in perfect unison, silent, and began walking towards the front desk.
In that instant, I felt a peculiar kinship, like we were a trio of seasoned street enforcers.
Dragon Brother strode silently ahead, while Old Shen kept pace beside me. I lowered my gaze, watching Dragon Brother’s back. Long ago, I had followed a back far broader than hers—a man who was somewhat lackadaisical, with a shock of white hair, yet whose spine remained ramrod straight.
The Pimple Face guy sneered, still clutching Xiao Hua’s arm. Xiao Hua, who had been struggling, merely glanced up timidly when she saw us approach, ceasing her resistance.
Noticing the three of us, the Pimple Face guy darted a sidelong glance. The yellow-haired guy, arms crossed, wore a smirk that was not quite a smile. Both of them had been staring at me, likely perceiving me as merely one man leading two young girls, barely 150 centimeters tall.
Pimple Face tightened his grip on Xiao Hua’s arm and asked with a laugh, “What’s this, playing the hero?”
I nodded. “Let go of her hand, or I’ll call the police. There are cameras here.”
The yellow-haired guy spat in my direction, then chuckled. “F*ck, I dare you to call the police. Go on, try it! You think I don’t have connections at the station, kid?”
I remained silent, watching their grinning faces. A thought, whose origin I couldn’t recall, surfaced in my mind: ‘In a person’s life, at least ninety percent of the people they encounter are idiots. Cherish the remaining ten percent who aren’t.’
I detest fighting, absolutely loathe it. Most matters can be resolved verbally, and that’s usually my approach. However, there’s one type of person I’m utterly helpless against: the idiots. This means I’m helpless against ninety percent of the people I meet in life, which, upon reflection, is a truly terrifying statistic.
Old Shen stood silently beside me. As I rolled up my sleeves, I scanned the area, checking if the cameras could reach this spot. It seemed they could. I decided to call the police first, and once they arrived, I’d say my friend was harassed by hooligans, and we stepped in. Then I’d improvise. Regardless, we weren’t in the wrong.
Dragon Brother had been observing them with a casual air for a while, but it was clear her height, perhaps just over 150 centimeters, was being spectacularly ignored by these men.
Dragon Brother looked at the hand gripping Xiao Hua’s arm. “Enjoying the feel?”
Pimple Face lowered his head, as if only just noticing Dragon Brother. He grinned at me. “You’ve got some nerve, bringing a little girl to play the hero. Is this your daughter?”
The yellow-haired guy burst into laughter, arms still crossed.
Pimple Face took two steps closer to me. Because her arm was still held, Xiao Hua stumbled along with him. Pimple Face leaned in, still grinning. “Your daughter’s pretty rebellious, huh? Bleached hair, pretending to be a tough guy?”
I smiled, intensifying my tone. “Let go of her hand.”
Pimple Face scoffed, his gaze drifting lazily up and down my form. “What if I don’t?”
I half-clenched my fist, staring at his face. Dragon Brother hadn’t been working at this internet cafe for long, and I wasn’t sure if causing a scene would be good for her. I was deliberating whether to throw a punch when the yellow-haired guy, after observing Dragon Brother for a moment, hesitated and spoke to Pimple Face. “That white-haired girl is really rare… I heard from Mazi’s crew a while back that they ran into one who trashed a whole pool hall. It caused quite a stir…”
Pimple Face exaggeratedly lowered his head, looking at Dragon Brother. Dragon Brother looked up at him in return. Pimple Face burst out laughing. “It can’t be *her*, can it?”
The yellow-haired guy hesitated, then joined in the laughter. Pimple Face leaned his grinning face close to Dragon Brother’s, lowering his head. “Little girl, wanna go out with big brother for some spicy drinks? I’ll make sure you have a great time tonight. After that, no one in this area will dare mess with you. What do you say?”
Old Shen’s expression was one of exasperation.
I had been contemplating whether to throw a punch, but seeing this, it seemed unnecessary.
Dragon Brother stood before me, her small, white-haired head tilted back as she looked at him.
“Look at this little girl… Are you mute, you f*cking brat? Big brother’s talking to you…”
Pimple Face bent down with a smirk, reaching out to touch Dragon Brother’s head.
Dragon Brother spoke softly. “Old Lu, help me clean up later.”
Before I could stop her, her white hair swirled.
Boom—
Dragon Brother’s kick sent Pimple Face flying backward, stumbling over ten steps until he crashed into the internet cafe’s front desk. Several boxes of drinks toppled with a thunderous clatter, sending ice tea and cola rolling across the floor.
A chorus of gasps erupted in the internet cafe. I turned my head. Some people had noticed the conflict earlier but had merely watched. Now, seeing Dragon Brother’s kick, several university students immediately stood up, hesitantly moving to intervene. Old Shen waved them off dismissively. “Go back to your games. Everything’s fine!”
Pimple Face was utterly stunned by the kick, sprawled on his back in front of the counter, taking a long moment to recover. Dragon Brother walked slowly over, then swung her arm and delivered another resounding slap. Pimple Face’s head slammed against the floor, and half his face instantly swelled.
Still dazed, Pimple Face instinctively curled into a ball, clutching his head. As Dragon Brother delivered another stomp, he let out a series of pig-like shrieks. “F*ck! He’s killing me! Goddammit, he’s killing me!”
I had been wondering if I should add a few kicks myself, but now it looked like I’d have to break up the fight. Just as I was about to step forward and pull Dragon Brother away, the yellow-haired guy reacted, charging forward and wrapping his arms around Dragon Brother’s body, trying to drag her back. Before I could even react, I saw a pale, slender hand shoot out from under the yellow-haired guy’s armpit.
He instantly lost his balance, and Dragon Brother hoisted him onto her back. With an over-the-shoulder throw, he spun rapidly through the air, propelled by her arm, before smashing into the floor, exploding more ice tea bottles.
Seeing the sheer mess, I yelled, “Dragon Brother! That’s enough! Stop!”
Dragon Brother turned to me with an impatient glance, then took two steps back. She pointed a casual finger at the yellow-haired guy’s nose. “You just never learn, do you?”
I stood, hands on my hips, helplessly watching the drinks spread across the floor.
Xiao Hua huddled in a corner by the bar, peeking out, her small head utterly bewildered by everything.
Well, after witnessing a 150-centimeter loli brutally beat one hooligan and then perform an over-the-shoulder throw on another, it was perfectly normal for her brain to have short-circuited.
The two hooligans struggled on the ground. The yellow-haired guy finally managed to stand up, only to slip on a bottle and fall again.
I looked back, hands on my hips, truly startled. Everyone in the internet cafe had stood up, staring blankly in our direction.
I estimated that no one would dare cause trouble in this internet cafe ever again.
The two hooligans scrambled and crawled out the door. After running for a bit, the Pimple Face guy reappeared, pointing at the three of us in terror. “F*ck you, you’re dead! We’re Old Rooster’s men! You bastards, let’s see if this sh*tty internet cafe of yours can even stay open! F*ck!”
Having delivered their threats, the two hooligans fled. We heard their thudding footsteps echoing down the stairs, and occasionally, faint, terrified curses.
Wait, Old Rooster?
I pondered for a long time. It seemed to be the guy I’d once kicked onto a billiard table and then beaten senseless a while back. Hearing this, I realized it wasn’t good. Dragon Brother had lost her previous internet cafe job because those hooligans kept blocking the entrance, making the owner afraid to keep her. Losing another job like this would be terrible.
But then I thought, this is a society governed by law, after all. The store’s surveillance cameras had captured everything. There’s no way there wouldn’t be justice. There were so many witnesses in the internet cafe. At most, Dragon Brother would make the news: “150-centimeter Loli Brutally Beats Hooligans, Scene Leaves People Stunned.” I figured it wouldn’t be a big deal.
I turned to look at Old Shen, who also looked at me with a helpless expression.
Dragon Brother stood with her hands on her hips for a moment, then sighed as she surveyed the scattered plastic bottles. I figured this would mean another deduction from her wages. Dragon Brother pondered for a bit, then said, “I’m going for a smoke. Help me clean up… For the plastic bottles that aren’t broken, wash them and put them inside. If they’re broken, pour out the drink and throw the bottles in that bin… Xiao Hua, mop the floor.”
With that, Dragon Brother felt for the cigarettes in her pocket and walked towards the smoking room. Xiao Hua, still bewildered, huddled in the corner, her gaze following Dragon Brother. The entire internet cafe silently watched Dragon Brother’s retreating figure. Old Shen, looking a bit helpless, called out, “Everyone, sit down! Go back to your games, it’s nothing!”
The people in the internet cafe exchanged glances, then sat down, occasionally whispering to each other. I sighed, bent down, and picked up a broken plastic bottle. Xiao Hua looked at me with a questioning gaze. I waved my hand dismissively. “Sit down. I’ll take care of it.”
