He took a roundabout route, circling twice.
Soon, he arrived swiftly at Mofan Bookstore.
Teacher Borg was still seated at the counter, engrossed in a book.
Catching sight of Fran from the corner of his eye, he startled and quickly rose.
With no customers in the bookstore, he ushered Fran into the adjacent secret room.
As they settled into their seats, before Fran could even speak, Teacher Borg frowned.
“Why did you contact the intelligence station without permission?” he demanded.
“Unless it’s an extremely urgent situation, such actions are strictly forbidden!”
Fran was momentarily taken aback, then quickly apologized to Teacher Borg.
“I’m sorry, Teacher Borg, I… I just received new intelligence,” he stammered.
“I got excited and rushed right over.”
“Didn’t Firefly tell you?” Teacher Borg sighed, flicking his sleeve.
“You’re only supposed to come when you receive the Sci-Fi Literature Gazette. If you want to contact the intelligence station and there’s no emergency, you can wait. Too much contact makes us vulnerable to exposure!”
Having been reprimanded immediately upon entering, Fran lowered his head in resignation.
After a moment, Teacher Borg calmed himself.
He sat beside Fran and prompted, “Alright, tell me, what’s this new intelligence?”
“I just received information,” Fran reported promptly.
“I now know the content of the telegram Lyon received. It was a message we sent to the tavern waitress named ‘Ella.’ Her codename on the telegram appears to be ‘Carrier Pigeon.’ It should be safe to assume she is Lyon’s informant!”
Upon hearing this, Borg adjusted his glasses and nodded.
“Oh? So… it’s confirmed then?”
“Yes, now we just need to find a way to apprehend this person!” Fran declared.
“Won’t that arouse Lyon’s suspicion?”
Borg remained cautious, but Fran shook his head, indicating it wouldn’t be necessary.
“We can simply use the excuse that the Patriot Alliance organization’s internal review exposed Ella as a traitor. As long as we keep it confidential, when Lyon can’t contact Ella, he’ll have no choice but to believe it.”
“That’s true, but…” Borg tightened his grip on his teacup.
“Wouldn’t the Teutonic agent have protection? How much risk would we be taking, and how much force would we need to arrest this person?”
Fran pondered for a moment, then shook his head, speaking with considerable confidence.
“I believe carrying out this matter won’t involve much risk.”
“Oh, how so?” Borg raised an eyebrow, questioning Fran.
Fran elaborated, “It’s quite simple. This informant cannot possibly have too many Teutonic agents protecting her. First, Lyon likely has numerous informants, and he simply doesn’t have enough manpower to assign guards to each one.”
“Secondly, these informants usually communicate with him via telegram. If they could contact Teutonic agents directly, why would they use telegrams, which are far more susceptible to interception?”
Borg considered this. “Hmm… so, this informant named Ella should be operating alone, reporting solely to Lyon, is that right?”
“Precisely!” Fran affirmed.
“Moreover, Lyon generally wouldn’t send people to try and capture or interfere with the Patriot Alliance’s affairs, as it risks exposing Ella. This time, it can be said he resorted to a desperate measure.”
“I can tell he still wants to keep Ella, to continue gathering intelligence on our organization and try to reel in a bigger fish.”
“In that case, Fran, do you have a good method for catching this Ella?” Borg asked.
“Directly kidnapping her on the street, or breaking into her house? Both seem a bit too… ostentatious.”
Fran offered a slight smile, turning his head as if joking.
“Can’t be done?”
Seeing Borg’s helpless expression, he chuckled, patted the table, then leaned in close to Teacher Borg’s ear and quietly whispered his plan.
After listening, Borg couldn’t help but nod.
He gave Fran a thumbs-up. “Fran, that’s an excellent idea. Good, I’ll take care of this immediately. But… do you really need to be involved? There might be risks.”
“I… I must participate!” Fran clenched his fists.
Borg nodded, saying nothing more, understanding Fran’s sentiments.
Fran and Borg discussed some specific details.
Afterward, Borg rose, just about to leave, when Fran suddenly remembered something else.
‘Oh, the contact method!’
“Wait!” He quickly grabbed Borg. “Teacher Borg, there’s something else I need to tell you!”
“Hmm?” Borg turned back, somewhat puzzled.
Hadn’t everything already been arranged? What… what now?
“Just tell me what it is!” Teacher Borg stated directly.
Fran looked a little embarrassed. “When I was under house arrest, to send a message to the organization, I had Yuli, the station chief of the Purburg station, retrieve a newspaper for me once. She probably knows about that mailbox.”
“What?!” Borg tensed, quickly sitting back down to ask, “Does she know that mailbox is a contact method, or has she grown suspicious of it?”
“Probably… not?” Fran couldn’t be certain, which was why he brought it up.
It was always better to be careful.
Hmm…
Teacher Borg pondered for a moment, then nodded. “Alright, I understand. Let’s abandon that mailbox. Better safe than sorry. From now on… pay attention to the sign outside Mofan Bookstore. If I hang a ‘New Arrivals’ sign, or if there’s a truly urgent situation, then come contact me.”
“Understood…” Fran nodded.
Teacher Borg seemed a bit embarrassed by his own strictness.
He fell silent for a moment, then apologized to Fran.
“Although today’s situation wasn’t exactly an emergency, I was indeed too strict with you. You’re still new; take your time.”
Fran said little in response.
He knew perfectly well that espionage didn’t care if you were a newcomer; one moment of carelessness could wipe out an entire contact station.
But…
Sigh—
He sighed, understanding clearly that both Borg and he himself knew his eagerness for revenge had clouded his judgment.
Fran immediately calmed down considerably.
After silently committing all the details of this contact to memory, he took a Teutonic language book as usual, preparing to leave the bookstore and return to the mansion.
“Oh, right, Fran!” Borg suddenly turned back to give Fran one last instruction.
“You need to be careful in Purburg. Some people already consider you a traitor and hate you to the core. Due to your undercover identity, the organization can’t interfere too much, so you must be cautious.”
“Huh?”
Upon hearing this, Fran felt his heart clench.
He nodded blankly, then let out a bitter sigh.
Sigh—

The next evening…
The young woman frowned, somewhat strangely pulling another letter from her mailbox.
Ever since receiving the letter from the Patriot Alliance organization yesterday, she had been closely monitoring her home mailbox.
She wanted to see when the organization would send a new letter and who the sender might be.
Curiously, she waited and waited, but nothing came.
It wasn’t until she couldn’t stand the suspense any longer, and briefly went out and returned, that this letter coincidentally appeared in her mailbox.
She found it a little odd but didn’t dwell on it.
Opening the letter, she read its contents:
[Tonight at 8 PM, a small secret meeting will be held at residential house number 77 in Dark Alley. Important information will be announced. Your presence is mandatory. — Patriot Alliance Organization.]
