Fran suddenly looked up, blinking in disbelief at Yuli who had appeared before him.

Was the meeting over?

He turned to where Yuli and the others had been talking, only to see Lyon and the rest still sitting there chatting. He turned back, and Yuli was standing right in front of him.

“You… how did you come back so suddenly?” Fran asked, astonished. Yuli smiled, sat down beside him, and picked up a dessert from the table. “I came back to feed my little dummy~ Are you hungry?”

“Well, yes, but I can’t just watch my little dummy sit here starving,” Yuli said, bringing the dessert to Fran’s lips. “You didn’t eat breakfast this morning, and you didn’t touch the snacks I specially placed here. “Sorry for calling you over and then not having time to accompany you, leaving you neglected,” she said, smoothing Fran’s hair apologetically, then earnestly asked, “Are you sure you can go back alone? Do you want me to have someone escort you?”

Fran walked out of the hall. No one stopped him at the door.

‘Probably easy to leave, hard to enter,’ he thought. At the entrance, he hailed a taxi and told the driver to head to Mofan Bookstore.

Along the way, Fran rehearsed what he would say. Soon, the car stopped, and he paid and got out.

Standing on the street, the first thing he noticed was a newsstand, where a few Francians were gathered. The vendor was shouting, “Hey, come and see the newspaper! The new city government has been established, and the state of military control is about to be lifted!”

People around the stand held newspapers with varied expressions—some praying for peace, others wearing serious looks.

Fran frowned. ‘Heh… those newspapers still in operation sure write fast.’

Lifting military control? Wishful thinking. The Teutons around him had made it clear: the new city government was just a puppet.

These newspapers…

Soon, Borg noticed Fran entering. Their eyes met, and Borg first showed surprise, then nodded.

Fran slipped over to a shelf, pretending to browse new books. Borg called over an employee to watch the store.

Borg approached Fran, signaling with his eyes, and Fran quickly followed him to the back.

Soon, they reached the small dark room that felt so familiar. Borg gestured for Fran to sit. “Fran, long time no see!”

“Yeah…” Fran nodded. The dormancy period had been so long that seeing Mr. Borg again filled him with excitement.

But this was no time for pleasantries. He slapped the table and immediately reported, “Mr. Borg, I have something important to tell you!”
