Chapter 79: A Morning Transformation

Luo Xiaoyun got out of bed and walked out of the bedroom into the living room.

The living room was quiet. The dining table was neatly set: warm milk, soft toasted bread, and a plate of cut fresh fruit, bright and clearly carefully prepared.

Next to the plate was a note.

Su Muxue’s delicate, gentle handwriting appeared:

“Xiaoyun, I had to go out suddenly. Remember to eat breakfast while it’s hot, don’t go out on an empty stomach. I won’t be back until evening, so wait for me to make dinner. Don’t be lazy and order takeout, okay?, Muxue”

At the end, she had drawn a soft smiley face.

Luo Xiaoyun held the note, and warmth spread through her heart. She carefully put it away when her phone suddenly rang.

It was a message from her second brother:

– Are you awake?

– I am.

– Then come over, I’m already at the restaurant.

– Okay.

– Um… I’ve changed a bit. When you see me, don’t be too surprised.

– What change? Did you get a s*x change?

– …

She stared at those three words for three seconds, took a deep breath, and decisively exited the chat.

No more replies. If she continued, she was afraid she’d punch her second brother through the screen.

Luo Xiaoyun put down her phone and went to the bathroom to wash up. The warm water washed away the last traces of sleepiness.

She looked at herself in the mirror, smoothed her silver hair, took a deep breath, and turned back to the bedroom.

Opening the wardrobe, most of what she saw were soft-colored, modest women’s clothes, neatly folded, all picked out with Su Muxue before. Her men’s clothes were squeezed into a corner, occupying only a small space.

Luo Xiaoyun stood in front of the wardrobe, her fingertip lightly brushing over the hangers. She tilted her head in thought for a moment, then reached out and took a simple outfit.

After changing, she stood in front of the mirror, looking herself up and down.

A light apricot round-neck knitted short sleeve top clung softly to her body, making her skin look especially clear, revealing a slender pale arm.

Below was a milky white pleated short skirt, ending just above the knee. When she moved, the skirt swayed gently, with a girlish softness.

On her feet were clean white sneakers, laces neatly tied, no extra decorations. Her silver-white long hair was loosely tied in a low ponytail, a few strands falling by her cheeks. She looked so clean that people couldn’t look away.

The perfect image of a girl next door.

Luo Xiaoyun turned around in front of the mirror, the skirt lifting slightly. She nodded in satisfaction, a smug curve to her lips. “As expected of me. I look great in anything.”

She turned again, unable to resist adding narcissistically, “This young lady’s looks are absolutely stunning.”

After being vain enough, she suddenly remembered something. She took a pair of plain white safety shorts from the wardrobe and put them on, to prevent accidental exposure, a necessary skill for girls.

Then she grabbed the little sky-blue backpack that Su Muxue had picked out for her during their last shopping trip. It was round and had a fluffy little bear charm hanging from it.

Luo Xiaoyun carefully placed the medical report inside the bag and zipped it shut.

Back in the living room, she picked up a slice of toast from the table, bit it with her mouth, then tilted her head back and downed the milk in one go. She wiped the corner of her mouth with the back of her hand, grabbed the car keys, and left the house.

The ice-blue Porsche drove out of the garage, leaving a smooth trail of light in the sun.

Luo Xiaoyun held the steering wheel with one hand and opened her phone’s navigation with the other, inputting the restaurant address her second brother had sent.

The route popped up on the screen. She glanced at it and raised an eyebrow slightly, it seemed to be a famous five-star restaurant in the city.

“When did second brother become so classy, inviting me to eat at a place like this?” she muttered under her breath and stepped on the gas.

The car drove through busy streets, passed under a row of sycamore trees, and finally stopped beside an imposing building. The restaurant’s parking lot was on the side. She found a spot, parked, and got out.

From the moment she stepped out of the car, the gazes around her involuntarily converged.

An ice-blue Porsche, a girl with silver-white long hair, a light apricot knitted top, a milky white pleated skirt, every element was eye-catching enough, and together they made it impossible to look away.

Some people secretly pulled out their phones, some whispered, some stared at her without blinking.

Luo Xiaoyun felt a bit uncomfortable under the attention. She lowered her head slightly and walked quickly toward the main entrance.

At the door, she looked up at the sign above the lintel, “Imperial View Pavilion.”

She paused slightly, tilted her head in thought. “Imperial View Pavilion? Was it always called that… I don’t remember.”

She didn’t dwell on it for long and pushed open the door to go inside.

The lobby was magnificently decorated but not vulgar. Light fell on the marble floor, reflecting a warm luster. A young lady in uniform stood at the front desk. When she saw Luo Xiaoyun walking in, her eyes lit up instantly, what a beautiful girl…

She quickly adjusted her expression and put on a professional smile. “Hello, ma’am. How can I help you?”

Luo Xiaoyun stepped forward. “I’d like to ask which room Luo Jingming is in.”

The receptionist’s fingers flew over the keyboard. She glanced at the screen and replied politely, “One moment, please… Mr. Luo is in room 6104 on the top floor.”

Luo Xiaoyun nodded.

The receptionist turned and called to someone not far away, “Xiao Si, take this lady to 6104.”

Soon, a young waiter in uniform came over and politely made a gesture. “This way, please, ma’am.”

Luo Xiaoyun followed the waiter, taking the private elevator to the top floor. The corridor was quiet and elegant, the decor luxurious but not ostentatious. When they reached the door of room 6104, the waiter bowed respectfully and then turned and left.
