Chapter 91: The Illusion of Nullification

“Do not panic.”

Su Liyue’s voice, like a clear spring, flowed through the howling gale.

Her slender figure stood steadfastly at the heart of the storm, her silver-white hair fluttering in the wind yet remaining remarkably unruffled.

Her eyes, serene and focused, gazed intently at a point ahead.

Her right hand lifted subtly, the tip of her staff glowing with a faint, ethereal aura.

She turned her head slightly to look at Mu Wanqing beside her, her voice gentle yet resolute:

“Leave this tornado formation to me. Qingqing, observe carefully, and the moment you find an opening, strike immediately. You must freeze the Phantom Cloud Leopard, restricting its movements.”

“But, Yueyue…” Mu Wanqing bit her lower lip, her slender fingers clutching her staff tightly as her clothes flapped wildly in the fierce wind.

She struggled to keep her eyes open, but the raging sand and wind forced her to blink incessantly, causing crystalline tears to stream down her cheeks.

“I… I can’t even see its location…”

A flicker of tenderness crossed Su Liyue’s eyes as she gently brushed away the tear streaks from Mu Wanqing’s face.

“Silly girl, isn’t Xingchen here?” she said, casting a meaningful glance at Ye Xingchen.

Ye Xingchen nodded in understanding, then gently extended his right hand, his palm broad and strong, turned upward in an inviting gesture.

“Wanqing, please give me your hand.”

His voice, deep and steady, proved remarkably reassuring amidst the roaring gale.

Mu Wanqing’s face flushed crimson, and she looked to Su Liyue for reassurance.

Only after receiving her best friend’s smiling nod did she cautiously extend her own fair, slender hand.

The instant her fingertips met Ye Xingchen’s palm, a sudden warmth emanated from the point of contact.

Mu Wanqing’s eyes widened in surprise; Ye Xingchen’s palm glowed with a faint luminescence, which then flowed up her arm, finally settling at her brow.

In that instant, the world transformed before her eyes; the howling gale seemed to coalesce into transparent silk, every current of air now distinctly discernible.

At the heart of the storm, a massive figure darted with astonishing speed, each leap leaving an inexplicable afterimage in its wake.

This level of perception far surpassed her most proficient reconnaissance spell, Ice Ear.

“This… this is…”

Ye Xingchen gently shook his head, his gaze urging her to maintain focus.

Mu Wanqing immediately understood, took a deep breath, and closed her eyes.

Within her heightened perception, every movement of the Phantom Cloud Leopard became as clear as a slow-motion replay.

Silently, she channeled her magic, condensing the power of ice within her, awaiting the opportune moment to strike.

Observing the trio poised to act, Chixiao, a hint of nervousness in his voice, inquired:

“Brother Ye, is there anything we can do? After all, against a Gold-tier magical beast, every bit of strength increases our chances of success.”

Ye Xingchen’s expression remained unchanged; he simply raised a hand in a calming gesture.

“Calm yourselves.”

His profound gaze remained fixed on the heart of the storm.

“Let Mu Wanqing restrict the Phantom Cloud Leopard’s movements first. As for the rest of you… you might want to keep an eye on your surroundings. Such intense energy fluctuations are bound to attract other teams.”

Upon hearing this, Chixiao’s pupils contracted.

He immediately recalled the ambush by Zhao Yan and Lin Mo’s team yesterday.

Clutching his staff tighter, he spoke with a grave tone:

“I understand.”

Turning to his companions, he quickly issued instructions:

“Yueyao, use your Earth Vein Perception to detect any movement within a hundred-meter radius. And you two,”

He gestured to the two wind mages, “use Wind Whisper to monitor for any anomalies in all directions. Alert us immediately if anything happens.”

Lin Yueyao pressed her lips together and nodded, her slender fingers swiftly brandishing her staff as a yellowish-brown magic circle slowly unfolded beneath her feet.

The two wind mages exchanged glances, then simultaneously raised their staves, as azure wind elements swirled around their bodies.

Although their movements were sharp, their slightly trembling fingertips betrayed their underlying tension.

Chixiao watched his busy teammates, his brow furrowed in concern.

He understood all too well that, with their current strength, rashly joining a battle of this caliber would only be counterproductive.

A single misstep could not only fail to help but might also disrupt Ye Xingchen and his companions’ tactical rhythm.

At this thought, his grip on his staff tightened further, forcing himself to concentrate solely on the lookout mission.

“Commencing action! Nullification Magic, transforming existence into nothingness…”

Su Liyue’s clear, crisp voice cut through the storm with striking clarity.

Her staff, held in her hand, elegantly traced an arc.

As the staff tip danced, the raging tornados vanished one after another with astonishing speed, as if wiped away by an invisible, colossal hand.

Most astonishingly, these violent tornados, several meters in diameter, offered not even a hint of resistance, dissolving into nothingness in mere moments.

Chixiao’s pupils constricted violently, his grip on his staff tightening unconsciously until his knuckles turned white.

He watched with his own eyes as multiple tornados, which had sealed off all directions, were completely eradicated within a mere three breaths.

What startled him even more was that, after performing such an earth-shattering spell, one would expect a significant drain on magical power.

Yet, Su Liyue remained standing gracefully and composed, her breathing not even slightly disturbed, as if she had merely brushed dust from her sleeve.

“This…” Chixiao’s Adam’s apple bobbed as his suspicions grew stronger.

To so effortlessly neutralize a Gold-tier magical beast’s ultimate attack, either the Nullification Magic consumed far less power than he imagined, or… Su Liyue’s own magical reserves had reached an unimaginable level.

But was such a thing possible? Especially for students their age.

He gazed with a complex expression at her slender figure, truly understanding for the first time what it meant to face a chasm-like disparity.

Little did he know, behind Su Liyue, Ye Xingchen’s fingertips were subtly shimmering with faint spatial fluctuations.

The tornados that appeared to have been nullified were, in fact, directly transferred by him into an alternate dimension using spatial laws.

For Ye Xingchen, who had already stepped into the Saint realm, this level of spiritual energy consumption was as effortless and natural as breathing for an ordinary person.

Su Liyue’s seemingly effortless display was merely a perfect collaboration in this carefully orchestrated performance.

Moreover, to make the effect appear more authentic, Su Liyue had even feigned waving her staff, making it seem as though she were genuinely casting a spell with her magic.
