Chapter 125: Practical Training and Peculiar Pains

Dean Yu Qinglan’s powerful and resonant voice, amplified by magic, echoed throughout the entire arena. “Children, the practical training is now concluded. Regardless of whether you achieved a ranking or not, that is in the past. I believe that for all third-year students, this has been an invaluable experience. Whatever the outcome of this practical training, it will become your most precious asset on your path of magic! A single failure is not important. As long as you diligently practice your magic, I believe you too will become outstanding mages of the Aetherland Empire!”

Thunderous applause instantly erupted from below the stage, and a fervent determination ignited in the students’ eyes.

From this day forward, they would formally step into the hallowed halls of mages. Tedious theoretical lessons would become a thing of the past, and challenging practical training was about to begin.

Even more exhilarating, this meant they were one step closer to the vast world of their dreams.

“Effective immediately, all academic credits you have previously accumulated can be directly exchanged for cultivation resources.”

The Dean waved his staff, and a brilliant magical projection materialized in the air.

“The higher your credits, the more precious the resources you can exchange for. From now on, in all subsequent courses, academic credits will no longer be the key determinant of strength. Instead, combat rankings will be central, and the Academy Ranking Tournament will commence…”

A collective gasp rippled through the crowd.

This meant they would directly confront those formidable seniors, honing their skills in genuine combat.

“Defeat a higher-ranked individual, and you may claim their resource allocation! This is not limited to third-year students, but extends to the entire upper school! Do you wish to grow stronger? Then strive for it yourselves! Prove your worth through your power!”

This declaration stirred their spirits.

The students whispered amongst themselves, some champing at the bit, others nervously swallowing, but in everyone’s eyes shone a glint of eager anticipation.

A brand new journey had just begun.

In other words, in the upcoming magical combat, as long as one possessed sufficient strength, they could even seize the top-tier resources enjoyed by the academy’s most formidable experts!

After the practical training concluded, as she walked back to the dorm, Su Liyue suddenly frowned slightly, involuntarily pressing a hand to her lower abdomen.

A faint ache made her slow her pace.

‘Had she eaten something bad? Yet she’d consumed the same food as everyone else… wild fruits, wild vegetables, and roasted fish. She’d barely even touched the compressed biscuits.’

Glancing at the vivacious Mu Wanqing, Su Liyue could only attribute it to this female body being overly delicate.

Su Liyue and Mu Wanqing returned to their dorm room and indulged in a thoroughly refreshing hot shower.

Amidst the hazy steam, the fatigue from days of wilderness training seemed to be washed away entirely.

“This is how you should dress in summer!” Mu Wanqing exclaimed, changing into a refreshing light green skirt set and twirling lightly before the mirror.

Su Liyue, however, unhesitatingly opted for a pair of gender-neutral capri pants. Without her mother’s watchful eye or the restrictions of a school uniform, she could finally dress according to her own masculine mindset.

“Yueyue, you really are…”

Mu Wanqing looked at her friend’s attire and puffed out her cheeks. “It’s a shame to hide such lovely legs!” With that, she moved to pull down Su Liyue’s pants.

“Stop that!” Su Liyue nimbly dodged, but suddenly clutched her lower abdomen, a frown creasing her brow. The faint ache had returned. ‘Could this female body truly be so delicate?’

“Oh, Yueyue, it’s the weekend tomorrow. Fancy going out for a stroll? I heard a new alchemy workshop just opened!”

“Sounds good.” Su Liyue’s eyes lit up.

Ye Xingchen had already acquired the starmetal ore; he would undoubtedly be holed up in the laboratory tomorrow, researching the magic-guided gun.

As Su Liyue, she could take the opportunity to relax. It was perfect, allowing her to enjoy life without hindering her work progress.

‘A male body immersed in laboratory research, a female body out shopping and enjoying herself—this, she mused, was the epitome of a time-management master, adept at multitasking!’

Even better, she planned to seize the chance to sell the supplies she had gathered during her previous adventures. With the spatial teleportation ability between her two bodies, even logistics were no longer an issue. This was far more convenient than any remote communication. ‘After all, it was merely moving things from one hand to the other, saving even phone charges.’

“It’s settled then!” Mu Wanqing happily linked her arm through Su Liyue’s, but suddenly felt Su Liyue’s body stiffen.

“What’s wrong?”

“N-nothing…” Su Liyue forced a smile.

That strange pain had returned. She discreetly rubbed her still-aching abdomen. ‘It… it must just be an upset stomach, right?’
