He swept past the girls’ dormitory entrance like a gust of wind. Before the dorm matron could even finish shouting ‘Stop!’, he had already rushed inside.
By the time the matron rubbed her eyes to confirm it wasn’t an illusion, screams had already erupted down the hallway.
The female students along the way only felt a blur before their eyes. Wasn’t that the rumored boyfriend of Su Liyue, who had been the talk of the campus, carrying a large bag and barging into the girls’ dorm?
The dorm matron’s scolding still echoed in the corridor when Ye Xingchen had already arrived at Su Liyue’s door. After all, he knew his own dormitory layout all too well.
Without a second thought, Ye Xingchen knocked on the door right there in the girls’ dorm hallway. Since Su Liyue was taking a bath at the moment, it was naturally Mu Wanqing who opened the door.
“What are you doing here so early…” Mu Wanqing’s words died in her throat as she saw Ye Xingchen laden with bags. She was momentarily stunned, then suddenly understood, but immediately sensed something wrong.
Hadn’t Yueyue even notified Ye Xingchen yet? How had he come so quickly? Could this be some sort of telepathy between lovers?
Ye Xingchen was about to explain when a sharp pain suddenly hit him.
He grunted and doubled over, inadvertently allowing Mu Wanqing to see the female students peeking curiously from outside the door.
Mu Wanqing immediately caught on. So that was it! This young couple really… but then again, it didn’t add up.
“Ye Xingchen, this is the girls’ dormitory, right? Let’s not even mention how familiar you are with the place—how did the dorm matron let you in in the first place?”
It seemed Ye Xingchen had only just realized what he had done. In his excitement, he had actually charged straight into the girls’ dorm in front of everyone?!
Seeing his bewildered expression, Mu Wanqing quickly pieced things together. She grabbed him and pulled him inside, slamming the door shut.
Pressed against the door, Ye Xingchen finally understood the gravity of his actions.
Outside, the dorm matron’s angry shouts were drawing nearer…
But since things had already come to this, Ye Xingchen couldn’t afford to worry about the consequences.
He dashed to Su Liyue’s bedside in a single bound. His slender fingers flew as he swiftly laid out a fresh, sun-scented bedsheet.
“Wait… Yueyue, she’s still in the bath!” Mu Wanqing called out hurriedly as she saw Ye Xingchen carrying a cup of warm brown sugar water and striding toward the bathroom.
She knew they were a couple, but this was too reckless, wasn’t it? If he barged in like that, even if he was her boyfriend, Su Liyue would be frightened enough to scream—or worse, slap him.
But the next scene left Mu Wanqing utterly dumbfounded. Ye Xingchen pushed open the bathroom door with the steaming brown sugar water in hand, yet the expected scream never came.
She crept closer suspiciously and peered in, her eyes widening.
Through the hazy steam, Su Liyue was obediently holding a cup and sipping it in small mouthfuls. Ye Xingchen knelt beside the bathtub, gently massaging her abdomen with tender movements.
What shocked her even more was the inexplicable intimacy between the two. They moved with such unspoken默契… as if she were the one intruding.
What kind of bizarre development was this?
“This…” Mu Wanqing opened her mouth.
Were you two really this open? Already at the stage of seeing each other naked, yet you said you weren’t in a hurry to have children?
Su Liyue, soaking in the tub, seemed to sense her confusion. She raised her wet lashes. “Qingqing, actually, we…”
“Stop!” Mu Wanqing made a time-out gesture.

Suddenly, Ye Xingchen’s hand slipped uncontrollably, sending foam splashing all over both their faces.
“I-I’ll go get you towels!” Mu Wanqing blushed and turned to flee. But just as the door closed behind her, she heard the splash of water and cries of surprise from the couple.
Leaning against the door, her mind was a whirl of the bizarre scene she had just witnessed. When Ye Xingchen was bathing Liyue just now, his hand had been right there…
Just then, the dorm matron arrived at the door at lightning speed.
“Bang! Bang! Bang!” The matron’s pounding made the door frame tremble. “Ye Xingchen! Don’t think you can hide in there! I know you’re inside!”
Mu Wanqing quickly cracked the door open and whispered, “Ye Xingchen, hurry up! I’ll try to stall her…”
Before she could finish, the sharp jingle of keys suddenly approached—the matron had already taken out the spare key!
With a click, the door was shoved open.
The matron’s piercing gaze swept past Mu Wanqing, who was standing at the bathroom entrance. Catching the sound of water from the bathroom, she revealed a knowing sneer.
“Excellent. Not only do you trespass into the girls’ dorm, but you dare to hide in the bathroom?”
“Matron, you must be mistaken. There really is only…” Mu Wanqing spread her arms to block the way, her voice wavering.
“Do you take me for blind?” The matron waved her wand, and a gentle yet irresistible force pushed Mu Wanqing aside.
“Over a dozen students in the hallway saw him! Trespassing into the girls’ dormitory is grounds for expulsion!”
Mu Wanqing had no choice but to step aside, thinking, ‘Sorry, Yueyue, I tried my best.’
“Ye Xingchen, I’ll give you three seconds to come out, or you’re dead!”
“Matron~ You must be hearing things. I’m the only one taking a bath here~” Su Liyue’s sweet voice floated out through the mist.
“Do you think I’m a three-year-old?!” The matron yanked the door open!
Through the hazy steam, Su Liyue was alone in the bathtub, a few rose petals floating on the water’s surface.
“Impossible!” The matron waved her wand three times in disbelief.
“Revealing Charm! Tracking Charm! Soul Detection!”
Yet, the magical light swept through every corner without discovering a single trace of male presence.
Mu Wanqing was equally stunned by the scene. Just moments ago, she had seen the two bathing together. How had Ye Xingchen vanished into thin air?
