Join the ServerLia first spent several afternoons providing detailed definitions and derivations for divergence and curl, which served as the fundamental mathematical tools.
Then came those four lines of formulas that reconstructed the electromagnetic world.
She chose a retrospective tone, deriving them step by step from their respective sources—electrostatics, magnetostatics, induction, and electric current—before finally stitching them together perfectly under the concept of ‘displacement current’.
The entire process flowed from her pen with extreme ease.
At the end of the thesis, she wrote the four lines of formulas side by side, forming an independent section.
She gazed at these four lines and wrote a name directly as the section title.
“Maxwell’s Equations”
After finishing the final letter, Lia put down her pen.
The ink on the parchment was not yet completely dry, emitting a unique fragrance.
She organized the thick stack of manuscripts and bound them carefully with a thin cord.

As the end of the year approached, a hint of holiday bustle filled the air of the capital.
Adèle had knocked on her door yesterday to deliver a letter; the envelope was made of ordinary paper, and the wax seal bore only the emblem of a common merchant guild in Leo City.
“A messenger delivered this; he said it must be handed to you personally.”
Lia took the letter and recognized the familiar handwriting.
It was from her uncle.
She opened the envelope, and the contents of the letter came into view.
The space between the lines was filled with a condescending attitude and undisguised boasting.
The letter first offered a few lines of insincere concern about whether she was adjusting well to working under Master Klein.
Then, it impatiently turned to the main point.
He said the Farrien family had recently gained fame in Leo City because he had befriended a great figure from the capital, a noble Fifth-Circle Mage named Master Horace.
This master thought highly of him and was even willing to provide protection for the Farrien family.
At the end of the letter, he wrote in a charitable tone, allowing Lia to return home once during the New Year festival.
[…If you can manage to request leave from Master Klein.]
[However, I know how strict Master Klein’s requirements are; you may not have the opportunity.]
[But do not worry; I will take good care of the estate your father left behind for you until the day you graduate…]
Lia stood quietly for a moment, then refolded the letter and placed it back in the envelope.
She picked up the bundle of papers from the table and walked out of her room.
The door to Klein’s study was open, and the sound of conversation drifted out from within.
Lia walked inside and saw Klein sitting on a sofa with an old man whose hair and beard were completely white; complicated geometric figures were drawn on the black stone slab in front of them.
“It’s Master Horace!”
“Oh, isn’t this our little Lia?” Horace spotted her immediately, along with the thick stack of manuscripts in her arms.
His eyes lit up.
“Do you have something new? Let me see.”
Lia walked to the table and placed the thesis down. “It’s just an organization of some recent research.”
Horace didn’t take her humble words seriously at all; he reached out, took the papers, and impatiently untied the cord.
Lia ignored him and walked over to Klein.
She handed the letter to him.
Klein took the letter and scanned it quickly.
He set the paper aside, a flash of coldness crossing his deep blue eyes.
He looked at Lia.
“I would like to request leave to return to Leo City for a trip,” Lia said.
“How long do you plan to be gone?” Klein’s voice betrayed no emotion.
“I’ll be back after the New Year festival.”
“Very well.”
Klein answered quickly. “Do you need a magic carriage arranged?”
“No need, I can return on my own.”
Their conversation was interrupted by a cry of surprise.
“Good heavens! This… what is this?”
Horace held a few sheets of parchment, his hands trembling slightly.
His eyes were wide, his gaze glued to the paper as if he were looking at an unbelievable miracle.
“Divergence… curl… using a calculus operator to describe the properties of a field? This idea… this idea is a stroke of genius!”
He suddenly looked up at Klein and Lia. “Which of you came up with this?”
“We did it together,” Klein replied.
Horace lowered his head again, greedily reading the subsequent content.
His breathing grew more and more rapid, and he kept muttering to himself.
“Rewriting the laws of electrostatic fields with divergence… beautiful! Simply beautiful!”
“The divergence of a magnetic field is always zero… therefore, magnetic monopoles do not exist! This proof is irreproachable!”
“The curl of an electric field… the curl of a magnetic field… My God…”
It took a long time for him to recover and look back at Lia.
“Child, do you know what you’ve done?”
Lia did not answer.
Horace stood up excitedly and paced back and forth in the study.
“No, this isn’t just a thesis. This is the foundation of a palace! A magnificent new palace of electromagnetism!”
The conversation between Lia and Klein suddenly reminded him of something.
“Wait, wait a minute. Where did you say you were going just now?” Horace asked.
“Leo City,” Lia replied.
“Leo City? That Leo City on the border of the Golden Radiance Kingdom?”
Horace’s expression turned puzzled.
“That remote, backwater place? What are you going there for?”
“To go home for the New Year.”
“Going home?” Horace stroked his white beard and suddenly slapped his thigh.
“What a coincidence! What a total coincidence!”
An expression that was both annoyed and amused appeared on his face.
“I have a useless disciple named Mathis who also ran off to Leo City some time ago!
He said he was going to look for creative inspiration, and claimed the air in the capital was too noisy and interfered with his research on calculus and electromagnetism!”
Horace’s voice suddenly rose, tinged with a bit of sourness.
“He even wrote to me last week, and the whole letter was full of praise for you!
Calling you ‘the great idol, Miss Lia,’ saying your principles of calculus are the language of the gods, and the discovery of electromagnetic induction is a milestone of the era! Hmph!
In his heart, the status of you, little girl, is even higher than me, his teacher!”
The old mage huffed and puffed, looking truly a bit upset.
“Idol! He even calls you his idol! Now look at this; his idol is personally going to be near him!”
Lia listened quietly.
A faint, almost imperceptible curve appeared at the corner of Klein’s mouth.
“No, I’m going to write him a letter as soon as I get back!”
“I’m going to tell him that his idol has graced him with her presence! I’ll make him crawl out and welcome you with the highest level of etiquette!”
He picked up Lia’s stack of manuscripts and cradled them in his arms like a treasure.
“I’m taking this thesis with me first!”
With that, Horace rushed out of the study like a whirlwind, cradling the papers and never looking back.
Silence returned to the study, leaving only Lia and Klein.
Klein looked at Lia, a hint of an indescribable smile in his eyes.
Lia felt her cheeks begin to grow hot again.

Asjsjjwje cute as always, and setting that asides. What do you mean fifth circles Horace? Is it the disciple that Horace tutor or what? Kinda confused lol. But nonetheless thanks for the chapter
