Chapter 123: I don’t want to

“Mi–Miss Duan, you can’t kill someone.” Liu Qiu’s voice trembled as she spoke. She knew she looked cowardly right now, but Duan Liming was truly terrifying.

She had met many people before, but none of them had ever made her feel afraid just by looking into their eyes the way Duan Liming did.

At the same time, Liu Qiu finally understood something—why Duan Liming had been so certain about the conversation between her and the system.

Because there was another personality inside Duan Liming.

If that was the case, it would be easy for Duan Liming to suspect that there was also something inside Liu Qiu that could speak.

Duan Liming’s gaze was deep, like a boundless night.

She raised her hand and beckoned to Liu Qiu.
“Come here, Liu Qiu.”

Liu Qiu took a few steps back.

Duan Liming’s expression didn’t change, but her aura was completely different from before. Patiently, she said, “Liu Qiu, you’re my wife.”

“If you listen to me, I’ll listen to you too.”

“For example… I won’t kill her.”

Liu Qiu naturally knew who “her” referred to. Her heart thumped wildly. Her lips parted, but in the end she couldn’t say a single word.

Her steps were stiff, moving forward as slowly as a turtle.

Her nervousness was obvious.

But the distance between her and Duan Liming eventually disappeared. Liu Qiu stood stiffly in front of her.

Duan Liming reached out and cupped Liu Qiu’s cheeks, gently rubbing them.

“Very obedient.”

“But not enough.”

Out of the corner of her eye, Liu Qiu glanced at the screen. Fu Jinyin was still walking, but in the next moment people crowded around her from both front and back.

Liu Qiu wasn’t a very good actress—at least not right now. Besides fear and tension, a trace of worry appeared on her face.

Duan Liming said nothing. She carefully traced Liu Qiu’s facial features with her eyes. Her pitch-black pupils reflected nothing, yet the intensity of her gaze was overwhelming.

Liu Qiu’s eyelashes trembled as she turned her eyes toward Duan Liming. Her eyes had already grown a little wet.

Feeling the warmth of Duan Liming’s hands holding her face, Liu Qiu whispered, “What else do you want me to do?”

Fu Jinyin had already been captured. The Duan Liming in front of her clearly had the power to decide whether Fu Jinyin lived or died.

Duan Liming tightened her fingers and pulled Liu Qiu closer. Their breaths gradually mingled.

Liu Qiu didn’t dare move. Her expression wilted, and even her curly long hair seemed to droop.

Duan Liming pressed her thumb against Liu Qiu’s lips and said softly, “Open.”

Liu Qiu glanced at her and obediently opened her mouth. The thumb slipped inside, carrying a faint fragrance that filled her senses.

A little frightened, Liu Qiu grabbed her pants tightly with both hands.

Duan Liming lowered her eyes, noticing the small movement. She leaned closer to Liu Qiu’s lips. Their distance was so close that Liu Qiu vaguely felt as if Duan Liming was about to kiss her.

But Duan Liming didn’t kiss her. She simply pressed her thumb against Liu Qiu’s tongue.

“Do you need me to kiss you?” Duan Liming’s magnetic voice sounded right beside her ear.

Liu Qiu wanted to shake her head, but she suddenly remembered what Duan Liming had said earlier.

‘If you listen to me, I’ll listen to you.’

Duan Liming hadn’t asked a question.

She had given her a choice.

Liu Qiu paused for a moment, then slowly nodded.

Duan Liming withdrew the finger from her mouth. Her breath came closer and closer.

Unable to help it, Liu Qiu closed her eyes.

Looking at Liu Qiu’s trembling eyelashes, Duan Liming pressed a kiss onto her eyelid, then immediately pulled away.

Liu Qiu opened her eyes in confusion.

Duan Liming pointed at the screen.

On the screen, Fu Jinyin had been locked in an empty room. Her hands and feet were bound as she sat curled up in a corner.

Duan Liming asked Liu Qiu, “Do you want me to let her go?”

Liu Qiu nodded vigorously.

Duan Liming smiled—very faintly, so faint it was almost negligible, but she was indeed smiling.

She pointed to her own lips.

“My little wife, can you do what you should do tonight?”

Liu Qiu pressed her lips together and asked, “If I do it, will you release Fu Jinyin?”

Duan Liming nodded slightly.

“Of course.”

“I said it already. If you listen to me, I’ll listen to you. It goes both ways.”

Liu Qiu muttered, “I understand.”

“W-what do you want me to do?”

Duan Liming tapped her lips lightly. Her well-shaped lips parted as she softly said:

“Please me.”

Liu Qiu frowned and stayed silent for a long time.

Duan Liming was patient. She brushed Liu Qiu’s hair behind her ear and gently kneaded her small, pale ear.

Staring at Duan Liming’s face, Liu Qiu took a deep breath and said seriously, “I understand.”

She raised her hand, pressed it onto Duan Liming’s shoulder, and leaned forward on her own initiative. Their lips touched. Liu Qiu first rubbed them lightly together before slowly extending the tip of her tongue.

But as soon as she tried to pry deeper, she quickly withdrew it.

She pulled away and asked, “Is this okay?”

Duan Liming’s expression didn’t change, but her fingertip touched a trace of moisture.

She lifted her eyelids and stared into Liu Qiu’s eyes.

“Good girl.”

“But next time, you should be more serious.”

“The touch was too shallow, my little wife.”

Her voice was low and smooth, spreading slowly through the room like an intimate whisper.

Liu Qiu’s fingers curled slightly. Catching sight of Fu Jinyin on the screen again, she suddenly pushed Duan Liming against the floor-to-ceiling window.

Word by word, she said, “You have to keep your promise.”

Duan Liming slid the window panel, and the dazzling surveillance screens immediately disappeared, the glass turning transparent again.

Rain poured outside.

Liu Qiu’s breathing quickened. She would save Fu Jinyin.

At the same time, in the place where Fu Jinyin was locked up, the ceiling above suddenly opened. A mechanical arm extended downward toward her.

At the end of the arm was a tablet about ten inches wide.

On the small screen appeared Liu Qiu.

Fu Jinyin’s pupils shrank violently as she struggled frantically.

But in the next moment, she froze.

She saw Liu Qiu take the initiative to kiss that woman.

Liu Qiu… why are you kissing her? Didn’t you say you’d come back in a few days?

Fu Jinyin’s body trembled softly. Tears spilled out uncontrollably, sliding down endlessly.

It hurt so much.

The scene on the screen hurt so much.

Liu Qiu was kissing someone else on her own initiative.

Liu Qiu had lied to her. She was never coming back.

“Liu Qiu… why? Why did you lie to me?”

“Boom—!”

Another thunderclap sounded.

Liu Qiu jumped in fright—not just because of the thunder, but because of the notification in her mind.

Liu Qiu pulled away from Duan Liming’s lips, confusion filling her heart.

But Duan Liming didn’t give her time to think.

She led Liu Qiu to the large red bed embroidered with golden phoenixes, luxurious yet elegant.

“Liu Qiu. Continue.”

Liu Qiu neither nodded nor shook her head, but she pushed Duan Liming onto the bed.

She straddled her.

For Liu Qiu, this act didn’t carry any special emotion.

Duan Liming wanted this, and if she did it she could save Fu Jinyin. That was all.

She was Duan Liming’s wife now. If Duan Liming needed it, fulfilling it wasn’t a big deal.

Even though she thought so, when Duan Liming’s hand grasped her waist, Liu Qiu still couldn’t help feeling nervous—and a little afraid.

She had always feared this darker Duan Liming, the one who could see through all her thoughts.

Because she was straddling her, Liu Qiu’s dress had ridden up to her thighs. Duan Liming’s hand moved there as well.

Their skin touched.

Liu Qiu’s lips trembled slightly, as if she wanted to say something.

Duan Liming looked at her and asked calmly, “Liu Qiu, do you like this?”

Liu Qiu thought: No.

But of course she could only say that silently in her heart.

“Y-yes… I like it,” she replied stiffly.

Duan Liming’s fingers moved slowly upward beneath the fabric.

Liu Qiu’s body tensed. Duan Liming’s body temperature wasn’t cold, but everywhere she touched felt strangely sticky to Liu Qiu.

“Kiss me,” Duan Liming said in a low, sensual voice.

Unfortunately, Liu Qiu didn’t understand such nuances. She only knew that Duan Liming was asking her to kiss again.

She bent down and captured Duan Liming’s lips. Her skirt had been pushed higher and higher, already reaching her waist.

Liu Qiu wanted to investigate the source of the Green Hat Value. Fu Jinyin had already been locked up—so how was it still increasing?

Suddenly, the tight fabric was stretched open and something soft was grasped.

[Green Hat Value +10]

The number kept rising.

Liu Qiu closed her eyes, reached behind herself to grab Duan Liming’s hand, lifted it away, and placed it to the side.

Sitting up straight, she said quickly, “Too fast! W-we need finger cots! Yes—finger cots!”

Duan Liming lay on the bed without resisting. She simply looked at Liu Qiu and silently formed the words with her lips:

Fu — Jin — Yin.

Liu Qiu sighed inwardly and took off her nightdress.

Duan Liming hooked the elastic fabric and pulled Liu Qiu down, bringing their bodies even closer.

“Listen to me, or not?”

Liu Qiu braced her hands on both sides of Duan Liming’s arms and nodded.

“I’ll listen.”

Duan Liming blinked slowly, then flipped over and pinned Liu Qiu beneath her.

The sudden change of perspective left Liu Qiu momentarily stunned as she stared blankly at the warm yellow crystal chandelier.

Duan Liming leaned down and pinched Liu Qiu’s earlobe. Her long hair fell against Liu Qiu’s neck, making her skin itch.

“Do you like me, or not?”

Liu Qiu answered again, “I like you.”

These words confused her. Duan Liming should know the answer was fake—so why insist on hearing it?

How strange.

[Green Hat Value +10]

Even stranger—where exactly was it coming from?

Liu Qiu couldn’t figure it out.

But Duan Liming had already leaned down and captured her lips firmly.

A deeply possessive kiss.

Meanwhile, the last thing Fu Jinyin saw on the screen was Duan Liming pressing Liu Qiu down onto the bed and kissing her.

She didn’t dare think about what would happen next.

Her chest hurt terribly.

She had never felt this miserable before.

It hurt more than having her chest cut open.

What would they do next?

Liu Qiu would do everything with that person—everything she had once done with Fu Jinyin.

The screen went dark, taking away the only light in the room.

Fu Jinyin curled up on the ground, letting the tears flow uncontrollably.

Liu Qiu had lied to her.

She wasn’t coming back.

They had already done that kind of thing.

And Liu Qiu had been the one who started it.

Liar.

“Liar… I hate you.”

Liu Qiu had betrayed her.

She had clearly said that if Fu Jinyin behaved well and listened, they would stay together forever.

Back in the room where Duan Liming and Liu Qiu were.

When Duan Liming touched her again, Liu Qiu finally couldn’t hold it in anymore and burst into tears.

“I don’t want this.”

“I don’t want to do it anymore.”

She was afraid of Duan Liming. She didn’t want to do this kind of thing with her.

Duan Liming slowly withdrew her hand and leaned down to examine Liu Qiu carefully.

Liu Qiu sobbed softly. “I don’t want to do it.” Her eyelashes were soaked with tears.

Duan Liming pinched her chin. Liu Qiu had her eyes closed, her cheeks flushed and wet with tears, looking pitiful.

“Liu Qiu, are you a puppy?”

“Whining like that.”

Liu Qiu shook her head. “I’m not.”

A trace of amusement flashed in Duan Liming’s eyes. She lowered her head and kissed Liu Qiu’s damp lips.

“We won’t do it anymore.”

Liu Qiu slowly opened her eyes and met Duan Liming’s gaze. The fear faded little by little.

She could tell—this was the good Duan Liming.

Her voice was thick with tears as she cautiously made a small request.

“Then… can you let Fu Jinyin go?”

“S-she didn’t do anything bad.”

Duan Liming pulled Liu Qiu into her arms, cupped her face, and wiped away her tears.

“Mm. Okay.”

“Tomorrow, you’ll personally go release her.”

Liu Qiu’s tears stopped. Surprise filled her eyes as they widened.

“Really?”

Duan Liming lowered her lashes, hiding her gaze.

“Mm.”

Liu Qiu grabbed her wrist.

“Thank you. I know—you’re the other personality.”

“The good one. I like this personality.”

She didn’t mean anything else by it—she simply felt that compared to the one earlier, this version was much better. She didn’t force her and was even willing to release Fu Jinyin.

Carefully, Liu Qiu asked, “Can you stay out all the time?”

Her slightly red eyes were moist and beautiful, the pleading in them clear.

Duan Liming lifted her eyelids slightly, taking in Liu Qiu’s expression.

“Perhaps.”

It was an ambiguous answer.

But Liu Qiu was already happy with it.

As long as the second Duan Liming wasn’t in control, she could release Fu Jinyin.

Wait—she should go right now.

Liu Qiu pressed her lips together and tightened her fingers.

“Can I go release her now?”

Duan Liming patted the hand holding her wrist. Liu Qiu subconsciously let go.

Duan Liming got out of bed and put on her nightdress.

Glancing at the stunned Liu Qiu, she said softly:

“Let’s go.”
