Chapter 10: Ruined the Magical Girl

“Mmm… hah…”

Soft, breathy sounds intertwined in the dark space, warm and moist, blurring into an atmosphere of ambiguous intimacy.

Su Yuan’s fingertips had just touched Bai Shimo’s shoulder when a chaotic sensation made her heart leap.

That impeccably crisp battle attire, usually so sharp and neat, was now a crumpled mess—the shoulder strap had slipped halfway down.

Her fingers accidentally brushed against something soft.

She jerked her hand back as if shocked by electricity, and her lips parted hastily.

But before Su Yuan could recover, an arm—the one that had been wrapped around her—somehow slid down to her waist and pulled her back with surprising strength, nearly pressing her flush against Bai Shimo’s burning chest.

“More… I want more…”

Fragmented murmurs slipped from Bai Shimo’s lips, tinged with a hint of grievance, brushing against Su Yuan’s ear like feathers.

Su Yuan’s eyes widened in shock.

In the darkness, she couldn’t make out Bai Shimo’s expression—but that soft, needy tone unmistakably belonged to the usually composed and formidable Bai Shimo!

Wait—what was happening right now?!

She was supposed to be doing something bad!

She was greedily siphoning the other’s sacred mana, using her succubus instincts to manipulate her mind.

And yet… this hero she had “defiled” was now begging her for more?

Could it be that the charm magic had utterly shattered Bai Shimo’s reason?

“Oh no, oh no, oh no…”

Su Yuan screamed internally, her cheeks burning so hot they might catch fire.

She was defiling a superstar who appeared on TV!

A magical girl revered by thousands, a guardian of the city’s peace!

Bai Shimo was a hero who protected everyone, a guardian who brought smiles to people’s faces.

And she—using such despicable means—had reduced her to this: insatiable, delirious, unrecognizable…

This was absolutely terrible!

The mana within her was gradually replenishing, warm power flowing through her meridians—enough to fuel her escape and the subsequent rescue attempt.

Su Yuan gritted her teeth and gently pushed away the limp, almost boneless body of Bai Shimo.

But the moment she pulled back, Bai Shimo, as if losing her anchor, immediately reached out and wrapped her arms around Su Yuan’s shoulders, leaning into her.

“Succubus… why won’t you hold me anymore?”

No, no, no!

This magical girl was definitely broken!

Steeling herself, Su Yuan stopped hesitating and forcefully broke free from Bai Shimo’s grasp.

With a soft thud, Bai Shimo tumbled onto the cold floor, letting out a small yelp of surprise.

“Enough!

Hmph, that’s enough!”

Su Yuan quickly channeled her remaining mana to reapply the “Nana” disguise, lowering her voice and feigning anger.

“Who would want to embrace someone from the Security Bureau?!

Don’t misunderstand—I was only after your mana!”

“Eh…”

Bai Shimo’s dazed voice responded, still hazy as if emerging from a stupor.

A gust of night wind blew in, lifting the heavy curtain just enough for a sliver of moonlight to spill through, finally dispersing some of the darkness.

She looked up, her vision slowly focusing—and saw that familiar yet unfamiliar figure standing coldly not far away, the lingering scent of seduction still clinging to her.

“What did you just say?”

Bai Shimo’s voice was hoarse, as if she had just woken up.

But before she could finish, the figure turned abruptly and bolted without hesitation toward the end of the corridor.

A lie!

A complete and utter lie!

Bai Shimo’s sanity snapped back in full force, all confusion instantly replaced by a surge of fury.

Gritting her teeth, she forced herself up from the ground and grabbed Su Yuan’s ankle just as she was about to step away.

Caught completely off guard, Su Yuan lost her balance and crashed heavily onto the floor, a dull pain shooting through her knee.

“Damn you!

Damn succubus!

You deceived me!

I finally, finally found you… so why are you abandoning me again…”

Bai Shimo’s voice trembled, and upon closer listening, there was a hint of a sob beneath it.

Su Yuan’s heart jolted—was Bai Shimo crying?

In that moment of stunned hesitation, a sharp sting shot through her thigh.

Bai Shimo had leaned down and bitten her—hard, with a desperate, obsessive strength.

“Ngh!”

Startled, Su Yuan instinctively yanked her leg back.

The moment Bai Shimo’s grip loosened, she scrambled to her feet and fled down the corridor without looking back.

This time, she didn’t hesitate.

Reaching the end of the corridor, Su Yuan gritted her teeth, channeled her freshly restored mana to her fingertips, and slashed fiercely at the sealed glass window before her!

CRASH——

The crisp sound of shattering glass cut through the night.

Shards scattered in all directions, and bright moonlight poured in like a waterfall, illuminating her escape route.

Su Yuan kicked off the ground, her body leaping through the broken window—drenched in moonlight—and disappeared swiftly into the thick darkness, leaving only the fading sound of retreating footsteps.

The curtain fell back into place, and moonlight flooded the room, finally shattering that impenetrable darkness.

Bai Shimo lay sprawled limply on the floor.

Her sapphire staff had rolled to her feet, glowing faintly.

She didn’t reach for it.

She simply stared blankly in the direction Su Yuan had fled, her shoulders trembling uncontrollably.

Tears slid down one by one, splashing onto the cold floor and spreading into small dark stains.

Why…

She had been so close—just a little more, and she could have kept her here…

But in an instant, she had lost that succubus again.

“Why… why do you deceive me over and over, why do you keep letting me fall into despair…!”

“Succubus… I will never—never forgive you!”

Kneeling amidst the wreckage, her hair disheveled, Bai Shimo muttered through clenched teeth.

***

Perhaps the emergency backstage had already been resolved.

When she burst out of that noisy building, the massive golden-tinged barrier that had once loomed over the venue was nowhere to be seen.

Presumably, the magical girl codenamed Peony had withdrawn her spell once the crisis passed.

This unexpected convenience saved Su Yuan the trouble of breaking through the formation.

Using the shadows of the buildings for cover, she zigzagged her way out of the concert venue’s crowd and security perimeter.

Senior Goria’s whereabouts were still unknown, but Su Yuan had no time to worry about others now.

Bai Shimo’s power was unfathomable.

Even with some of her mana drained and her mind disturbed, there was no guarantee she wouldn’t recover quickly and give chase.

She had to make it back to her hiding place deep in the city’s old alleyways before that obsessive magical girl broke free from the backstage restraints—or everything would be for nothing.

Fortunately, the mana now flowing through her felt like a steady stream, circulating through her limbs with a light, buoyant energy.

Her panicked heartbeat gradually steadied.

Only the spot on her inner thigh where Bai Shimo had bitten her still throbbed with a dull ache.

Finally, Su Yuan reached a secluded street corner.

Away from the main roads, flanked by weathered old walls, only a single rusty streetlamp stood lonely at the intersection.

She leaned against the cold wall, gasping for breath, her chest heaving.

She scanned her surroundings warily.

The night was deep.

All was quiet—only the occasional distant car horn broke the silence.

Confirming she was safe for the moment, Su Yuan’s gaze dropped to her thigh.

That lingering ache persisted, carrying an odd sensation—different from what an ordinary bite should feel like.

She bit her lower lip, lifted the hem of her skirt, and exposed the skin under the dim yellow streetlight.

The next second, Su Yuan’s pupils contracted sharply, and her breath caught.

There, on her fair skin, was a pale pink mark—

Not a bite mark or a set of teeth impressions, but a lifelike jasmine flower.

The edges of the pattern shimmered with magical light.

As her fingertip brushed over it, she could feel a faint pulse of mana—like a clinging leech, firmly attached to her skin.

Su Yuan’s heart sank straight to the bottom.

A chill crept up her spine.

She knew all too well what this kind of mark meant.

It was a secret magical imprint used by magical girls.

Unless the caster actively removed it, or it was overlaid by stronger mana…

Once inscribed, no matter what form she assumed, it could never be erased.
